Updated the original post to fix two broken images, and also to add in an image for the current version of Apollo.
Also, here's a bonus image of the initial mockup for YWS 4.0, released in August 2009:

Of all the homepages, the current one seems to do the best job at engaging users. On average, a user will spend about 2 minutes browsing the front page. The bounce rate is 20% (percentage of visits that only visited the homepage) and the exit rate is 14.4% (percentage of visits that viewed more than just the homepage, but the last page they saw was the homepage).
That compares against an average time of 1 minute and 36 seconds for the final version of YWS 4.0, although the bounce rates and exit rates are pretty much identical (Apollo's is lower, but by a very negligible amount).
For me personally, I do like the current one the best. It's really interesting though to see the past versions -- YWS' visual progression is a mirror of my own progression in administrating and developing YWS. It's like seeing the rewrites of a novel.
Regardless of my lack of web skills early on, though, I have no idea what I was thinking with the August 31, 2007 version. Even back then, I remember wondering what I was thinking shortly after that design change (it didn't last long!).
Wasn't here for most of it, but this still feels pretty cool!
I occasionally stalk older user's works and the leftover forums and it's all pretty darn amazing :>
The fault must partly have been in me. The bird was not to blame for his key. And of course there must be something wrong In wanting to silence any song.
@Nate, do you have any screenshots of the chimped out dark version?

You should be able to log in fine with your 2009 account info, but if you need me to reset your password, send me a PM. After logging in, you might need to change the template, which you can do by going to My YWS ->> My Preferences.
...so technically I should also remember the 2007 ones, as I joined in February 2007, but the 2008 one was the one that leapt out. Old friendly there. ^_^

@ScarlettFire ->> The theme for 2010 would've been pretty much the same as the one you see listed for January 16, 2011. Back then, themes changed around quite a bit so it probably was not exactly like, but there wouldn't be any major differences either.
