I guess I'll be a good writer and get back on this...
Emmett
"No you don't Emmett." She faced me, sending shivers up my spine. "He loved his family, took care of them when his father passed away. Until he hit sixteen. Then he went mad. Drinking, sniffing, smoking, and fucking. He forgot who he was. He's lost. And I've been trying to help him find himself."
I consider that piece of information, placed in front of me for me to devour or turn away from.
To my suprise, I only half believe her.
I believe that she tried to help him, and I believed that he went awry, but I did not believe that was the end of the story. After all, I didn't really believe that my girlfriend was sane. I swallow that thought, and push it back to the dusty corners of my mind- that was not the issue right now. Drake was the issue, and there were no doubts about him.
I push up the middle seat, sliding over to her. My hand lies at my side, and I examine it on my lap. "That doesn't matter anymore, Janey. All that matters is that he might leave you alone now. Do you think he's going to leave you alone?"
She takes a deep breath, taking my hand- knowing better than I ever could what touchy relationships feel like. "Yeah, yeah, I think so."
I sigh with relief. Over. "That's all that matter then. All that matters now." I don't believe that, either- Drake wasn't the sort of guy you just said 'story over' to. It wasn't all that mattered now; but it mattered a lot less than making us work. So that's what i had to tell Jane.
She leans her head on my shoulder, and we don't talk for a while. I think to myself; we've had enough talking solve us for ages. Her hair tickles my nose, but I make no attempt to push it away- it's cozy like this, and I'm a few theories off from loving it.
Jane sighs, lifting her head off my shoulder to fix me with those sad eyes. "You have to be thinking about what he said. About... being in my pants and going crazy."
That. Well, Jane, I was trying to avoid anything that came out of that... 'guy's' mouth. Especially that. Definitely avoiding that.
Having sex was just a wierd, far away thought. I know Jane was far from virgin- not to mention Lacey- but I'd barely French kissed. It just wasn't... feasible. The going crazy was just a crazy man gripping for some tension, and nothing more. Right?
"No. I try not to pay attention to crazy guys."
She laughs softly, and I slump with relief- crisis adverted. For now. "Right. Yet you still read Shakespear?"
I laugh because, after all, she's right. "Well... guilty as charged, I suppose."
She smiles, but her eyes are still weighed down and sad. She checks her phone and swears. "It's really late for me to be getting home. We better get going."
"Right." I shift the car into drive. "Let's go."
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.
Just read the past posts then you'll be caught up.

Once Emmett starts driving, I lean back into the seat and try to fall asleep. What happened today just drowned out all of my energy.
"I don't want to go home." I whispered.
I heard Emmett chuckle. Opening my eyes, I saw that we were at a stop light. He flipped the turning signal on and we took a left. There was rain bouncing off the windows as the wipers hit them off.
"You always say that. Why don't you Janey?"
"Well... my dad." I shifted in my seat.
He took only a second took at me then focused on the road again. I felt tears growing behind my eyes, not again. Every time I mentioned my dad I wanted to sob.
"I don't want to see him." I swallowed down the lump in my throat. Taking a few breaths, I went on. "He's a drunk. And he hates me."
I hated being the drama-filled-cry-baby-girl-whatever. It drove me nuts. I was the strong one with no problems. Always. But with Emmett, I seemed to let everything out. It was a good thing, sure.
"Why does he hate you?"
"Like I would know. Maybe because I became a fucking drunk too. Maybe it was that I went out with Drake. Or maybe because I never listened to him. But he never let me do anything I wanted! And he always told me I was horrible. I could never make that son of a bitch happy." I let my tears fall.
"He wanted me to take up a job? Sure, got that. Still bad. Wanted me to get into college and become whatever he wanted? Signed up for that. Still bad. He wanted me to be more open with people, stay out of the house? Did that. Still bad. Stayed in the house? Even worse."
Emmett pulled onto the side of the street, parking next to the curb. He put the car into park and took the key out of the ignition. I looked out the window and saw my house, empty, dark, and too close for comfort. My heart stopped. I felt like a child afraid to leave my mother's side to see Santa Clause.
"He loves you,"
"I wish." I hissed.
"No, he cares about you. That's why he says those things. He's afraid, okay? When my sister got pregnant my parents tried to help her but they argue all the time. But only 'cause they care."
"But he yells at me ever since I was a kid! No matter what I did."
He held my hand, rubbing his thumb into my palm.
"Trust me Janey, I know it doesn't sound true but it's just because he cares."
"Sure,"
I looked out the window, watching the light in the attic go off. The figure of my father holding a bottle of beer in his hand came through the curtain.
"Wow," I huffed. "If he'd care he wouldn't be getting so fucking drunk every night. I'm not ready to see him today. He's gonna beat me."
My father tended to do that. Get drunk. And try to abuse me or my mother. I managed to defend myself, looking my room, running out to Sarah's or knocking him out with medicine. I know, it sounds bad. But I had to shut off his abuse somehow. It was a new adventure every night.
"Drop me off at Sarah's, please."
"Sarah?"
Looking at him, I replied. "Yeah, my best friend. She lives two blocks away. Will you do this for me?"

Will: He's at Avery's house. His parents are yelling at him and her, saying they are not meant to be, blah, blah, blah, blah. His mom defends him, realizing, that yes, Will is actually the good one here.
Jane: Just got back from Drake's house. Her and Emmett had a small argument. She's going through some problems. Wants to see her best friend.

A few months later.
I picked up the dish rag and wiped it across the bar area. Opening time was in five minutes so I needed this place to look at least clean before the drunkies ruin it. Putting it on the counter below the bar, I looked at the windows.
The building was in a basement so the windows were small and just below the ceiling. It was cold if we didn't turn up the heating. There was a water leak just a few weeks ago from the apartments upstairs which lead to mold in the bar. It made us close for a few weeks. It was our reopening today, so it was one of those important days you didn't want to screw.
And I had to pay for the leak. Brilliant. Lost a month of pay checks.
My phone vibrated in my pocket and I went to answer it.
"Yo, you are at the bar?" Chris asked.
"Yup," I popped the 'p'.
"Lena and I are stopping by. See you in ten."
"Wonderful," I tried to smile, hanging up.
Sliding my phone back into my pocket, I re-stacked the glasses that stood on the counter behind me. Making sure they were comfortable for the rush. All the liquor was filled, on the shelves above me.
"Will," I heard my boss's voice.
Spinning on my heel, I nodded.
"Opening the door's. Francine and Dan will be here."
Nodding once again, I waited for my co-workers. My boss was one of the nicest guys out there. He was really nice about me getting this job.
Just a second later, Dan and Francine came in from the back. Francine waved and Dan smiled. They had the aprons we were intended to wear so Dan handed me one of them. My name was written on it in red against the navy blue color.
"Hey man," I said to Dan.
"Hey, ready for the rush?"
"Trying,"
We let out a soft laugh as Francine re-organized everything. She was a neat freak in a sense. Always making sure it was her way.
People started to gather into the bar as I cranked up the music. We had on whatever was playing on the radio, which usually didn't suit to my listening. But whatever. I poured, fried, served people what they wanted.
It was tiring at these times, but a job was a job.
Chris sat down in front of me with a dazzling Lena. They were smiling, holding each other's hands as I served them some drinks.
"Hey," I side smiled.
"Hey," Lena smiled.
I looked away from her, feeling my stomach burn.
"How've you been?" Chris tried not to get me angry.
"Well, working at this place and loosing my family. I'm okay." I smiled sarcastically.
"You should have a drink." Chris pushed his drink toward me.
"Can't," I pushed it back a bit too harshly.
Taking a deep breath, I pulled out my phone and saw four missed texts from Avery and Two missed calls from my mother.
Pushing my phone back into my pocket, I downed Chris's drink before he could react. My boss says no drinking on the job. He wasn't here thankfully.
"I'll be back," I told them.
Telling my co-workers, I ran upstairs to my apartment. Once I opened the door, I saw Avery on the couch, talking on the phone.
"Ave,"
She turned, smiling at me.
"Yeah babe?" she covered the receiver.
"Chris and Lena are here."
Saying something into the phone, she hung up and followed me. We walked into the bar and she sat down next to them as I took my place back behind the counter.
They were drinking as I was working.

Waking up to Emmett was the best thing in the world. I smiled, letting him sleep. Taking a few deep breaths, I took in his smell. Which was wonderful. A mix of Axe body wash and laundry detergent.
I'm crazy, yes. Ha-ha.
"You awake?" Emmett asked.
Startled, I said. "Yeah... I thought you were asleep."
He opened his eyes which made me smile even more. "Nope."
I moved closer to his face and we kissed. A soft but long kiss. He kept kissing me but I pulled away, smiling.
"Let's go for breakfast."
"Bright idea, Jane."
Just an hour passed when we hopped into the car and headed for a Diner. It was a few blocks away from Emmett's house. We went there pretty much every time I stayed at his place. My reward he would say.
I ordered my normal pancakes and sausage. He got Belgian waffles today. My coffee, black.
"Today is a beautiful day..." he started.
"Mhm," I hummed, chewing on my food.
"We should go ice skating."
I looked up at him, swallowing my food. I know it was October but it wasn't cold enough for snow.
"You crazy? There's no ice skating rinks open."
"You would be surprised."
"Okay..." I giggled.
We kept eating, enjoying our breakfast.
"Halloween is soon you know." I said.
"Yeah...?"
"We should go trick-or-treating."
He laughed.
"Not funny Emm!"
"You want to go trick-or-treating?" he had a smile on, still laughing.
Putting down my fork and knife, I downed my coffee. He finished his plate and looked at me. His face was serious even though I knew he was laughing inside.
"Come on babe, it'll be fun." I smiled.
"We'll see, alright?" he took a hold of my hand.
He was warm to the touch, as always.
