Class was finally back under way and as I walk in a hand shoots up.

"Ms. Wenchester, why would you help the vampires? They're horrid creatures. Why not just let that guy kill them?" a girl asks.

I don't know who, but the question catches me off guard. Trinity wheels herself out of class and down the hall.

"What did the vampires do to you?" I ask the girl. "Did they hurt you? Did they hurt someone you know? Have they ever laid a hand on you?"

She's petite with plain brown hair and mud brown eyes. Her eyes pop wide at my questions like she didn't know how to answer them.

"Um," she starts. "um-"

" 'Um', what?" I raise and eye brow.

She begins to stutter. I begin to pace.

"Class?" I turn to look at them but keep pacing. "Din't I tell you the first day I started here that I didn't discriminate?"

"Yes Ms. Wenchester." they chime.

"And didn't I say to Trinity, in front of everyone, that if vampires were willing to work with me i'd be wiling to work with them? That if I could trust them, I didn't see any reason why we couldn't work together?"

"Yes Ms. Wenchester." they agreed.

"So why would you ask me a question like that?" I look at the girl who started this.

If I remember correctly, her name was Michelle.

"Because they're vampires!" she blurts.

"And what about vampires?" I ask. "They're stronger than us and they live longer us, but that's the only thing that separates us from one another."

"They kill people!" she frowns.

"So do humans." I shrug.

"But everyone says-"

"What everybody else says is wrong." I interrupt. "What do you say?"

"I say that all vampires are scum!" she answered.

"Well then answer me this." I say. "Out of all of the vampires you know in this school, have they ever raised a hand to you?"

She pauses and then answers, "No."

"Have they ever turned on you they way you and others in the school are turning on them?" I ask and look around the room.

She bites her lip nervously. "No."

"And when you found out they were vampires, what changed about them?" I looked around at the rest of the students. "Did they walk differently or talk differently? Did they stop acting like the person you or anyone in this school thought they were?"

"No." she sighed as other kids in class shook their heads.

"Then why do you treat them like they've done something wrong just because of what they are? I saw the way you all looked at Trinity, and I know for a fact that most of the people in here were friends with her." I lean against my desk.

No one in class has anything to say, and before anyone gets the chance I hear a scream and shoot out of the classroom towards the noise. I find Trinity on the ground out of the wheelchair and Steve being knocked out. There was a group of kids surrounding them and I didn't like what I was seeing.

"Hey!" I run towards them.

They all look up, see me, and begin running off. I would've chased after all of those little punks and kicked their butts, but I was more concerned about the kids laying in front of me. I'd seen all of their faces, so there was no way in hell they were getting away with this.

I run in and grab my mother right behind Luna as we heard her scream out for help. "Shh shh it's okay now don't worry we'll get them Sara"I comfort her then lead her away to her dorm to rest then go back with Luna. "I'll get them for you if you'd like my curse is freaky that way so you don't have to hunt them down one by one if you'd like." I tell her and she looks over at me curiously.
"That won't be needed but thank you any way and I'm a little curious cause I've never seen you drink blood before with your mother and sister do you act more human than your sister or is it something else?" She asks me and I look down as she asks then stop and she stops with me waiting for my answer.
"It's complicated and a bit scary...okay lie not a bit scary but a lot scary. I feed off of peoples lives and souls there." I breath the answer out really fast then close my eyes tightly and wait for her to run away screaming.

I wake up, lying in bed in my dorm, feeling sore as anything. Raven sitting on her bed reading, my mother and aunts on the sofa, looking at magazines. I go to sit up, but it makes me dizzy, so slowly, I make it to an upright position. "Where's Sarafine and Steve!?" I ask with concern, "Are they okay!?" Raven looks up. "They're fine. They're in their dorms resting. They already woke up though, so I came in here." My mother walks over and sits beside me on the bed. She moves the hair from my face. "Sweetie, when I came here, I came to see my daughter, that I haven't seen in almost two centuries. I didn't expect to see her being harmed so much." "What are you saying?" Iask. "I want you to come back with us. I don't want you to go to school here anymore." What!? How can she say that!? Raven gets up and leaves out of frustration. "No! You can't make me! I enrolled myself, you didn't and I refuse to leave! I can take care of myself, and even if I struggle, I have people here that care about me!" "Come with your family!" she shouts. "These guys are my family!" I argue. She shakes her head in disapproval. "You are coming back with us." "No I'm not!" I scream. I literally, crawl out of bed and over to my wheelchair. I wheel myself out of the room, tears rolling down my face, knowing it's near pointless to argue with mother, she always gets her way. No! Not this time. I'm staying. I find Raven, sitting in a corner of the hall crying. I wheel over to her, still crying myself. "I'm not going with them," I assure her, "No matter what." "Be with your family." she says. "You guys are my family too!" She gets up and hugs me. Maybe between us, Steve, and Saarafine, we can convince her to let me stay. Even if we don't convince her, I'm not leaving, even if it crumbles the relationship we just mended. Nothing can make me leave here.

Everything is almost good now that Trinity and Steve are in the infirmary, but I talked to Kai and he told me he would round up the students. I volunteered to help. Roxanne offered to come with me, so I said to shake a leg.

"I'll get them for you if you'd like my curse is freaky that way so you don't have to hunt them down one by one if you'd like." Roxanne spoke.

I look at her and smile. "That won't be needed, but thank you any way. But I'm also a little curious because I've never seen you drink blood before with your mother and sister. Do you act more human than your sister or is it something else?"

She look down and all of a sudden stops walking altogether. I troll to a stop and wait for her to answer.

"It's complicated and a bit scary..." she starts . "Okay lie. Not a bit scary, but a lot scary." she takes a deep breath. "I feed off of peoples lives and souls there."

That brings me up a little short. It takes me a second before I say anything.

"Hm..." I touch my chin thoughtfully. "I find that quite interesting."

"You do?" her eyes popped wide.

I begin walking again as I talk. "Is there any particular reason I shouldn't?"

"Well," she scratches her head. "I guess not..."

"But what?" I look at her.

"That's just not the reaction I was expecting." she confessed.

"You were expecting me to run away screaming?" I laugh.

She shrugged guiltily.

"Just because I don't understand something doesn't mean I should automatically fear it." I tell her. "It's like I told everyone in class, I don't let fear control me, and I don't discriminate."

She's silent after that. Probably mulling over what I said when I saw one of the kids who attacked Steve and Trinity talking and laughing with a couple of others. When he saw me he tried to run, but he wasn't getting away this time.

"Oh no you don't" I glare.

I raise a hand to my side and flick my wrist. The boys trips over air and face plants the floor. I walk up and pull him by his hair.

"Hey let he over me!" he shouts and tried to break free.

"Shut up you little punk." I yank harder. "I'm taking you to the Headmaster for attacking two student, and I hope he expels you."

When he tried to argue I cut him off. "Don't give me any of that bull. I saw every one of you punks before you ran off after trying to harm Trinity and Steve, so shut up and walk."

I see the jittery look on Roxanne's face and hope she didn't see what I just did.

I head back to my dorm and find my mother is extremely mad at me. "You're coming with us!" she orders. "No I'm not!" I scream. We go back and forth for a while. Then Raven walks in. She sticks up for me, but careful not to overstep any boundaries, I mean she is still my mother. The three of us debate it for a while, my aunts sitting akwardly in the corner. "I'm not going and you can't make me!" I screech. "Fine you know what!? I don't care! But when you get killed, I'm gonna say I told you so at your funeral!" "Mother! Would you just accept the fact that I can live without you! I've done it for a long time now! I don't need you to tell me how to run my life!" I wheel out of the room, filled with rage. "Well don't expect to hear from me again if I'm so unneeded!" "Fine! I don't need to talk to you!" I slam the door behind me. I continue down the hall for a few minutes, then I hear the scream. I turn around and bolt down the hall. I slam the door open and find Raven beaten down on the floor, not too bad, but enough to know it was a rough attack, my mother pinning her down. As I come in a bit closer, they continue. My mother fighting Raven, trying to bite her, Raven struggling, keeping her from getting fangs in her neck.

"Mother!" I shout. I go to look to my aunts for assistance, but find them on the ground near Raven, unconscious. Then I realize that they aren't unconscious, they're dead, they have bleeding fang holes in their necks, my mother killed her sisters, probably they were trying to stop her from hurting Raven. My mother gets up and pushes me out the door, and slams it in my face. I hear another scream and find the door locked. I pull the bobby pin out of my hair and pick the lock. I find my mother holding Raven to the wall by her throat, going to bite her. As much as it pains me, physically and emotionally, I leap out of my wheelchair and unto my mother's back. She fights with me momentarily, but then I get a good grip on her and sink my fangs into her neck. She releases Raven and slunks to the floor. We both are crying. "Now I can't ever talk to you again." I say. "You did what you had to do," she says, gasping for air, "Sorry I lost control, I love you sweetie." She closes her eyes, and I watch her take her last few breathes. Raven crawls up beside me and gives me a squeeze. Then Ms. Wenchester runs in. "You're too late." I get out through my tears.

It is sometimes scary, the amount you can do on the internet. They have webpages dedicated to vampire hunters. According to google, 654,973,004 of them.
As I typed on my small laptop computer, I shifted positions and winced. I had forgotten my SPF 666 earlier and my skin had turned a violent shade of scarlet, with thrice the amount of pain as a normal burn. Joy.
A boy a year younger than me sat in the corner of my room, playing his Nintendo, sippping at his Vodka and Monster. He was one of Gideon's assistants. Apparently he had been recruiting. His death made things... less convenient. I really should tell him to lay off the stuff. I need enough to keep a bar in buisness just to get a good buzz and sleep at night. I clapped my hands and motioned for him to close the blinds. He grumbled at being taken away from the game, but he did as I said, throwing the room into darkness. My relief was palpable.
"Forget the SPF 666?" he asked with a laugh. I narrowed my eyes at him. That was my joke. He put up his hands in surrender and strolled over to my desk, looking at what I was typing. "Shame about Gideon," he said.
I shrugged. That kiss had left me with mixed feelings. Him being dead meant I shouldn't have to deal with them.
"Although it's probably better for our female recruits."
I turned around to look at him. What is he talking about?
Withering under my gaze, he stammerd, "Well, this is just a rumor really, but, I kind of, um, heard that he was into younger girls. They say he was with Wenchester and Sarafine, once upon a time." I felt my stomach drop to the Earth's core. That changed things.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I didn't answer and he kept pressing me until I was all too tempted to jerk his brown, curly hair back, revealing his throat. He paled. I rolled my eyes and released him. He gathered up his things and said angrily, "You act so noble, but you're no better than the rest of them. You say it was that girl dying, but she was a vamp too! I think you're just pissed that you're a freak now."
He barely has time to flee the room when I pulled a switchblade. After stowing it back, I tried to relax. I decided I would have to do something fun tonight. Maybe a basketball game.
I finished off my post and read it over. Vampire infestation, help needed, body count rising, etc...
Satisfied, I nearly hit submit. But then, on an impulse, I signed it. Luna Wenchester.

After we've locked a few more of the trouble makers in the office I wait till me and Luna are alone before I finally ask her. "Luna how did you do that the first time when the boy tripped on nothing. I saw you flick your wrist in a way then he went sailing onto the floor?" I ask her so confused yet a bit curious as well.

I still can't believe what happened with Trinity and her mom. And I was the perpetrator. If I hadn't looked for her family, if I hadn't made that call, none of this would have happened. Trinity's innocent aunts would be aive, and Trinity wouldn't have had to kill her mother. It's all my fault. Every single bit of it. The police should charge me for three counts of murder, or at least manslaughter. Then again, with the way things are now, they would probably reward me, them being vampires and all. Just the thought makes me sick to my stomache.

After the bodies of Trinity's aunts and mother are cleared away and sent to I- don't- know- where, Trinity and I lay down on our beds, a wall of silence seperating us. I think for a long time about what happened today, but eventually my mind drifts to the previous day, when Trinity and Sarafine were attacked by that group of guys. I hadn't told anyone this before, but I got the text that Steve sent. Unfortunately, my phone was dead, and I didn't get the text until that night. I figured that it was too late to do anything about it, so what was the point in telling them?

As my thoughts keep drifting, I wonder just how many people at this school want to kill us, the vampires and me, me because, as Gideon put it, 'a traitor to the human race.' Then I wonder how many people in the United States want to kill vampires. Fueled by my disturbing thought, I look up 'vampire hunters' online, and I click on the first site that pops up. Its a discussion board about how much people hate vampires, and it also looks like the newest post is to recruit and rally the vampire-haters into action. Violent, death-causing action. And who is it signed by? None other than Mrs. Luna Wenchester.

I get up, and start to walk out of the room, to confront her about this mutiny, when Trinity looks up from her book.
"What's up?" Instead of answering, I give her the laptop and she begins to read. As she does, I see her eyes gradually grow wider and her face getting redder by the second.

"But why would she do something like that?!"

"I don't know." I say, although I have an idea in the back of my head, that now she thinks we're murderers, she hates our guts. But I don't voice my opinion. I don't want to add insult to injury. "But I'm going to find out." With that, I storm out of the door, fuming.

I march down to Mrs. Wenchester's room, who is just finishing up grading papers at her desk. She glances up at me, and says cheerily, "Hi Raven, what's up?"

"Cut the crap. Why would you do something like that?!"

Taken aback, Mrs. Wenchester says defensively, "What? I didn't do anything!"

"Oh, yeah? Then what about that post on the vampire hunter group? Yeah, shure you don't descriminate!"

"I didn't post anything! I swear!"

I push her out of the way, her still on her chair, rolling around the classroom. I look up the website on her computer, and pull up the post. Despite herself, Mrs. Wenchester comes over, and reads the post, shocked.

"I-I swear I would never do this."

"I believe you." I say, and I do. She was sincere, I could hear it in her voice.

Then, without missing a beat we look at each other and say, at the same time, "Then who did?"
"Look out! He's got a daisy!"

I watch their bodies get carried off and know that I'll never see them again. It's all my fault, I should have just agreed to leave with them. I know Raven blames herself, but she shouldn't. We sit in silence for quite a while. Then Raven jumps up angry and shocked. Then she shows me her laptop. Why would Ms. Wenchester do that!? She storms out of the room to find out and I text Steve to tell him about it. A few minutes later Steve runs in the door and sits with me. I tell him about everything, my family and what Raven showed me Ms. Wenchester posted. We sit there in silence and his presence comforts me. He wraps his arms around me, and I don't want him to ever let go. Then Raven and Ms. Wenchester bust in. "Why would you bring her back here after that?" Steve demands an answer from Raven. "It wasn't her." she says. "Then who did it?" I ask, very confused.

Just a heads up. If you're gonna write my character into your post remember that she always keeps calm and cool. She never let's things get to her and she doesn't swear. She's not easily frazzled either. Please keep that in mind.

After rounding up every one of those punks I'd headed back to class and dismissed them early. Roxanne had asked what happened when that kids had tripped. I made up some excuse about having to grade papers and kicked her out. Of course I really did have to grade papers though, and I was half way through when Raven came rushing in.

I smiled. "Hi Raven, what's up?"

"Cut the crap. Why would you do something like that?!" she glares.

I'm speechless for a moment and just blink at her. Do what?

"I'm sorry I don't know what you're talking about." I frown.

"Oh, yeah? Then what about that post on the vampire hunter group? Yeah, sure you don't discriminate!" she says sarcastically.

Something was definitely wrong. And what's this about a post having to do with vampire hunting? I frown again.

She pushes me away from my desk and begins typing furiously on the keyboard. I come over and look at a post that apparently has my name signed at the bottom. My eyes pop wide in shock as I read the post. I look at Raven.

"And you think I wrote this post?" my fists clench.

Why would Raven accuse me of something like this? I'm disappointed she would just believe I was guilty.

'Your name is at the bottom of the post." she points out.

"I'm disappointed that you believe i'd do something like that." I sigh. "I thought you knew me better than that."

"So you didn't write the post?" she asks slowly.

"Have I ever given you reason to believe I would write something like this?" I raise an eye brow.

"So yo didn't?" she pushes.

"Of course not." I shake my head.

Now she looks like she feels guilty and meets my eyes. "I believe you."

Then, without missing a beat we look at each other and say, at the same time, "Then who did?"

I move back to my desk and begin rapidly typing. Raven walks up and looks at the screen. "What are you doing?"

"I'm tracking the IP address of whoever posted this."I answer without looking at her.

"You can hack?" I hear the smile in her voice.

"The FBI and CIA have me in their watch list." I smirk.

"Whoa," she and Trinity chuckle. "what did you do?"

"I hacked the Pentagon." I smile with pride.

"Then why aren't you in prison?" Raven sits on the edge of my desk.

"Hm..." I smile again. "everything they had on me was suddenly erased from the file they had on me, and they couldn't trace it back to me, so I walked."

"You didn't?" she laughed.

"As far as they're concerned I didn't." I wink.

She nods in approval. I find the address and pull out my phone.

"Lexi Wenchester." My mother answers.

"Hey mom." I smile at the sound of her voice.

"Oh honey!!" mom gushes. "How have you been?"

"Good mom," I say. "but this isn't a social call. I need a favor."

"What do you need?" I've got he attention now.

"I need a name on an IP address." I tell her as I place the call on speaker phone.

"What's going on?" I can fell her glare through the phone.

"Someone's just causing a little trouble and I need to find out who it is." I say nonchalantly.

"Mhm." mom grunts. "What's the address?"

I tick off the numbers twice and wait.

"Alright." mom chimes. "I'll call you back in a few."

"K mom, thanks." I close the web page.

"You're welcome honey." she says warmly. "Wait a minute, how did you get the IP address?!"

"Ok mom gotta go." I say

"Luna Rochelle Wenchester you know you're on watch by the CIA and FBI. If you-"

Click. I clear my throat and look at Raven. I hate the smirk I see on her face.

"Not one word." I glare.

"Ok." Trinity snickers. "Why'd you call your mom?"

"She's and FBI agent." I shrug.

"Are you kidding me?" she asks.

"Nope. you should've seen my mom's face when the CIA showed up." I laughed. "Priceless."

Just then My phone rang. It was Kai.

"Hey, what's up?" I answer.

"My office." he says. "Now"

Click. I sigh and put my phone up.

"What?" Raven asks.

"The headmaster wants me in his office right now." I try to massage my temples in a feeble attempt to dull the migraine forming there.

"Later." Raven scurries away with a giant smile in her face and Trinity trailing behind her .

"Wipe that smile off your face!" I call.

I stand up and head for Kai's office.

"Why the hell would you do something so stupid?
I rolled my eyes at the girl, Tiffany, ranting at me. Then, to point out her own stupidity, I started making ridiculous motions, like a cross between a mime with tourette's and interpretive dance. Scowling she grabbed a pen and paper (Why can't I ever remember that damn whiteboard.") and thrusted both of them into my hands.
IP addresses can only be traced so far, idiot. I'm connected to the school network, so it could be anyone. It even strengthens the case against Wenchester.
She sighed. "Why would you even sign her name?"
I like screwing with people.
"Clearly."
She started pacing the room and uttering a near continuous stream of curses, something Tiffany had been doing since this morning when she stormed into my room after her boyfriend, the other recruit, had told her about the post. "I hate that we have ask for help, but we need it. We just aren't enough. Those creatures are insane. They've even started killing each other. Did you hear about Trinity's family?" I felt like she had just punched me. I was one of the creatures of the night, turning against my own kind.
Not able to meet her eyes, I looked to the clock and almost rammed my head into the wall. It was seven, and time for vampire lessons with Sarafine. So much for the basketball game.
I rose to leave.
"Where are you going?" We have to talk about this!"
I was dangerously close to losing my temper now. We had been talking about nothing else for ten hours.
I have lessons with Sarafine, I wrote. I just hope her dumb kids aren't there?
Tiffany's eyebrows rose. "Sarafine has kids?"
I shook my head, as if it was a shame.Babies having babies.
With that I left the room, not looking forward to lessons in the slightest.

I made my way to the office and stepped inside. There were a few teachers and office workers shuffling around. They all stopped to stare at me when the door closed. It got eerily quiet as I walked up to Lila.

"He's waiting for you." she nodded towards his door.

I nodded and walked over. Instead of barging in I stopped at the door and put my hand to the door, But before I could knock-

"Come in." Kai sighed.

I walked in and turned as I closed the door behind me because I was too scared to look at him. But this can only last for so long. I took a deep breath and turned to face him. He didn't look happy and neither did Axel who was sitting in one of the chairs in front of his desk.

"Take a seat." Kai motioned to the one beside Axel.

I complied silently. For who knows how long Kai sat there silently while Axel glared at him. I knew this wasn't gonna be pleasant because of the way our talk in the hallway had ended. He wasn't happy about that either. Kai leaned forward, turned his screen monitor towards me, and sat back in his chair.

"Care to explain that?" he asked.

"I don't know how to." I reply. "I wasn't even near computer when this was posted."

"What am I supposed to tell the students or the teachers who saw this?" his jaw clenches.

"How am I supposed to know?" I throw my hands in the air out of frustration.

"Because your name is signed at the bottom of the post!" Kai snaps.

I glare. "I. Didn't. Do. It."

"Well nobody else seems to think so." he snaps again and stands up.

"Well, Mr. Headmaster sir," I snap. "i'm so sorry there are vampires haters in the world."

He came over to where I was seated and I stood up to face him.

"I love you, and I respect you, but don't you think for a second i'll let you get in my face." I look him dead in the eye.

He's huffing now. Like a mad bull. Axel moves to stand between us and puts a hand on Kai's chest.

"Son," Axel looks at him. "calm down."

Kai takes a step back and heads to sit back in his chair. He puts his face in his hands and takes a few deep breaths before looking at us.

"How am I supposed to deal with this?" he combs his fingers through his hair.

"I called my mom and she's tracking the IP address I gave her." I tell him.

His eyes narrow into slits. Whoops. "How did you get the IP address?"

"I..." I looked around the room. "commissioned the help of an old friend and let's just leave it at that."

"I'd like to meet this friend of yours." Kai stares me down.

"Sorry, she prefers to remain anonymous." I shrugged.

"You didn't." Axel shook his head.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I say innocently.

"Luna," Kai growls. "what did you do?"

"What do you want me to say?" I sigh. "That I committed a felony?"

He sighs. "I guess not."

"Well, ok then." I nod. "My mom should be calling me back any minute now."

As if on cue my phone rings. I put the call on speaker.

"You're on speaker mom." I answer.

"Ok," she says. "I got the IP address checked, and it came back to the academy."

"Which only further incriminates me." I grumble. "Please tell me you have something else."

"Well this should solve the problem." mom quips. "I went further and found that the post was sent from a school student user account. Wow is somebody not too smart."

"Who was it?" Kai asks.

"Hey Kai!!" mom calls. "How've you been?"

Kai smiles. "I'm doing fine, Lexi, but we can catch up another time."

"Aw," I could hear the disappointment in her voice. "Luna said the same thing."

"C'mon mom." I get her attention. "Who was it?"

"The student name that came up was Heike Henke." she answered. "Does that help?"

"Yea mom it does. Thanks." I run my fingers through my hair.

"You're welcome honey. I love you." she says back.

"Thanks Lexi." Kai calls.

"Any time sweetheart." she calls back warmly. "Bye."

"Bye." Kai and I say together.

Kai sits down. "Heike? That makes no sense."

"Actually it does once you think about it." I sat back down."

"How do you mean?" Axel inquires.

"Well, when you recall everything that happens Heike was there every time." I cross my legs.

"Are you sure?" Kai asks.

"Yes." I nod. "I took into account every student I saw at each incident and somewhere between the time it happens and the following hour or so she was there. And when you really think about it, Heike was always near the infirmary when the girls were taken."

"You're right." he frowns.

"Well," I tuck a lock of hair behind my ear and look at him. "we've got the real culprit, the real question is; What are you gonna do about it?"
"What is dead my never die, but rises again, larger and stronger..."

When Ms. Wenchester returns a while later, there is rage in her eyes, though she has a calm look on her face. "It was Heike." Is all she says to us. Heike!? I should have never told anyone that night I found her in the woods, I should have let her die there, but no I told the school where she was, and now she's arranging my death! I go to leave the room, and Raven goes to follow, but Ms. Wenchester makes us stay. "No girls! Let's not make any rash decisions! Let's think this through, I talked to the headmaster about it already." We decide to stay, and listen to what she has to say.

Roxanne
I watch as my mother trains this new fledgling of her's though she wasn't getting a lot of the stuff down to well.
"Roxanne come be partners with Heike and help her out a bit while I go and check in with Asther at the school, ok?" She leaves before I could say anything, so I turn to face the girl who was panting heavily with mom's extreme exercises that she had made her do.
"Rough I know but hey she's still my mom and your Maker," I smile at her showing my semi fangs that never went away. She just scowls at me so I hiss back and continue to lean back against the tree. "Pissy thing aren't you."

I decide to go for a stroll to clear my head, because I'm about ready to kill someone. I get outside and find Heike and Roxanne together, neither of them wants to be there. I pull Roxanne to the side and tell her about Heike, then send her to warn Sarafine. She listens and tells Heike I'll be watching her for a few minutes. I want to rip this girl's throat out right now. "Why Heike!?" I try not to say anything, but couldn't help but say at least that. "Because you deserve to die!" she signs. Yes I understand sign language. "I deserve to die. I'm sorry but I saved you from certain death that mnight!" I remind her. She lunges at me, knocking me out of my wheelchair. We fight for the longest time, no one coming to seperate us. Then I see a crowd of scary-looking people heading for us. Vampire hunters. This is not good. They immediately take notice of my fangs and pull me off of Heike, who pretends to be an innocent girl. They hold me down and one of them duct tapes my mouth shut, so I can't scream for help. No one even knows I'm out here, let alone that I'm being attacked by vampire hunters. "We're going to enjoy this!" one shouts. "Let's have some fun with this one!" Another adds. They all phrase it differently, but the message is clear:

Let's make the vampire suffer as much as possible, and die a slow, painful death.

One of them, a tall man, ties me up, after struggling with me a bit. Then he slings me over his shoulder and we are on our way. I see the lights from campus get farther away, until they aren't even a slight blur anymore. It's clear that this will be just like the times I was kidnapped by Gideon, except there are many of them, I am the lone victim, and there will most likely be no escape.
