I turned her around and put my hands on her shoulders. "As a permanent effect of my empathy power, I'm always at ease with myself. Even at the worst of situations, I'm calm because it was what I was told to be when I was turned. I wanted to feel and change emotions, so I got my empathy power. I can read minds as well, but I can only read memories whenever I want to." I held her in my arms again, holding her gently. "I could keep you calm, but I would never ask you for your powers. As a gentleman, I rather let you be yourself than someone you're not."

I smiled. "Thanks." I felt safe around him. I kissed him on the cheek and stood up, I walked inside the house and saw all my stuff, my hairbrush, and a necklace Ben got me for my birthday. "My birthday's tommarow..." I murmered holding the necklace. "I'm turning 20." I smiled again. I looked in the mirror and remembered how young I was when I got changed, It's been 4 years I've been a vampire. I felt the outside of my face, it was more grown up then I remember, On the mirror there was a picture of me and Ben when I was human. "Wow...havent seen this in a while." I held it in my hands. I looked in the mirror again, picturing myself as a human. A tear ran down my cheek. I put the picture down and wen't over to the bed. It was bloodstained. I cried even more and put my hand over my mouth. I turned around and closed my eyes.

I sensed she was upset, so I held her in my arms again, offering a shoulder for her to cry on. Her sorrow was just like my own the night I lost Sarah- deeply scarring in the heart and painful on the soul. I held her close as I used my empathy power to calm her down. "You don't have to be ashamed of your own sadness around me. If you want to, just let it all out. I'm not going anywhere without you. I swear it."

I let it out. My eyes turned Grayish blue, which meant I was so sad that I couldn't even control it. I sat down on the side of the bed and buried my head in my hands. Then thats when My vampire broke out. My eyes turned red and I looked up and my Fangs appeared. I took the picture of Ben and punched it through the wall. My eyes faded back to blueish Gray and I looked in the mirror again. "This isn't me. I don't want to be this. People just use me." I wiped my face. "Like Ben..." I trailed off and looked down. I looked up at the mirror again and all I saw was a vampire. "I don't want to be a servant for King Charles either but the castles home." I frowned.

During her tantrum, I just stood there and watched. When she was finished, I made my move. "I didn't want this either, but it was after I met Sarah when I learned to accept it. Don't think for one minute that I would use you the same way others did. If anything, I would rather treat you like royalty than a tool." I meant every word I said. There was no way I would use anyone for my gain. If I needed something, I'd get it myself before asking for help.

I turned to him and my eyes turned purple. "Really?" I smiled. "You wouldn't..." I was happy now that someone atleast wouldn't use me. I walked towards him and hugged him. "Thank you so much," I said. I looked around the room, still alittle depressed. I walked back outside and lay in the sand. With my hands on my stomach. I looked up at the sky. "Draco, You really make me feel better." I smiled.

I sat down beside her and took her hand. "I don't have to use my empathy power to make you happy. All I have to do is treat you like a royalty and be a gentleman. That's one of the things two centuries of immortality has gone to me. Back when I was a human, all I wanted to do was get laid already so I could fit in with all the other men in the world I once lived in. After Siren turned and ditched me, I vowed never to trust a woman again. After I met Sarah, I learned to be a gentleman and trust a woman who deserves utmost respect." After hearing that Brooklyn didn't like being used, I had to give her all the respect I could offer. I could even offer myself to her if she wanted it. I could care less about other women who would want me for my powers, but Brooklyn was no exception to my list of those I could care more.

I smiled. "Thanks. When I was human All I wanted was to live a life. I didn't make it that far though. Like, when Ben found out I had all these powers he came back and begged for me. But I refused. He like told me I'd regret it. And that night I locked myself in my room and cried." I frowned. "But he never loved me anyway do what's the point. He just wanted me as his toy." I shrugged. "He told me that someday he'll make me go with him. But I'm smarter then him." I smiled.

I laid down beside her, still holding her hand. "To confess, I used to avoid smart girls in my human life, but how can I run away from you when we both have more in common than anyone could give us credit for? If I were to use you as a tool, let a lit torch fall on my head and burn me to ashes. Women like you deserve respect, which something not all men do often nowadays." I kept her hand in mine, lightly stroking the back of her hand with my thumb.

I smiled. "You can run away if you wan't. I wouldn't blame you for wanting to. You hate the king. And you want to escape the castle. Do it if you really want to." I turned my head to him. "I know you want to."

I looked at her. "I don't hate the king. I just don't like the fact that he kept ignoring my reasoning ever since his mate died. Every other day since that night, I've been trying to find out if it was an accident or some kind of plan. I still haven't figured that out, so even if I ran away for good this time, I'm still stumped." I got on my feet, then pulled Brooklyn up on hers. "But if I decide to leave for the preserve, I want to take you with me."

He asked me a question so sudden. "Draco..." I looked at him in the eyes. "You know the castles my home. I don't know if I could just leave. It would just get me stressed out." I held both his hands. "But I'll think about it, I'm just all over the place right now. I still have to take my spot guarding the castle, I still have to organize the kings books. I have lot of things to do."

I couldn't do anything to change her mind. I didn't even try. "Just let me know when you're ready. I'll be out here waiting. If you want to leave for the preserve, just head here and I'll take you away with me. As a gentleman, I'll wait on a woman." I meant every word. There was no point in lying or forcing her to leave with me. It wouldn't be polite of me to do any of that.

I smiled. "Thanks." I dropped his hands and put my hands in my pockets and started walking to the castle thinking.

Maybe that would be good for me. To get away. But I couldn't just leave King Charles, he's like my father, I could never betray him...

I kept thinking back and fourth about it. I walked into the Castle library and started oragnizing books,

Fiction...non-fiction...fantasy...horror...

I counted in my head, still thinking about my decision. I finished and now it was time to guard the castle. I walked outside and leaned against the castle wall, as crossed my arms.

*Sorry I haven't updated in a while guys. I like the relationship developing between Draco and Brooklyn.*

King Charles|Castle

As Draco left I retreated to my office and started on my paperwork. I heard footsteps coming down the hall followed by a knock on the door. "Come in my son." I called out putting the papers away in my desk. Christian poked his head through the door and when he saw that I was not busy he came in and gave me a slight bow.
"You summoned me father?" He asked. I studied his face there was something different about it. Something hiding behind his eyes. An emotion I hadn't seen from my son-or myself-in a long time. Happiness.
"Where were you tonight son? You stayed out longer than usual. Were you wih someone?" I asked firing the questions off. Panick flashed onto his face and just as fast as it had come it had gone.
"I was just out wondering town father, I stopped at a club for a drink or two. I guess I kinda lost track of time thinking. I was with no one." I raised a skeptic eyebrow but his expression remained nuetral. I nodded my head.
"Alright, you are dismissed." I said waving me off. He bowed again with a quick thank you and was on his way. I looked at the clock. 6:28pm. I had worked throughout the whole night and most of the day.

Aurora|House

I woke up at about 6:00 the next day feeling more alive than I ever had before. I made myself some toast and grabbed some water then I went down to the training room to excersise. My friend Josh was down there and he agreed to spar with me for a while. After the third round and my third win he gave up and went upstairs. I continued on the treadmill and then lifted some weights. When I checked the time it was 5:33. I took a long shower and went to go find something to where for my date. I picked out a pair of black leather pants and a red halter top. Then I put on my weapons: Red heels, a red scarf, and of course my pocket-sized stake. Finally at 8:04 I was ready.
We're all in the same game, just on different levels; Dealing with the same hell, only different devils.
