I see Taylor walk into the pool and scurry over. I sit on the edge of the pool beside them and put my feet in. "Hey Taylor." I say. "This must be your husband and your cute baby." I say.

"Yes this is Jake and my husband Alex." She says.

I grab Alex's hand and shake it. "So nice to met you. I have heard nothing about you, but I am sure you are great." I say smiling.

Taylor

I try to force a smile on my face, but I think I end up with a weird expression. I hold Jake close and Alex just looks confused. I do not know what to say to this girl. "Alex this is Hayden. The one who made the cookies."

What the...

"Alex this is Hayden. The one who made the cookies." Taylor tells me.

Cookies!

I feel my confused expression lighten up and a smug smile spread across my face.

"Oh, yeah, nice to meet you," I say, "Y-you wouldn't happen to know the recipe for those cookies off the top of your head, do you? I know it's weird to ask..but those were amazing."

I laugh and whisper is Jake's ear. "Your daddy is hungry all the time and her really likes cookies." I say.

Jake laugh and I kiss him on the top of the head.

Hayden

"Well not at the top of my head." I say laughing. "I will get it to you though. I super duper swear. I am so glad I have great neighbors. This is going to be so fun." I say.

I flash a smile and nod, "Thanks."

I don't know what else to say after that, so I just slink an arm around Taylor and pull myself closer to her and my little boy.

I smile and get up, seeing they want to be alone. “Bye neighbors.” I call to them. I wave and run back to my house. I have nothing to do, so I get in my car and zip to the mall. When I drive past the pool, I honk the horn at Alex and Taylor, and wave. I pull into the town and park my car by the mall. I decide to do a little shopping in my free time.

Taylor

She honks the horn at us from her car and drives away. I laugh and lay my head on Alex's shoulder. Jake makes the cutest baby noises and tilts his head back to look at me. “When are you going to say mamma?” I ask him. “Or daddy?” I ask kissing his forehead.

He laughs and pats the water. “I hopes that you way of saying soon.” I say smiling.

Alex wraps his arm arm around me and we sit there, looking at out baby boy. Jake is the perfect baby.

Hayden jumps up and heads off, honking at us a little later. Taylor lays her head on my shoulder and gushes over Jake, which isn't hard to do. I watch as she asks him what word he'd say first, Mamma or Daddy, and then kisses his forehead. He pats the water, laughing, and Taylor smiles. I tighten my grip around her and sigh, kissing the top of her head as I look at our baby boy.

I smile as he kisses the top of my head. I turn Jake around to face us and he smiles. He reaches his hands out for Alex, so I hand him over to him. Alex smiles and takes Jake, both of their faces lighting up.

Taylor turns Jake around and my little boy reaches for me. I smile and sit him in my lap, glancing over at Taylor.

"We should get him a puppy," I say, "Like...a playmate. They could chase each other around and all that."

Or at least that's how it is in movies...

I look back at Jake and tickle him a bit before playing rocketship with him. He giggles the whole way and leaves a permanent smile on my face.

“A puppy? That would be so cute, but lets wait till we get the house done.” I say kissing his cheek. “I think Jake would like a dog.” I say. Alex plays rocket ship with Jake and he laughs loud. His laugh is so adorable, I can't stand it.

I smile at the two of them and sigh, setting Jake back on my lap.

"Let's go swimming, buddy," I tell him.

Slipping back in the water, I float on my back and have him sit on my chest. He pats at the water and splashes me unintentionally a few times, still giggling.

I smile and get out of the water. I wrap a towel around me and sit on the chair. I watch Alex and Jake float. Jake splashes water on Alex and giggles. Alex smiles and kisses Jake’s forehead. Just watching them makes me smile.

Taylor gets out of the pool and Jake continues to splash me, giggling evilly as he does. I smile and shake my head, wondering how mischievous he'll be in his toddler years. After a few minutes, he seems to get bored so I take him out of the water and wrap a towel around him. Taking one for myself, I sit beside Taylor and bring Jake onto my lap.

I smile as Jake and Alex come out of the water. Jake begins to cry a little. I check the clock on the wall. “Okay time to go home.” I say standing up. I get Jake and put home in the stroller. I kiss his cheek after I buckle him in. “Little baby has to eat.” I say. Alex smiles and gets up. We walk back home. I get Alex to get Jake in dry clothes and I run to warm up a bottle.

Jake starts crying a little and Taylor puts him in the stroller, saying something about it being time for him to eat. We should have brought one of those cookies or something... I smile and walk home with them, bringing Jake to his room to change while Taylor worries about the food. I help him get dressed out of his swimsuit and into a little one piece baby shirt that says "I Love My Daddy" and smile as I carry him out.

I fix him a bottle and get the baby food. Alex comes in a few minutes later and puts him in the high chair. I get him a bib and put it over his 'I love my Daddy' shirt. “You are just too cute.” I say to him.

Jake smiles and opens his mouth. “Okay I am going to feed you.” I say. I open the baby food and feed him.
