Sanctuary (Started)

Brooklyn|Somewhere outside

I snuck out of my hiding place behind a wall and tried to walk out when one of the guards saw me. "HALT." they screamed.

Dammit...

I turned around and tried to hide that fact I'm a vampire. "Who are you? I haven't see you around." One of them asked.

I hesitated, "I-I'm new here." I said opening the door. They nodded and let me out.

Thank god...

I ran after Draco. "Draco?" I kneeled next to him. "You alright?"

Draco Pacis | Outside of the Rebel Base

I was in a great deal of pain from the torture. No doubt the leader was more concerned about the mortal woman who died seven years ago- his own mate. I was hurting from all parts of my body that was damaged. I looked at Brooklyn, shaking my head. "I can't continue like this. You saw what the rebel leader did to me. I can't get us to the preserve until I'm back on my feet." I tried to get up, but the pain was so excruciating, I grunted and collapsed on the ground. There wasn't enough pain to kill me, but it was enough to wear me out.

Brooklyn|walking to cottage

I nodded, "Yeah. You need to get some rest." I murmmered to myself and Threw him over my shoulder. My vampire strength really gave me upperhand with this. I got to the cottage and gently set him down on the bed. I put a wet towel on his forehead, hoping he would be fine.

Aurora||Train

I was still a little shaken up from the new view I had of my father. I knew he hated vampires but I never imagined he could be that murderous. I sighed and Christian clutched me closer to hos chest. We sat side by side on the train heading north.
"Where are we going Christian?" I asked for what I think was the 15th time. We had been riding the train for about an hour and I was starting to worry. Christian-sensing my tension- chuckled.
"Relax sweetie, I'm not taking you off to eat you, although I have considered it," he said flashing me a wicked grin. I slapped his arm playfully. "I'm taking you away for a few days, to get your mind off things." I was shocked, taking me away. Where?, I wondered.
"But Christian you can't my father will worry, your parents will worry, we can't jus take off." I objected. He gently grabbed my face in his hands and made me look up at him.
"Aurora I said relax, it's just for a few days, it's not the first time I've disappeared my father will be fine; and your father expects you to be upset, he will understand if you dont come home today. Look I promise I won't let anything happen to you, okay?" I shook my head and he smiled giving me a kiss. I looked around on the train we were the only people on the cart. The train stopped and we got off. Childishly Christian convinced me to let him piggyback me up the stairs. When we got outside I was shocked at our location. I looked to Christian who was smiling at me.
"The Sanctuary?"

Christian~

"The Sanctuary..." I said to her, kissing her lightly on the forehead.

"It will be the only place that we can live in peace, no one will bother us here." I said softly.

"But what if they find us Christian?" she asked softly. She sat down on a bench, I got on one knee in front of her. Taking her hand in mine,

"Look, Aurora. Now more than ever, there's a demand for things that make us truly happy in life. I can't really say that I'm living, but I can say that there are things that make me truly happy. I may go to hell when I die, but when I go I want my life to have been worth living, and right now, you are the only thing that makes my life worth living for." I breathed,

"You're my whole world; If we couldn't be together, than I don't know what I would do. That's why I brought you here; if somehow they find us, then they will have to deal with it. Because there is nothing in this world that's stronger than love Aurora. And nothing will ever change that..." I kissed her lightly on the lips, she blushed.

"That was beautiful, Christian." She said,

Aurora|Sanctuary

"Love," he had said. Is that what this was? This joyful, jittery feeling inside of me. I loved my dad but that was not the same way I felt around Christian. So was it true? Did I love Christian? Did he love me? I thought to myself. Christians words were so beautiful and there was nothing more I would rather do than stay here with him. But I couldn't.
"Three days Christian, that's all I can promise you. We can't just run away from our live back there, we are two different parts of a war. My father needs me, he already lost my mother, I'm the only thing he has left. We can't stay here but this is where we can escape. We can come here again and again and again. But you're right if somehow they find us, then we'll have to deal with it. Because there is nothing in this world that's stronger than love." He gave me a sad smile and I pecked him on the cheek.
We stepped inside the gates and were stopped short. The sanctuary was absolutely beautiful. There was grass and flowers and trees and gardens and ponds and lake and river. Things I hadn't seen since I was really really small. I had forgotten the true beauty of nature.
"Wow" the word escaped from Christian's lips as whisper. He looked to me. "Umm... I don't have a permanant residence here so we'll heve to get a hotel room, is that okay with you." I nodded taking off my black jean jacket. The sun was out! I hadn''t seen the sun out in years. I ran off in the direction of a meadow that had a miniature water fall. I laughed, it was so mesmorizing here.
"Come on," Christian said taking my hand. "Let's go look around."

Draco Pacis | His old cottage with Brooklyn

For how long was I passed out, I had no clue. When I came to, I was in my old cottage with Brooklyn at my bedside and a towel on my head. I groaned a little, then fingered through my pockets. My left pocket still had the ring inside. I sat up and put my hand in my pocket. I took Brooklyn's hand. "I know you watched me get tortured to the point of passing out, but it proved that I was hard to break. I promised I take you to the preserve with me and- even through all that pain- I intend to keep my promise. I only have one thing to ask in return." I took the ring out of my pocket, showing the diamond that the ring itself held. "Brooklyn, will you be my mate?"

Brooklyn| old cottage

"Brooklyn, Will you be my mate?" He asks and I cover my mouth in surprise. I nodded, "Yes, I will." I smiled and hugged him.

Draco Pacis | His old cottage with Brooklyn

I fell on my back as Brooklyn hugged me. Just being with her made me feel human all over again. I hugged her back, then after sitting up and setting her on my lap, I kissed her as deeply as I could, gently slipping the ring on her finger. Once I broke the kiss, I held her in my arms and got on my feet, carrying her out the door like we were newlyweds. "We still have a long way to go, but at least we're going together." I tread on with her in my arms.

Brooklyn|Walking to preserve

"We still have a long way to go, but atleast we're going together." He said as he carried me on. I smiled. "You are so amazing." I said back to him, wrapping my arms around his neck.

Draco Pacis | Heading to the preserve with Brooklyn

For ages in silence, I carried her with caution. Even though I was considered a dead vampire to those rebels who tortured me, I wasn't taking any chances on getting caught again. I kept quiet and moved from one place to the next as stealthly as I could. Vampires aren't masters of stealth. Oh, yeah? Says who? I managed my way to a cottage within the boundaries of the preserve and took Brooklyn inside. We made it. We made it to our new home. I put her on her feet so she could settle in while I write a message to Charles.
To His Majesty, King Charles
Brooklyn and I just got to the preserve, after a little snag on our way here. It's best you don't ask what was the snag. I don't want to go to detail on what happened. It's too painful to put into words and even more painful just remembering it.
Also on our way here, I proposed to Brooklyn and she accepted. My only wish from you is to keep me in mind whenever you need something that I can do. I know we've been friends even before your mate was killed, but I confess that I was trying to solve that mystery in hopes of restoring peace between us vampires and the humans. Forgive me if that was none of my concern.
Draco
I sent the letter on its way to the castle. I knew I was home with Brooklyn, so now that she was my mate I intended to treat her like a princess.

Brooklyn | at preserve

He sets me down Inisde a house and I start looking around, I walk outside and see the ocean. I smile and walk back inside. I look at myself in the mirror. I looked like this-

I felt the side of my face. still shocked on how much I've changed. I closed my eyes and a tear ran down my cheek, remembering being human.

I had just finished re-reading Draco's letter and had taken out a piece of letter paper and my red calligraphy pen to reply.
