I could sense I wasn't well liked by him, then again when have sons of the love goddess ever been liked by other men? That does go vice versa with the daughters of the love goddess. But anyways.

"Ah, a daughter of Athena is always welcomed around here. And I can sense that your friend Nick here doesn't seem to like me very much, then again it seems like he has feelings for you." I said.

Rayah

I shrug, plopping on the couch, "Relax."

Jackie

I look down, awkward, and realize I'm the only girl in the room. Feeling even more awkward. I lean against Nic, having a weird, different, feeling for Balthier.

"I don't think...that's important right now," I look back up at him.

Jace

I plop down next to her, Alyx sitting on the other couch.

Nic

I look straight at him when he says what he does. How the freak does he know that? It's not that obvious...is it? Oh, god..No, I've become that person!

Jackie leans against me, which raises my hopes a little, and I resist the urge to sneer at the guy.

"I don't think...that's important right now," she says, looking at Balthier.

W-what?

I look at her.

My feelings aren't important? What the hell?

Balthier

"Being a little cold hearted ain't you? To a man who has clearly fallen for you no less." I said with a raised eye brow.

I just stood there with my arms folded, I didn't like how she was acting. She had blown off her friend who had feelings for her and yet she doesn't care if he's fallen for her.

Rayah

I flash a smile at Jace and take a deep breath.

Jackie

No! I didn't mean it like that! Ugh! I meant that in this moment, I didn't want to...UGH.

I shake my head, "Nevermind. Forget I said that. You guys took it the wrong way," I say, crossing my arms, "I meant right now, we don't have to think about it. It's not the right moment."

Jace

I smile back at Rayah and glance up at Alyx, who shakes his head and sighs before leaving the room.

Nic

There wasn't much of another way to take it.

I set my glass down on the table and stand.

"I think it's best I take off," I say, "Thank you for the drink."

I politely nod at Balthier, who had come around in my mind, and head for the door.

Balthier

"I'll be coming with you if you don't mind. I'm going to let Jackie and Gray have some alone time." I said.

I walk over to Gray who had been giving me a death eye and whisper into his ear.

"And that's how you swoon a woman." I said.

We walk out the door as I shut it behind me not bothering to look back, as I wait to hear if anything will occur.

"I play fair my friend, that and I don't like girls who blow off other guys who like them. Hey if you want I can talk to Eros and have him put a love arrow in her back for you." I ask.

Rayah

I lean against Jace as Alyx leaves and begin to wonder something, "Oh no. I'm going to find Jackie. She isn't back yet." I swear, standing.

Jackie

Yep. Just blew it.

I sigh and stand, Gray glaring at me. I just roll my eyes at him, "Bye."

He ignores me and walks upstairs. I shake my head and walk out, seeing Nic and Balthier talking. I swallow just as I see Rayah. Oh sh*t.

"Where the f*ck were you?!" She screams, flashing a smile at Nic before turning to me.

I shake my head, "No where," I shove past her and start walking. She stops me.

"Who's that?" She looks at Bathier.

I shake my head again, "None of you're buisness, Rayah."

Jace

I stay where I am for a moment, confused, before following Rayah out the door and finding Nic away from Jackie and talking to another guy.

Wow. The world must have exploded for him to choose another guy over a girl.

I flash a smile at Balthier and shake my head.

"Nah, thanks though," I say, "I don't want magic or powers involved. If it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be. I'm the only loser in the end."

Jackie comes out, then Rayah. Only my brother's girlfriend flashes a smile at me, then looks at Balthier. Jackie refuses to introduce him to her, so I decide to stick it to her, payback for what happened.

"This is Balthier, Rayah," I say, "I think he's...your half-brother or something. Son of Aphrodite too."

Balthier

"Ah Rayah is it? I do not believe we have had the pleasure of meeting now have we? But yes, what Nick says is true we share a mother." I said bowing before her and taking and kissing her hand.

She smiles as I stand once more as I take a step back as another man, who looks oddly like Nick takes a place beside Rayah. They twine hands and he looks at me in jealousy, suddenly it dawns on me as they are in a relationship.

"Ah forgive me, you must be her boyfriend no?" I ask.

Rayah

Weird....

Me and Jace twine hand and Jace looks at him with a mixture of anger and jealousy. I couldn't take my eyes off him though...

Jackie

I chuckle at what he's trying to start with Rayah and can actually see them as a couple if I think about it. I shake my head out and walk home, sighing.

Um...am I the only one who thinks that's weird? They share a mother, as Balthier put it... o.O

Jace

The guy kisses her hand and she can't stop staring at him. I can't help but scowl, not liking this one bit.

"Yeah," I say to his question, "Fiance actually."

Rayah, don't kill me. I do have the ring in my pocket and this guy is pissing me off.

Jackie leaves, smiling, and my heart drops.

So much for that plan. Confrontation?

I excuse myself from the conversation and catch up with her.

"I would apologize, but I feel as if I'm the one who is in need of that right now," I say, walking backwards before her.

Balthier

"Well, Mr and Mrs, Sparx will it be? I ask apologies since I had not known that Rayah has a Fiance." I extend my hand to shake his.

We shake and I quickly pull away as to make sure my power doesn't show, maybe a tad late since he looks to see his hand is wet. When he realises that it is.

"So anyways I like to ask who you are the son of exactly Mr,,," My voice trails off.

"Just call me Jace." He said.

"Jace it is." I said.

Rayah

Seriously? Carter....

I shake my head out, "Hermes," I answer for him, "He's the son of Hermes."

Wait. Did Jace just say he's my Fiancè?

I glance at him, smiling, and squeeze his hand.

Jackie

"I'm sorry," I admit, "I'm sorry for saying something that came out wrong," I keep walking, crossing my arms.

Jace

I look at Rayah, finding her smiling, and flash one back. I nod in agreement of what she says before looking back at Balthier.

And, no offense, Ray, but we're going to be Mr. and Mrs. Carter. Jace Sparx sounds fruity...

I raise my eyebrows at her, taking that the wrong way too I guess. I stay in front of her as she walks.

"And I'm sorry for whatever....I don't even remember," I think about it, "Yeah."
