With YWS: Apollo now more or less complete, the Young Writers Society will be celebrating its Grand Re-opening on March 23! It'll be a day of celebration for everything that all of us have accomplished over the years. Whether you just joined today, or you're one of the originals, you have contributed something to YWS.
As this is a Grand Re-opening, it will be a celebration of all things YWS. So anyone who visits during the weekend of March 23 will be entitled to receive 1 free YWS bookmark. There will also be a brand new feature unveiled that day that a lot of people will love (hint: it's a game for writers). Last but not least, we'll have a live podcast that day as well.
As with all Grand Re-openings, this is mostly a marketing event. Thus, I will be issuing our first ever press release to be distributed via the AP wire service. A few emails will go out as well to the memberbase. The aim is to kickstart YWS' growth and establish once and for all that this is the best group for young writers period.
If you're interesting in helping with the publicity, the following can help a lot:
- Tweeting or mentioning YWS on Facebook (particularly on March 23)
- Blogging about the Grand Re-opening on Tumblr or your own personal blog
About a week before the event, I'll also publish a couple flyers that you can print at home and put on bulletin boards at your school, library, or wherever such boards are found in your area. If you're in the USA, I can also mail these flyers to you. Just send me the address you'd like for them to be sent by sending an email to nate@youngwriterssociety.com.
