" Guys it is all ok. Ranger did not get hurt. We do not need to get mad at Steven for all of this. Ranger There is a water fountain right before you enter the bathroom. I will go find food. I might need someone to go with me. I think we all need food and the fact that I do not want to be alone. Anyone want to go?" I ask

"Sure, I'll come, Taylor," I said. I figured Sarah and Ranger could hold down the fort with Steven, even with Ranger being a bit dizzy. She was a fighter; she'd be fine. The only one I was worried about was Steven, because I didn't know him.

"There's a restaurant down in the lobby," I said to Taylor. "I'll bet there's food in the kitchen."

"I'll grab a drink meet up with you guys at the restaurant," I said. Then I turned to Steven. "And... thanks for helping me out, Steven. I'm sorry for questioning you like some cop; I guess I'm just paranoid." But paranoia still has a history of saving lives, I added silently; I filed my questions away in the back of my head. Still, though, I knew that Steven could be trusted. He was one of us, after all, and he had helped me - I owed him. "Now, I am about to fall over from thirst. If you'll excuse me a moment..."

I went to the water fountain and started to drink. I had never thought of water as tasting good, but right then it seemed like the nectar of the gods.

Hey Ipod, I feel like we're ignoring you... I want to try to include you, but what do you mean when you say your closet is talking? I don't quite understand.

Sarah hoped that Ranger would be able to regain her blood quickly. She didn't trust her completely, but more than Steven. She had just met him now, and she had met Ranger several hours earlier. Sarah was worried about Ranger's loss of arrows, she only had one, and hoped that she had more. Hopefully she hadn't shot them all.

"...And this is our last stop." My eyes opened slowly and I found myself on a bus. I closed my eyes to get a couple more minutes of sleep, but I was quickly awakened by a voice that almost sounded scared. "... That means you gotta get off here, buddy."

I sat up and rubbed my temples. "Kid, I have somewhere to be. Hurry it up." the bus driver sighed as I readjusted my glasses.

"Where... where am I?" I yawned with a drowsy voice.

"The Royal Young Writers Society Apartments." The bus driver's face looked very uncomfortable. She obviously didn't enjoy this hotel. "Great place for writers."

I must have been sleeping when the bus was at my stop."Er, wait. I'm supposed to be at The Airport of-"

"Not my problem. Shoo." She sounded like she was about to vomit.

"But, wait, I'm supposed to be on a plane to Chicago with my family right now. They're probably worried."

"Look, I'm sorry, kid, but you really need to leave. I got stuff to do." She looked very worried, I didn't know why she was shooing me.

"But, ma'am-" I began, but the bus driver wasn't going to listen. She gave me a good shove, and I stumbled out of the bus door. She shut the door, and sped off.

I turned toward the building, and my jaw dropped. A white ceiling of clouds cut off the vision to the top, but I don't think I would have been able to see the top even without clouds. This hotel must have had thousands of floors.

I pulled out my cellphone to call my parents, but the power was dead. Maybe the hotel had payphones. I took out a couple of dollars, and pushed through the surprisingly heavy revolving doors.

The place looked even bigger on the inside. The front lobby was ginormous. I walked to the front desk. An old-ish lady stood behind it.

"Hi... ah..." I read her name tag. "Ann."

"Which room would you like?" Behind Ann laid a giant array of keys. A ladder stood next to it.

"No, I'm not here for a room... Do you have any payphones?"

"No, but I have my cellphone with me." Ann pulled out a Blackberry.

I breathed a sigh of relief, and began to tell her the phone number. "Good. The number is 919..."

"Oh, I thought you didn't want a room key..." Ann replied, but climbed the ladder and grabbed Room Key # 919 anyway. "The room is on the 91st floor." Ann snatched the money I was holding in my hand, to pay for the room. "Enjoy your stay at The Royal YWS Apartments!"

I opened my mouth to say something, but I was too confused and shocked to speak. That was incredibly fast. I was only holding two dollars. How could that pay for a suite? Well, too late to worry about that. Maybe the room would have a phone.

I turned to the elevator. It had small buttons occupying all four walls. I found and pressed the 91st button. I could barely reach it. The elevator started going up.

“Okay, we will go there then.” Toby, Sunny and I began to walk down the hallway when the elevator closed and made the sound to tell someone was going up. We all stopped and looked at the numbers on the top. The numbers said 919. “Why are they all at the top?” I ask. Toby and Sunny shrugged their shoulders. “Toby you go stay with Ranger until you feel better. Sunny and I will be fine.” I look at Sunny to be sure she is okay with it and she nods.

“Lets go.” She says. I nod and we press the elevator button to go up. We watch the doors open and we slowly step on. Sunny presses the button to go to floor 919 and the doors close.

The elevator doors opened, and Taylor and I strode out. There he was--right at the end of the hallway. He was lugging a suitcase behind him, and it seemed to be caught on something.

"Stop right there!" I shouted, pulling out my sword. The guy spun around and froze, paralyzed with fear.

"Hands up," I ordered. The guy reached for the ceiling. "Taylor, check his bag." Taylor ran over and started looking through his suitcase, being sure to keep his things organized.

"It's just clothes and stuff," she said. "Nothing interesting."

"Alright, you're coming with us," I told the guy. "There's a kidnapper in here, so we should all stay together."

"A kidnapper?!" the guy repeated incredulously.

"Yeah," I said. "It's a long story. Come on, we're all back on one of the lower floors."

The guy followed Taylor and I back toward the elevator. "What's your name?" Taylor asked.

"Catch," the guy replied. "Hey, do you know what's up with that Ann person?"

"We're all wondering the same thing," Taylor said.

Toby-
Spoiler
It's all going great! I only pop in every so often (this is your SB) and when I do I love reading everything.
Also, iPod, please don't say that.

Taylor, Sunny and I were walking along the hallway when we saw the elevator saying what level it was on.
919!! Who the face is on level 919!?!?
I here a voice.
"Why are they all at the top?"
It's Taylor.
I shrug and so does Sunny.
We have to check this out. It's probably that crazed kidnapper or Ann, orrrrr, no...impossible.
"Toby you stay with Ranger until you feel better. Sunny and I will be done."
I want to go, but the pain in my leg is eating me alive.
I wave.
"Good luck."
They smile at me then turn to each other and take a breathe.
I have a strange feeling something is wrong.
I open my mouth to speak,
"b-"
Sunny gets in first. "Let's go."

They go.

Spoiler
I have serious plot bunnies (sort of).
While they are away, Taylor and Sunny get hurt in some way and the others can't find them. I'm also thinking Ranger can't be found by Toby. I know Ranger isn't here so I might take that role; unless you guys want it.
Au revoir!
There is no such thing as a stranger. Only friends we haven't met yet.

I'm back... I just wasn't sure where to come back in.

Ranger

I lifted my head, wiping some water from my mouth with a sleeve, and found Steven and Sarah still there. "I think I'm good." I felt better enough to be starving, anyway. As I turned, though, I thought I saw someone walking with grocery bags. They turned a corner before I could make them out very well, but I didn't recognize them. "Who's that?" I asked, pointing in that direction. We followed her and found her standing by a door. It looked beat up, as if someone had broken in. I had a suspicion that someone had.

"Wait!" I called as she stepped towards it. She turned, dropping her groceries. "Don't go in there. There are kidnappers in this building." I suddenly registered that those grocery bags couldn't have come from here. "Did you leave? How?"

"Hi Catch. We have no idea what is going on with her. It is all so crazy right now. You came at a horrible time. Sorry. By the way I'm Taylor." I say getting back on the elevator. The others and I step on and close the door. We press the key to go to the first floor. I really hate elevators, but I really do not want to walk down the stairs and fall. AGAIN.
"Are you okay Taylor?" Sunny asks me. I nod my head, but I am not really okay. "You do not have to lie." She said to me.

"I just feel that every time I go some where or do something, it turns out bad." I say crossing my arms.

"That can not be true. You are not bad luck. You may fall all the time, but that is just because you where really high heels." Sunny said smiling.

"I do not think a person can be bad luck." Catch said. Right when he said that the elevator lights flickered and the elevator stopped moving. "What is going on?" He said.

"It stopped. Why did it stop? See, I told you I am bad luck." I say. I sit on the ground. "Our air is going to run out and we are going to die." I say.

"We are not going to die. Calm down. Everything is going to be fine." Sunny said

"Alright, guys, don't panic," I said, trying to keep everyone calm. "I saw this in a TV show. If we can punch a hole in the roof, we can climb up the elevator shaft, force the doors open, and take the stairs back down. Now, I know I can kick the roof out if I can get up there, but I'm not tall enough. ...Not now, at least."

"What are you saying?" Taylor asked suspiciously.

"Oh, no," Catch exclaimed. "No way!"

"Well, what else are we supposed to do?" Taylor shrieked, catching on to my hidden meaning. "We can't just stay here! We'll suffocate!"

"Guys," I said, "I think we have to make a human pyramid."

With those two women on either side of me, I felt like a prisoner.

I hadn't done anything wrong, but as soon as I got to floor 91 they showed up, shouting at me in a accusatory tone. One of them checked my bags. I winced as she examined my boxers, a bit TOO closely, may I add. The other one told me something about a kidnapper as we walked to the elevator. Taylor was just pointing out how she felt like a bad luck charm when the elevator broke down.

And then there I was, stuck with the two in a broken elevator. This day was going great.

"Alright, guys, don't panic," Sunny tried to calm us down, but she herself sounded panicked. "I saw this in a TV show. If we can punch a hole in the roof, we can climb up the elevator shaft, force the doors open, and take the stairs back down. Now, I know I can kick the roof out if I can get up there, but I'm not tall enough. ...Not now, at least."

Taylor looked confused, but I understood what Sunny is saying. "Oh, no," I screamed. "No way!"

"Well, what else are we supposed to do?" Taylor hollered, catching on. "We can't just stay here! We'll suffocate!"

"Guys," Sunny said, "I think we have to make a human pyramid."

I wanted to argue, but that was our best shot at escaping. Taylor stood next to me, and we interlocked hands. Sunny took a step onto our palms, and I nearly drop her. She was heavy as lead. Or maybe I didn't work out enough. Probably both. Sunny climbed onto me and Taylor's shoulder's.

"I still don't see why we're the bottom of the pyramid," I whined.

"My idea." Sunny grunted as she strained to make a hole in the roof.

"This is getting us nowhere," Taylor moaned underneath the immense weight of Sunny. (Sorry, but I had to tease you, Siderea. :P)

Just then, the elevator began going down again. But quicker than usual. Very fast. Swifter. I didn't think it can go any more fast, but I'm corrected as it speeds down the shaft at even more terrifying speeds. The elevator was falling.

Wow, this is fun. I'm glad I joined this SB.

It's fine, Catchphrase. :)

Sunny

When the elevator started falling, I almost fell off Taylor's and Catch's shoulders.

"Okay, guys," I grunted, struggling to balance on their shoulders. "If there are 919 floors, we have about a minute to get out of here. This isn't going to work. I made a dent, but this isn't going to come all the way off. Gimme a second."

I punched the roof of the elevator again, teetering precariously, finally making a crack in the plastic. I dug my fingers into the crack, widening it until I could fit two hands into it.

"Alright," I growled. "I'm gonna give you a countdown, and on three, I want you to let go of me and get out of the way. This panel won't be able to hold my weight, so if you don't get to the side, I'm going to land on top of you. Ready? One...two...three!"

Taylor and Catch stepped out from under me and pressed themselves against the side of the elevator. I dangled from the ceiling panel for a few seconds, and then the plastic finally gave way. I fell from the ceiling, taking the entire plastic panel with me. Dropping the panel, I tucked my head in and slapped the ground to break my fall.

"Yes!" I shouted, popping up. "Okay, phase one is complete. Now we just have to get out of here without killing ourselves before we hit the bottom and climb back up the shaft. Let's go!"

I started bouncing up and down. If I could time my jump right, the elevator would fall out from under me, and I'd be able to pull myself up into the shaft. I jumped, and grabbed the edge of the elevator, sailing up out of the hole. "Come on, guys!" I shouted. I reached back into the elevator. "Someone take my hand!"
