I stopped him, "Speaking of going home... I'm not going to be in the castle for...forever. I'm going to the preserve." I backed away and turned around to face Draco.

I took Brooklyn's hand and looked at Christian. "She's telling the truth. She and I both are going to the preserve together. My place was never in the castle, since my reasoning's been ignored since your mother's passing. On that part, I offer my deepest condolences to you and your father. Also, tell your father that I'll send him a message to let him know Brooklyn and I have reached the preserve when we get there. I don't want him to worry so much like he did when I ran off on my own." I looked down at Brooklyn. "Let's go now, B. Our new home awaits." I swept her off her feet and carried her off, resuming our course to the preserve.

I smiled as Draco carried me. "You know you don't have to do this." I laughed. I felt more and more human when I was with him, Like nothing else matters. We reached the city part and It started raining again. I smiled as the water dripped down my face.

When my father and I returned home he was instantly welcomed with open arms. I mean it I think everybody was out in the lounge to greet him. While he was disracted I ran up to my room and locked the door wondering about Christian. Did I hurt him really bad? Is he safe? Is he mad at me? Does he still want to be with me. As I thought these things my phone vibritated in my pocket. "Hello?" I said answering. I had looked at the caller I.D and didn't recognize the number. "Aurora? Is that you?" Christian's voice rang through the phone. I almost dropped the phone. "Oh my goodness! Christian is that really you? Are you okay? Where are you? How did you get my number?" I rushed out and he chuckled. The sound of his voice soothed me and I slumped down on my bed. "Aurora sweetie relax. It's really me and I'm fine, I'm at the castle. When you were eating I kinda got your number from your phone. Sorry." He said the last part sheepishly and it was my turn to smile. "It's okay, I'm just really glad you're okay. I miss you." I said. He sighed into the phone." "I miss you too." We continued talking for almost half the night. Someone knocked on my door but I feigned sleep. All I wanted to do was stay up and talk to Christian.

"Yeah, I''m sure he would at least give it more thought if he knew I was, uh, allergic to your blood type." he said. I froze thinking I heard wrong. "I'm sorry Christian it sounded like you said you were allergic to my blood type." I laughed that couldn't be right. "I did." I covered the phone and did my best to laugh silenlty but I couldn't help it. Tears soon formed in my eyes. "I'm so sorry but that is the cutest thing I have ever heard. You're a vampire allergic to my blood type. It's like fate designed us for one another." I said once I managed to stop laughing. "Yea it is."

I carried Brooklyn into my old cottage and set her on my bed. "You might need to stay here to dry up. I need to have a quick run through town while we're still in the neighborhood. I won't be long, I promise." I kissed her forehead, then put on a black hood to keep the rain off my face. I went into town and found the local jewelry store. It took me over an hour to find the right one, but I left the store with a full-paid diamond ring. Brooklyn didn't know it yet, but I felt so human with her, I intended to have her for as long as we lived. I could treat her like royalty anytime I wished and hold her for as long as I wanted. I put the ring in my pocket, then set off back to the cottage. I was willing to take a chance, so I had every intention to ask her to be my mate.

Draco set me down in his cottage, To take a walk through town I think. I watched him leave and It's been over an hour since he's arrived. I decided to take a step outside and sit on the steps where it covered from the rain. I took out a locket from in my pocket and cluched it. The locket was given to me by my mother about six years ago when I was still human. I put it back in my pocket and awaited for Draco to return.

Some of the team and i had wentout on a hunting party. We were looking for any leeches we could get our stakes on. I was more excited than the rest of them, being out of commision for days had put a damper on my attitude but I was back. I was also a little worried about my daughter. Ever since i had gotten back two days ago she had been acting weird around me. What had I done wrong?, I kept thinking. I had asked some of the people at HQ but they shook their heads at me indicating they knew less than I did. Even Sophia, Aurora's best friend, knew nothing. I was sp wrapped up in my thoughts I didn't hear Mike calling me. "Hey Boss, we got one," he pointed across the street where a vampire had came out of a jewlery store. He stared at the item in his hand, a ring by the looks of it, and placed it in his pocket. i gave the signal and my men raced foward silently. John knocked the leech to the ground but it quickly recovered and pushed him off. Then John came and aimed at him with his stake. The vamp dodged it easily and lunged fpr me. i side stepped and plunged my stake into his back, incapacititating him. "What do you want us to do with him Boss?" Geoffrey called. "Put him in the trunk, I want him taken in for questioning." I said and strted heading for the car.

I decided he's been gone to long and it was time to head out and look for him. I put my hoddie on and pushed through the door, and started walking around town. I went passed, a jewelry store and saw a car drive off. It looked really familiar. It was Nicholas's. I read his mind. He had Draco. It turned the corner and I ran after it. My speed gave me an advantage, but against a car? No. I saw where the car stopped. A local abandoned warehouse right of the corner of Morningside Street. I snuck behind a rock and watched as they pulled Draco out of the trunk. They all went inside and I peeked through the window and tried to get Draco's attention.

I was in pain when the stake was taken out of my back. I could barely move another part of my body as I opened my eyes. I found myself in some kind of room, surrounded by many humans and chained to a chair. I remembered that I was jumped by rebels, so no doubt I was taken prisoner. Although I knew I was taken by the rebels, I stayed calm and offered no resistance. "Whatever it is you want from me, I'll answer without picking much of a fight and with honesty. I only ask for my freedom when this business is over. I have to get back with a special woman."

He didn't see me so I did what I needed to do. I snuck in the back door. When they were in another room, talking about something else, I ran up to Draco and started untying his hands. I hear them starting to walk in and I whisper, "Be right back." I hide behind a wall when they walk back inside the room.

I noticed one of the rebels was holding a weapon in his hand. Cat of nine tails. This is not going to be good. I had the feeling this meant the intention to torture me for something. I read their memories to find out what they wanted to torture me for. The leader was told of a child's murder forty years ago, the same murder that I accidentally caused. The rebel leader assumed that I might've had something to do with the mortal who died seven years ago. The mortal woman who happened to be the current rebel leader's mate. I was sentenced to torture by order of the rebel leader on account of two murders- one that was an accident and the other on suspision. Two of the other rebels undid the ropes and chains, then pulled me up on my feet by my armpits. I knew I was in deep trouble. If they were going to torture me, I was in for more pain than I had with a stake in my back. "Whatever you think I've done, you got the wrong guy. I'm trying to figure it out myself, but so far I have nothing that connects. I'm just a pacifist in all this. I have nothing against your kind or mine." I studied their expressions. Neither one of them believe a word I said, which meant I was in for a lot of pain if someone didn't interfere.

I held the weapon ready in my hand. This was the vampire that had been involved in two murders a couple of years ago. One being my wife's the other one being a little boy. "What's your name? What were you doig outside." I asked the vampire. He looked at the weapon in my hand and gulped. "My name is Draco, I was out buying a ring for my mate, I planned to propose tp her tonight." He rushed out. The vampire was scared. I took out my iron stake and his eyes went wide. "What do you know about a woma named Alexandra Night?" I asked. He shook his head. I rammed the knife into his leg rejoicing in the blood-curling scream that escaped his lips. "You're lying I said. What do you know?" I asked again. I took him a while but he stopped scraming. If vampires were capable of tears I'm sure he would have been cryng by now. "I only know that she is your deceased wife and that she was killed by the queen." He said. It wasn't enough information. I rammed the iron stake through his hand this time. He screamed again as I pulled it out. "Why was she killed? What did she do to make the damned queen kill her? Huh, why!?" I asked putting the stake through his stomach. I didn't wait for an answer. When he stopped sreaming this time his eyes burned red with anger an he hissed at me. "I DON'T KNOW!" He yelled. I was aboout to put the stake through his heart when I heard a voice. "Daddy, what are you doing?" Aurora said eyes wide with shock. She had never seen this room before. I had purosely kept it from her. "Sweetie I-" I didn't get to finish she ran out of the room before I could say it. I got up and went after her. "Get rid out him." I said as my men went to go put the body out on the street somewhere and let him die.

I was long gone before my father could get to me. I had never seen him like that before. He was down there torturing a vampire. I couldn't believe it. I shivered. In my haste to get ou of the house I hadn't even bothered to grab a jacket; I was still in my pajamas. I sat on the subway bench and wrapped my arms around myself. I pulled out my cell phone and dialed the number I had memorized. "Hello," He answered on the first ring. "Christian, can you come and get me?"
