When Delariva didn't answer, I put the clay away, cleansed my hands of it, and went to bed. I felt so broken, I didn't feel in the mood for working with clay. As I laid there in bed, I put my hand on my heart. My voice was soft, but broken as my heart. "Please, gods. I don't want to be broken forever. Please, bring Allan back to me so I could hold him. I need him to hold me. I need him to heal me." I laid there under the covers with my hand on my chest, falling asleep as the sun came up.

I wake the next night to still feel Kenia's naked body in my bed, I can see bite marks on her neck, meaning I must have fed somewhat from her. I feel my neck and find two holes that feel like bite marks on my neck, I get out of bed and get on my normal out fit since I won't be going clubbing for awhile now. I put on my usual undergarment's a black skirt that goes down to my knees, high heels, and a blood red blouse and long sleeve shirt. I looked like my normal self now, which was a good thing I moved downstairs to the foyer as I heard a lot of ruckus going on I look over the balcony to see a man who I knew instantly was a vampire. He was fighting three other vampire servant's, and that's how I knew he was one since normal mortal intruder's would have died quickly. The three surround the man as I watch him do battle with the three.

"Enough!" I call out.

The servant's and the man look up at me, the man somehow looked familer but I couldn't say from where exactly.

"Who are you, and how did you get into my castle?" I demand in a powerful voice.

Dusk falls and three servants surround me. Without second thought, I defend myself and end up making it look like a fight is what I came for. One of the letters falls out of my jacket before a woman yells enough.

I look up and freeze, as do the servants.

"Who are you, and how did you get into my castle?" She demands.

I swallow, wondering how to explain.

"Arlan," I point to myself, "Just...needed asylum."

I point to the window, referring to the sky and how dusk had only just settled upon us.

"Looking for someone," I say next, without meaning to.

When I woke up, I didn't feel hungry. I returned to my post in my pottery room and began working with the red clay. I sighed as I tried to shape the clay. "Please, gods. Why must I be so miserable?"
A part of me wept as I have while my hands went this way and that way on the clay itself. I closed my eyes and saw the image of Allan's face in my mind. That quiet, obediant, and loving face that I've often kissed and looked upon more than never. My heart was broken and all the pieces were hurting because I miss him very much. I couldn't believe he left me and didn't come back when I needed him most. If he loved me as his letter said, then why didn't he come back to the apartment when I needed him most? It hurt me tremendously to not be held by him. As I told him in my other letter, I was never home without him, no matter where I go.

"Who ever you're looking for, is not here." I said.

He looked determined at me, almost in a hating stare. This guy, had I seen him before? At a club maybe? But something pounded in the back of my head telling me I should know who this guy is, and why I should be afraid of him. Was he a rival vampire bent on killing me, or was it sheer luck he ended up here?

I study her before looking down, thinking. Could I have been wrong about this place? Why would I have been led here if not for something to spark a memory? I notice the note on the floor and bend down to pick it up. Before slipping it away, I glance up at the girl.

"W-whoever wrote this," I reach out to hand it to her, cautiously looking around at the servants who still surround me, "Him."

I opened my eyes and attempted to shape the large lump of clay before me. At first I was attempting a vase, but something clicked inside me and made my hands attempt something else. Whatever clicked inside me, it was alive and wanted a challenge. I saw the image before me and my hands attempted to perfectly copy the image I saw. Using only my hands and eternally trimmed-to-the-skin nails, I worked my supposed-dormant magic on the red clay. After a while, I studied the finished work before my eyes. A chalice, exactly from the Middle Ages. Almost from the Arthurian period, if memory served. I stared the the clay chalice in shock. I had my creative spark back, but how? "Dear gods, is this a sign from you? A sign that Allan wasn't dead, a sign of mercy?" Being careful not to ruin it, I put the clay chalice in the kiln and cleansed my hands of the clay. If my creative spark returned, then at last the gods had answered my prayers.

"Bring the note up here!" I order.

One of my servant's snatchs the note from the guy's hand and moves up the stair's in a hurry to bring me the note. After a few seconds of staring down this man, my servant arrives with the note in hand. She hands it to me and I read it over, and unbelieveably it's from Fidelis, to Alan. But how? This only further's my suspition's, no confirm's it. Alan incarnate has risen in Alan's death.

"Go get me Fidelis now." I whisper in a harshly.

I was about to take a nap when a servant said I was needed by Delariva. I could tell he was a little jumpy about something. His heart rate was speeding up like he was afraid. What made me curious was what was he afraid of and why. I followed him to the foyer where Delariva was. "I was told you needed me for something."

Fidelis and my servant finally come back as he makes his question to me, I takes all my restraint to keep from lashing out at him. But I somehow managed to not do that.

"Someone has managed to get a hold of you're note to Alan." I said handing him the note.

He reads it over and a look of uncertainty swing's across his face, as I nod down the bottom floor to the man that still stood down there. Fidelis looks and still he looks confused.

"Do you really think it's him?" I ask him.

The note is taken from me and a small fraction of me inside feels emptier than before. The man from the cloudy memory stands at the top of the stairs, looking over it. Both their eyes set on me and I swallow, uncomfortable. I say nothing, not sure whether or not I should, and end up looking down.

What am I doing here? Letting them examine me like I'm under a microscope...

I looked over the note. It was my handwriting, no doubt about that. I looked down at the person surrounded by Delariva's servants. He had an odd feeling about him, but I couldn't put my finger on it. If the person was Allan, why does he look strange but give me the impression that I should know him? "If it is Allan, then he would know certain things that I know of so well." I went to him in a blur, standing in front of him. "On the night we first met, there were two other with you and I killed them before claiming you. Where were we when we first met and how did I claim you?"

That voice...

"Garden," I say without thinking, a bit frightened by the knowledge I hadn't realized I knew.

To answer his second question, my fingers wrap around my other wrist, looking at him. I don't understand what's happening when I run my fingers over the belly of my wrist to show him. There are no marks on it, not visible to me anyway, but hopefully he would get what I mean.

I studied his left wrist. The marks were vague, but I knew they were from my bite. "After I claimed you, I took you home and cared for you for a specific amount of time. Unknown to the other tenants of the complex, I was a rather rich vampire. We went to see the exhibits where my works were on display. If I were rich, how did I make my fortune?"

I open my mouth to answer, but stop myself, thinking about it. How did I know these things? The answer becomes clear in my mind, the whip of an image flashing through it. My head aches as I begin to reply.

"A-art," I say, "Pottery."
