City by the Sea

Alex

I smile and kiss Taylor back, cuddling with her after I pull back. Sighing, I set my chin on her shoulder and look out at Jake. I watch him grasp at the air and wonder what he's imagining there, smiling.

Mark

I nod and flash a smile, sipping my drink, "Maybe I'll check out that motel. I've got to lay low for a while."

Taylor

I get up and bring Jake back over here. Alex puts his arm around me as I hold Jake. Jake holds one of my fingers as I hold him. He is so calm. I lays his head down on my shoulder and falls asleep quickly.

Alex and I head up stairs and put him in the crib. Alex turns the monitor on and I turn the music on softly. I turn the lights out and head out the door with Alex. He grips my hand as we walk into our room and lay down on the bed.

Selena

I nod, "Yeah, maybe we could--" The bartender comes over, staring me down.

"No smoking."

I narrow my eyes at him and blow smoke in his face, "Yeah? Watch me," I bring it to my lips again.

"I will call the police," He threatens.

I shrug, "Do I look like I care? I've out run them millions of times, big boy," I grin.

He rolls his eyes and I blow smoke again, shooing him away. He gives me the death stare before getting to other costomers.

Alex

Taylor brings Jake over and we watch as he quickly falls asleep. We head back upstairs and set him in the crib. I turn on the baby monitor as she puts some music on for him. Once he's set, the lights are turned out and I take Taylor's hand. We walk back to our room and lay down, looking up at the ceiling.

Mark

I watch everything with slight amusement. Everyone knows better than to tell Selena what to do. I'd always thought that was common knowledge.

"You were saying?" I look back at her once the bartender leaves.

Taylor

I lay with him in the bed staring up at the ceiling. I turn my head and kiss his cheek. He lays his forehead on mine and smiles. “I love you.” I say to him.

Selena

I tap my cigarette on the side of the counter before resuming, "Maybe we could hang out or something. Get back to old times. We can be partners again," I smile, checking the time on my phone.

Alex

I smile and kiss her, setting my forehead against hers, "Love you too, Taylor."

Mark

I smile and down my drink, "Maybe. After all, there is no partner like you. It's been proven."

Taylor

We lay there for a few minutes, but I soon realize I have not had dinner. I kiss Alex and sit up. “I am going to go fix dinner.” I say.

“I am coming with you.” He says kissing me.

I smile and he grips my hand as we walk to the kitchen. I boil the water on the stove to cook some spaghetti.

Ten minutes later, it is done. I pour the sauce on and take it out on the patio.

Selena

I nod, flashing a smile, and finishingmy drink, "Thank you. Same to you," I smirk, blowing smoke again, "You want to head over there now? I have some stuff I want to show you."

Alex

I smile and watch her make dinner, following her out to the patio under the stars once she's done. I sit at her side and thank her, kissing her cheek.

I flash a smile and finish my drink as well, standing, "Sure. Lead the way."

Taylor

I smile and kiss him. “Your welcome.” I say. The stars shine bright and the moon is full. I start to eat and it does not taste bad. It is pretty. “I did not know I could make something that actually tastes decent to me.” I say. “Does it taste okay to you?” I ask.

Selena

I nod and drop my cigarette, not caring, and walked outside to my motorcycle. I jumped on it and pulled my shades down to cover my eyes before looking back at him, "You got a bike?"

Alex

I kiss her back and smile, eating. She asks me what I think and I smile again, looking at her, "Best spaghetti I've ever had out of a box."

Mark

I follow her out and flash a smile at her bike, circling it and noticing the modifications she's had done since the last time I saw her.

"No," I shake my head, "Can't have anything in my name. Left all my good stuff in California before I fled. Having a buddy bring by my Camero soon though."

Taylor

I smile and laugh. “Why thank you.” I say. When we both finish, I take our plates and put them in the dish washer. Alex come back in and starts it for me. I smile and wrap my arms around him.

Selena

I sigh, flashing a smile, and nod, patting the place behind me, "I loved that car. Now C'mon," I turn it on and the engine roars. I check the gas tank before nodding and looking back at him.
