As I walked to Journalism, I saw a hispanic guy walk up to me. Not again with the "Oh hi, you must be new! Or a damn transfer from the bad side of town..." thing. It was enough.

I picked up my pace, trying to get away. But I wasn't that lucky.

"Hello," he said.

Turning on my heel, I plastered a smile on my face. "Hey,"

Journalism. Not too. Far. Say you gotta go.

"Where are you headed?" he asked.

"Journalism..."

"I'm going there too. You seem new, I haven't seen you before... do you need help getting there?"

He was just like Allen, nice, beating around the bush. I'm from Lincoln. And everyone knows that.

But I had a thing with hair, and I liked his. Black, thick and curly.

"Uh, sure."

Lauren, Matt, and I walk down to theatre after the most boring assembly ever. We take our seats in the studio theatre, (yeah, this school is pretty awesome!) and find we are the first people here. Then the roudy kids come in, and I know they don't even care about drama, they're probably just here because they needed to take some kind of artistic class. Whatever. This is going to be a good year, I have some pretty awesome sounding classes and Lauren and Matt are in most of them. The roudy kids won't shut up like the rest of us do when the teacher walks in, that is until she starts talking, they're in the way back and we're in the way front, I know they still must be whispering, but at least I don't have to hear it. I turn my focus to the teacher as she begins.

Emmett

Awkward wasn't even the beginning of what this girl was. She had some kind of restless aura under her skin, and her round face never looked like it had ever wore any cheer.

Oh, God... I need to stop to listening to Uncle. He's stupidly Native American, it shames anyone who has escaped from the res. Okay. Normal boy thinking.

She was pretty. And seem interesting. There. Normal. I was glad she accepted my help; she seemed so lost. In more ways than one. For some reason... I either related to those people or felt the need to protect them. Don't ask why.

"Cool. I'm Emmett."

"Jane."

Que awkward silence. I wonder what grade she's in, so I ask her; "What grade are you in?"

"Junior." A pause. "You?"

"Senior. I've only been here a year, though. Still feels like an alien place."

Her eyes lit up. Something relatable. "Really?"

"Oh, it's a nice town and a decent school." Why am I still talking? " It's just not home yet."

She smiles wistfully, but I frown at the sight of the door plate. 249. "Really? I thought I-" she notices the doorposts "-oh. Should we go in?"

"Actually, I'm next door. Ah, AP Physics." I smile at her. She doesn't seem to be the type of girl to like flirty charm - which I pull sometimes, admittedly- but I feel the need to make a suggestion. "Though, if you don't have anyone to sit with at Lunch..."

Are we having a party or something else afterschool? C'mon guys, let's make a plan!
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

Mrs. Dillard mounts the stage in the studio theatre, "Greetings class," her voice booms through the studio, "We're going to have a great year!" She goes on about what we're going to do this year. Boring first day stuff. We all get up on stage, play a couple of theatre games, nothing much. Then class is over. I took a lot of online classes over the summer, so I have all electives this year, Lauren and Matt did the same. We all have chorus class next, I'm excited, I liked middle school chorus, even made all-district honors choir. Hopefully this yearr will be as good. We walk towards the chorus room, and I run into a super-cute tenth grade guy. I know I start blushing when, in a flirty voice, he says, "Hi, what's your name?"

Emmett. Nice name. Different than anybody else's I've heard of. I like it.

"Um, yeah... I have no one to sit with." I am so bad at communicating with people. End of story.

"Great! I'll see you at lunch?" he said.

"Yeah, see you there." I smiled.

Waving, he walked off to his class which was only two doors away from mine. I didn't even move. The door shut behind him and I was still in the same spot. I didn't want to go to class at all. Oh tough luck.

Opening the door, I found the whole class staring at me as if I committed a crime.

It was the last period of the day, and I was ready for it. My sister and I had tennis for class. We'd both been playing since we were kids, have ranked top ten nationally, and have never lost a match. We suited up and headed out to chill with everyone else for study hall just before coach made and announcement.

"Alright, listen up!!" coach called. "We have two students joining us, so make them fell welcome.

I choked on my water. "Aren't those the guys who were staring at us earlier?"

"Yea they were." Lini nodded.

"My name is Kai Ohno Kelani." one twin stepped forward.

He was quite the big boy. Tall, broad, and darkly tanned skin with midnight black hair that hit his shoulders. His slanted eyes hinted at Hawaiian descent as did his name. Also his slight accent gave him away. he had the most beautiful Mediterranean blue eyes with gold flecks. The other twin stepped forward.

"My name is Keo." he smiled and waved.

They were identical twins, so there was no reason to describe them. Except Keo had these amazing bamboo green eyes and gold flecks.

"Hello Keo." Lini purred.

I turned to look at her.

"What?" she asks. "I'm just admiring."

"Yea, well keep your 'admiring' under control." I laughed.

"Well i'll 'admire' all I want." she stuck her tongue out at me.

"Alright," coach spoke. "you two go take a seat by our other twin super champs and chill until study hall is over."

I choked on my water again. Super champs!? What the fuck?! Lini was just as surprised as I was. Way to drop a bomb shell coach. I wiped my mouth and turned to say hi.

"Aloha Kaikua`ana." I nodded.

Keo smiled. "Aloha Kaikuahine."

Kia raised an eye brow. "You know how speak Hawaiian?"

"Ae." I raised an eye brow back at him.

Lini leans forward and holds her hand out to Keo. "Aloha u'i, nohea."

He takes her hand and smiles back warmly. "Mahalo nani."

Lini blushed. "Mahalo."

For the rest of study hall Keo and Lini flirted with each other while Kai and I sat in silence.

"Hey idiots!" coach yelled. "Get your asses up. We're heading out to the courts."

He looked at Kai and Keo. "I wanna see what our two new super champs can do."

"So do I." I spoke up looking directly at Kai.

So it turns out the hot tenth grader was one of those cruel jokes, gosh I hate people! They don't realize the different emotional and social probblems some people like me have already. I don't think that the jokes are evenn very funny, they're quite dumb actually. Oh well, whatever. I go on with the day, and it's relatively peaceful. As I'm walking home I bump into a group of snobby looking girls, they must go to the private high school. I move over on the sidewalk to let themm pass, but they just form a circle around me and snicker. A tall, thin, brunette girl walks into the center of the dirdle and stares me down. "Where do you go to school?" she asks with a confident smile. "Harmony High." I answer nervously. "The public school? As in our rival school?" She purrs. "I guess so, if you go to the private school." I answer. Her friends move out of the way and she shoves me into a brick wall. "Easy prey!" she screams at me. She grabs me by my hair and pulls me in between two shops in a dark, alley-type area. Then the attacks begin.

I was going for a walk when I heard screams coming from somewhere near by.

'"Help me!!"

I shoot off in the direction of the scream and stop in front of an alley. I see a group of girls beating up on someone. That just pisses me off. It was relatively light out, so I got my phone and recorded a few seconds before yelling, "Hey!!"

They all looked this way, which means I got all their faces on camera. I put my phone away and stepped into the alley.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" I walk towards them.

A tall brunette steps out front, most likely the queen bee, and speaks,

"Are you from Harmony too?" she asked.

"Damn straight, bitch." I glare her down. "What are you gonna do about it?"

That's when I notice their uniforms. Fuck. They got to private school. Fuck! I put on a pair of finger less black leather gloves because I know this is about to get messy.

She steps up to me. "We're gonna beat you down like the piece of trash you are!"

She brings her hand around to slap me, but that hand of hers doesn't get anywhere near me. I catch it with one hand and twist until I hear the satisfying sound of bones crunching. She lets out this ear drum bursting scream and yanks free of my grip. The other girls jump into action, charging forward like they were actually gonna lay a hand on me. A few snaps and pops later they're all down on the ground. I run over to the girl and kneel down beside her. I recognize her, but her name isn't clicking. I touch her shoulder.

"Please!!" she begs. "No more!?"

"Shh," I touch her face. "i'm not gonna hurt you."

That doesn't stop her from crying her eyes out. My blood started boiling. I stood up and walked over to where the queen bee was moaning in pain and picked her up by her throat careful as not to leave a bruise.

"If I ever catch you fucking with anyone from Harmony high i'll break more than your wrist!!" I growl and push her away. "Now take your little worker bees and get the hell out of here."

They hauled ass out of the alley and disappeared around the corner, hopping and limping as they went. I went back to the girl and tenderly touched her cheek. She looked up at me with her tear streaked face and fear filled eyes and cried, "Thank you."

"Let's get you some help." I say and gently lift her into my arms.

I slid my earphones into my ear as I started my way home. It wasn't too far from school, so I walked back. The weather was great at eighty-five and a cool breeze.

Matchbox Twenty was beating in my ear, I only put on one earphone.

Earlier today I was invited to this party... I wasn't going to it obviously. Everyone was invited, even the new kids. But I wasn't such a party-goer and I was new. It would be weird to walk into a crowd of people that knew each other, then me the wallflower. I don't belong.

My hair was up in it's normal bun so I had no worries of it blowing on my face as the wind picked up. It was wonderful weather to read a book.

Avery

"Okay Lin what have you been trying to keep away from me?" I ask with an exasperated sigh.
"I...well...you see...ugh i can't get anything past you can't i?" Linnie asked with a groan.
" No, you cant. Now that we've covered the obvious what is it?" i asked, my tone dripping annoyance.
"I was planning a surprise birthday party for you! Everyones invited except for freshman." Linnie blurted at me.
I sigh and shake my head "Linnie I don't want a party. I want a boyfriend. I want some cookies. I want a nap. And i want some friggin vodka." I say with a shake of my head.
" Well your getting a party. And thats final." She say's stubbornly.
" Whatever man. Just know that i'm not setting up and i'll be in my room the whole time." I exclaim walking away.

Being like any normal teenager, I would be on Facebook. It was twelve in the morning, everyone was sleeping and it was pitch black outside. What else could I do?

I was an insomniac... I couldn't sleep. I could always go to that party, it was still going hard. The house was only a block from mine, I could hear it. But I don't know if I should even go.

Bleep. Someone had sent me a message.

Spoiler
I would love it if one of your characters were chatting with Will :)

Avery wants me to come to the party. Of course. It is at her house. She hates parties, I know that for a fact. And if she's asking me to come, it probably means I should.

My message back: Alright, I'll come :) C u in 5.

I reached the house. Cars were lined down the street and lights were flashing through the neighborhood. This place was crazy.

Stepping onto the asphalt driveway, I walked to the front porch. It wasn't as big as my but it was cozy. I hit the doorbell, not expecting anyone to open it. You couldn't even hear yourself breath from the music.

The door opened, showing a very drunk Allen. Wonderful. Just my luck. His shirt was ripped at the bottom, hair messed up and face red as a tomato.

"Will! What the he-e-e-llll are you doing here?" he hissed... slurred.

"Coming to party," I pushed past him.

The house was huge! It was smaller on the outside, bigger on the inside. A TARDIS type thing.

People were drinking from a liquor cabinet, dancing everywhere they could and barfing on each other. Teen friendly? Yup. Good there wasn't any Freshmen here, they would totally sell this place to the police.

My first mission was to find Avery... where was she?

The private school girls back off after a girl from my school, who's name I don't know, comes and defends me. She has them all on the ground, notas badly beaten as I am, but enough to hold them off. She helps me up. "Let's get you some help." she says. "No, I just have to get home." "We can take the video of them I took to the cops. We can get them busted!" she insists. "No!" I shout, "Please, just don't, that will make things worse. I just have to get home." I say. "Okay," she responds, "Where do you live?" A few blocks from here. Her name is Luna, she does tennis. she tells me as we walk. "Scarlett, but you can call me Carly. I'm artistical, not a real sporty type, though I play field hockey." I tell her. We arrive at my house. She knocks on the door. My mother opens it.

"Oh there you are!" she hollers, "What tthe hell happened that you're forty minutes late!?" Luna goes to speak up. "Shut up! I'm not talking to you!" my mother screams. She harshly pulls me in the house and slams the door in Luna's face. She slaps me straight across the face. "Disappearing for forty minutes! I don't think so!" she hollers. "Now whhy are you such a mess!?" "Some girls from the private school," I cry, "They attacked me out of no where, that's why I'm late." "Well it probably wasn't out of no where! Knowing you, you probably deserved it!" She sends me to go clean myself up. I take a shower, and find my wrist and knee are sore. Both on the right side, good thing I'm left handed. When I'm all changed and cleaned up, I go back downstairs. My mother gives me an extremely long list of things to do, as usual.

When I'm finally finished, I put my old wrist brace on, unfortunately I have nothing for my knee. My mother catches me with the brace. "Why the hell is that on your wrist!?" "My wrist and my knee, they really hurt." She rips it off and takes it. "Grow up!" Then there's a knock at the door. I answer it. It's a cop, the private school girls reported me and Luna for attacking them. Behind the cop stands the private school girls with smirks on their faces, the queen bee giving me a glare. Luna stands farther back, on the sidewalk, arguing with the other officer.
