They went up and up. How many floors were there in this building? "Oh, by the way, we're supposed to be in the lobby two hours after we left. I think the others were going to look for Ann." Sarah heard a noise. She and Ranger froze.
We count the bad things in life because it's a number we can manage
We don't count the good things because the number would be too big for comprehension
If I had something to say... I'd tell someone else. :)
Sarah froze next to me - she'd heard it as well. Well, no point in pretending we hadn't noticed now - I raised my bow, drawing it back a little just in case. "Who's there?" I called.
We waited a few minutes, but nothing happened. I lowered my longbow experimentally, ready to bring it back up at any movement. Nothing happened. The person was either gone, non-hostile, or just too stupid to take the first advantage they got.
"Whoever or whatever that was, I think it's gone," I said. Sarah nodded, and we went on, more slowly this time. There were no more sounds, but I began to wonder if they knew we were coming by now...
"We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?"
I stepped carefully behind the reception desk, looking around wildly for any signs of life. Ann was still nowhere to be seen. I crept toward the door marked "Staff Only," sword out in front of me. Pressing myself against the wall, I opened the door slowly, half expecting someone to jump out at me.
No one did. I couldn't decide which possibility was scarier--finding someone, or not finding anyone.
I slunk forward into the shadows. The door revealed a set of stairs, leading down into the darkness. I reached slowly inside, looking for some sort of light switch, or something. I found one, and flicked it--but instead of the bright white fluorescents in the rest of the building, only a single red-tinted light appeared at the bottom of the stairwell.
I strode into the lobby with the distinct air of a man who owned the place. My golden blonde hair shimmered in the light, a distinctly charming predatory smirk adorn my face, my eyes concealed behind a pair of aviators. His large black boots made very little sound against the lobby floor, hinting at an almost inhuman grace. Sadly this was short lived. Halfway across the lobby a strange twitch appeared, first in the left leg and then in his face. Screwed as if sucking a lemon or fighting some internal battle. "No. No. Stop it!" His voice was tinged with a slight growl.
Skully
"No I will not stop." He replied to himself in an entirely different tone. "Get off my body you damned scoundrel!" The olive skin, deep hazel eyes and flowing blonde began to collapse, shrinking in on itself. "Nooooooooooooooooo!" Yelled the handsome figure as he shrunk like a prune before collapsing onto the floor. What stood up in his place was entirely different. A skeleton. In a suit. Wearing a trilby. He extend one hand, offering up a skeletal handshake and strode toward the distinctly displeased looking woman. "Hello," He paused to read the name tag. "Ann." She stared at the offered bony digits and promptly lowered it into his pocket. "Sorry about all that. Lightning strike while I was writing a story. Killed me and trapped my villain inside my head." "And don't you forget." I growled. "Behave. Anyway names Skully and i'll take room 3670 if it's still available." She stood, trotted her way up and down and the ladder handed me the key and returned to whatever notes she was reading. "I must say I admire your diligence to your work. You bring a certain penache and a most personable joie de vive to the job." With that I strode off down the hallway. No clue where I was going. Far more interesting in meeting what other inhabitants this monumental building harboured.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.
Taylor " Toby. Please wake up. Please." The doors opened fast. i did not know what to do . " Ranger Sunny help." I could hear their voises. " Help me. Help." I screamed. I could not move my head. Who entered the room?

Skull, I just have to say I love your character. You said he was wandering, so hopefully it's okay if I put him with us?
Ranger
Suddenly I could hear Taylor screaming. I ran towards her voice, but didn't answer. If someone was in there, we had to take them by surprise.
The door that her voice came from wasn't quite ajar, but whoever had opened it hadn't latched it. Raising my longbow, I prepared to charge in. There was the sound of footsteps from behind me. I whirled around and--
I couldn't stop the cry that came from my mouth. Coming down the hall towards us was a skeleton. Literally a skeleton, walking like a normal human.
I drew the arrow to my cheek. "Back!" I screamed. "I'll shoot!" Would arrows even hurt it? "Get away from us; I'm warning you!" It hesitated. That was good. "What are you doing to Taylor? Where's Toby? Answer me!"
Of course, I had forgotten about everything else. The door slammed into me from my side as the kidnapper ran towards my voice. I tried to turn my staggering fall into a roll and just ended up on my side. Desperately, I rose to a kneel, switching my aim back and forth between the kidnapper and the monster.
"We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?"
Taylor I could hear Ranger's voice in the hallway. She sounded like she was in more danger that I was. My hands were tied in the front not in the back. Stupid people. I took my heels off and cut the rope. Now that I think about it, I am kinda stupid for not thinking of this till now. I shuck Toby to see if he would wake up. Nothing. I ran out into the hallway to find Ranger pointing her bow at the two people I could not see their faces. I caught Ranger's eye. She nodded and I jumped. High in the air landing on both of the people. I knew this was not going to do much, I mean I was tiny. I was just hoping to at least bring them to the ground. I brought them to their knees and ran towards Ranger. One of the people grabbed my foot and pulled me to the ground. I looked back and it was skull and bones. I screamed. Ranger pulled me out of the monsters grasp and we ran. Down the hallway. " Wait Ranger. We need to get Toby." I ran back. " Taylor!!!"

I crept down the stairs toward the eerie red light, stepping silently, in case anyone else was down here. I held my sword out in front of me as I slunk to the bottom of the stairwell. There was a breeze down here--not a cold breeze, though, a hot one. At the top of the stairs, the door slammed shut on its own.
Just a draft, Sunny, just a draft, I thought.
Reaching outward blindly, I found another light switch and flicked it on. Above me, dim incandescent bulbs flickered to life, filling the room with a diffuse purple-orange glow. I glanced around. I was in the basement of the apartment complex. Spreading out before me was a vast, dusty, dank, unfinished room, full of old machine parts and twisting pathways. There were a few large generators down here, and at least eight giant furnaces. Above my head was a snarled network of piping and air ducts, thick enough to obscure the ceiling. It was very Tower of Terror-esque. ...Too Tower of Terror-esque.
Well, only one thing to do now, huh? I kept walking.
When Ranger had started shouting at the skeleton, Taylor had come out of the room, but no one had noticed Sarah. Slipping into the doorway and then behind the door, she saw who someone who must have been Toby. He was laying there unconscious though, and Sarah couldn't try to wake him up unless she could slowly, softly slide the door shut so that the kidnapper and skeleton wouldn't see her.
Hoping that the door wouldn't creak, she slowly reached out and pulled it shut. The hinges must have been well oiled. "Makes sense," she mused, "the kidnappers would want to creep in here without anyone else hearing them." As soon as the door was mostly shut, Sarah walked to Toby's side. Shaking him, she realized he wasn't going to wake up without a bit more encouragement than she could provide. "Maybe smelling salts," she said. Then, looking around the room, Sarah saw that there was door opposite the one she had come in.
Not wanting to surprise anyone that may be on the other side, like a kidnapper or possibly another skeleton, she left the door alone and searched it for something, anything, to point towards the kidnappers identity. The only thing she found was a pair of high-heeled shoes, which meant that at least one of the kidnappers was a girl.
Spoiler
I thought that since no one mentioned my actions, I'd 'disappear.'
Spoiler
After I posted this, I realized that the door would have to swing out in order to hit Ranger.

Taylor I run off down the hallway. No knowing if Ranger follows. No one is in the hallway so I run to the room I was in. The door was closed. I slid it open slowly and found Sarah. " You terrified me." she said.
" I am sorry. you terrified me to." I look down to see the shoes in her hand. "Nice shoes." I say with a stange look on my face.
" Not mine. I found them." she say putting them on the floor. " So are you doing ok? We were so worried about you."
" I am more worried about Toby that anything." I say. " How are we going to get him out of here. He has been out cold for a while." I say
" Well we can't lift him..." she says
" I might be light, but I am stronger than I look."

This is going great guys!! Great job without me! I am still on holiday so am still unable to post as much as I would like, but keep going!!
Toby
Toby slowly peeled open his eyes. He was lying in a dark room looking up at the damp roof. He looked around. It looked like the same room he was dragged into earlier. Taylor was handing above him. She looked rugged, and very tired. "Come on Toby, let's go! Quick!" she managed to get out. Toby sat up, but he was exhausted, and he fell straight back down onto the ground. "Don't you dare Toby! We've been working so hard to save you!" Her eyes were filling with tears as she spoke, sliding down her face and onto the ground. Splattering onto to Toby. "This place is scary, cold and we don't know what the hell is happening! So get up and let's go!"
Toby looked at her, then he slowly stood up, wobbling dangerously. He grabbed Taylor's hand for support and they ran off together. They ran all the way to te staircase (There is no lift) and they just kept on running to the top...
I had barely walked down the corridor before a girl with a bow whirled around to face me, a startled cry slipping out before she regained her composure. She drew an arrow to her cheek and began to yell commands at me. "Back! I'll shoot! Get away from us; I'm warning you!" I paused. I didn't fancy getting arrow holes in my nice suit. "What are you doing to Taylor? Where's Toby? Answer me!" Before I got a chance to reply a door swung open knocking the ranger onto her side, her aim switching between me and the figure that had emerged. A small figure collided with my back, knocking me to the ground. "Well that's quite enough of this," I grumbled, grabbing hold of her leg. She looked back at me and screamed. Why do they always scream? I thought forelornly before the ranger pulled her from my grasp. "What the hell is going on here?" I yelled at the empty corridor. This was insane. I'd been threatened, assaulted, I didn't even know these people! I headed to my room and collapsed on the bed. These people write stories but find a skeleton scary? I dug through my stuff and found my other suit. Black pinstripe three piece suit, crimson shirt, midnight black tie, black leather gloves, shiny black jazz shoes and my trilby perched on its jaunty angle. I almost looked like my old self, minus well skin and hair. Hopefully now I could close enough to them to talk before they noticed the skeletal thing. Enough time to explain. "If not, I'll kill them." Growled Mikael. "Not now. There will be no killing. No fighting if I can help it. You will be allowed out only when absolutely necessary." "Allowed?" My jaw set itself in a skinless copy of his smarmy charming predatory smirk. Some days I couldn't help but think of him as an evil prince charming. "When have I ever been allowed? If I want out I will take your body!" I could the anger edging into his voice, the same anger that usually accompanied another attempt for control. "You foolish puny worm. You only strength is your imagination, your creative mind." He sneered. "My mind spawned you." I yelled. "I created you. You belong to me not the other way round." Light glowed within my skull, the light that kept me alive. In my moment of rage my sockets were filled with flame. I didn't hear another word from Mikael. I stood up, left the room and headed for the stairs. "I wonder what the view is like from the top?"
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.
Taylor " Toby please. We need to get you to the first floor."
" Taylor I can not make it that floor. We will stop soon. I really need to sit down." he grips my hand tighter. I can see the plead in his eyes.
" Fine. We will rest soon." We are kinda running and walking at the same time. Toby falls. I deside this is a good time to rest. I sit his back up to the wall all sit next to him. ''Toby this place is horrible. Notes were sent to me. People have been in my room. There are more than one person after me and I just do not know what to do." Tears begin to roll down my face.
(Toby says this while wiping a tear down my face.) " It is going to be ok. I swear. I am going to get you out of here."
" Toby we can't leave this apartment complex."
" I thought you wanted to leave." he questions.
" No, I do. We are not allowed to leave." I say. I can see the shock in his face.
" What?" We hear a scream from down the hallway. We heard two people yelling at each other. " Lets go see what that was." he says getting up. I still am sitting on the floor. " I will be right back." He looks at me a second seeing that leaving me here was not a good Idea. He took my hand and we began to walk down the hallway. " It will be fine I promise.'' We came to a door where the screaming was coming from and Toby knocked. " Hello." he said. A Skull and bones came to the door. The same person I jumped on.
" Oh are you here to say you are sorry.'' he asked. I try to speak and the words will not come out.
