Miss Peterson guided the dazed girl towards the school and saw that many of the other children were coming out to see what the commotion was. She saw Heather on the bench talking to the another boy but the boy in the forest had disappeared.
She sighed, why did all this have to happen on the first day... It wasn't doing well for her power. The boy tending to Heather walked up to her.
"Miss Peterson," the boy said demandingly. "Have you got this under control?"
Miss Peterson's temper flared. "Look! I'm new to teaching here, I don't understand what the hell happened because it all happened so fast. So I don't yet have everything under control. So if you don't mind just get everyone back inside and gathered in the front hall instead of having them milling around."
The boy raised an eyebrow.

*hmmm we'll have to see, I can definitely write that though, their characters seem to be pretty good together.

Heather

"If you're not careful, we're going to need an ambulance for you" Heather grumbled under her breath, dabbing furiously at the cuts
"Can't you just turn back time or something, so we can all start the term and pretend to be like normal people again?"

"Oh I see, pick the only element of the time space continuum that I can't change, never good enough for you is it" he teased.

No, it would be far to useful to be able to turn back time, Heather thought. Sometimes she did wonder about Zaine though, he could manipulate so much; compared to Zaine, Heather may as well be shifting into a Guinea pig.

"Well as much as I'd like to stick around to be constantly disappointed by you, I have to go change so the sheep stop staring" she grinned. It was joking, mostly. It was what she loved about Zaine, he didn't care if she was a Bitch, sometimes she thought he even kind of liked it.

She dropped the blood stained hanker-chief back into his lap "See you at Orientation later, it's at 3 so make sure to be ten minutes late as usual," she gave him another grin, kissed him quickly on the cheek and stalked off back towards the dorms, her long red hair flouncing behind her. It was going to be an interesting year.

Nicholas sat on his bed, thinking hard. This was an unexpected and eventful first day. But on the other hand, he now knew who was apparently the target. On the other hand, she might not be... He became tired, and laid down, but quickly fell into sleep.
He stumbled slightly, the limp in his leg still there. He dared not to look at the place he used to call home. He could feel the heat from the fire, the fire that he himself had ignited. He blinked back tears, as he limped away.

*Can I make a second character, who is not a student or teacher. This guy just popped into my head. It's to help advance the plot. If not I'll delete this.*

Name: Jaden Quill/ Code: 14882, or Base14-Lab8-Subject82

Age: 23

Appearance: Short, spiky, ice blonde hair that is currently dyed black, and piercing green eyes, currently hidden by brown contacts. Tall and slender but noticably muscular. Pale almost white skin, currently hidden by a spray tan. This guy is a deadly weapon and it bleeds from every pore of his body. The kind of guy you'd cross the street to avoid being near him, but if someone asked you why you wouldn't be able to say.

Personality: Cold and calculating. Jaden has a distrustful nature and follows orders to the letter. He is almost completely amoral and will do anything to complete his mission. Despite this he has a glacial kind of charm to him. People look up to him as a natural leader. Jaden is a born soldier and he's risen fast through the ranks. This is one of the first missions where he is taking point position.

Role: Security Officer. One of the men hired to help patrol the school and keep out protestors and anti-powers groups. And occasionally control the students when they get out of hand.

Power: Null, Jaden has the ability to negate other people's powers. As his control improves so will his range. Someday he will be able to pinpoint it's effects shutting down the powers of a specific target, or even simply making their powers go on the fritz instead of shutting down completely.

Weaknesses: Jaden refuses to divulge his weaknesses to anyone outside the chain of command. He apologizes for the inconvenience.

Back Story: Like Zaine, Jaden was experimented on by a secret branch of the military called Cypher. Cypher is dedicated to the control of those with supernatural abilities, sort of an anti-Tarragon. It has bases in remote locations around the world. Unlike Zaine though Jaden was not abducted, rather he was born on base. He's what people would call a test tube baby and he looks on the members of Cypher as his family and would do absolutely anything for them.

When Jaden was eleven he had begun to use his ability on some of the weaker subjects so his handlers made the decision to test his null powers on someone with a stronger ability. Thus Jaden Quill met Zaine Draxon, then six. The two boys were trained at the same base and even became friends. Jaden saw, and still sees, Zaine as a little brother of sorts.

At fourteen Jaden was transferred to a new base where they began training him as a member of one of Cypher's paranormal teams. Four years later he heard about the attack and destruction of Base Fourteen, and believed that Zaine died in the conflict.

A year ago his superiors gave his and four other teams the mission to capture as many Tarragon students as possible. As his first major long term mission Zaine volunteered to infiltrate the school. Needless to say he was shocked to find Zaine alive and thriving and became determined to return the "black sheep" to the fold.

Other: Categorically not up for love. Although he does flirt with some of the staff for the sake of his mission. He's gotten quite a bit of information from pillow talk.

Also Jaden has concealed his power from those at the school. As far as they know he is a normal, although well trained, human.

*If this is okay I wouldn't mind someone else making a Cypher bad guy. It gets lonely being the only evil one but I need the practice.*

Emma let the teacher lead her back to the school grounds, still extremely confused. She felt weak and tired, which was not a good combination. She inched away from the teacher as much as she could; sowing her pace so she's fall behind. When they got to the school gardens again, the teacher was distracted so Emma could gratefully head to the least populated areas of the campus. She decided to head back to her room and see if her roommate had arrived back. She hoped her roommate hadn't; she wasn't really in the mood to see people right then. All she wanted to do was curl up and fall to sleep.
She saw the girl who'd turned into a cheetah and side-stepped into her way, curious.
"What happened back there?" Emma asked, "I'm having trouble remembering."

Spoiler
Sorry people who are in the middle of somthing else. Continue with it and pretend Aurora is asleep, then you guys can jump in when you're ready.

Aurora

I woke up around 12:00 the next morning dazed. I forgot where I was for a second but it all started coming back to me. Tarragon College. I sighed and felt a twinge of pain shoot through me. I wish I didn't have to be here. Be a freak. I remembered that today was the welcome back party and decided to get ready. I showered, brushed my teeth, changed into a T-shirt, jeans and sneakers, put my hair into a ponytail. I decided to try and amuse myself so when no one was looking I changed myself into a black cat. As I walked down the hall in my new body I got strange looks from some of the students and amused ones from others. Someone even bent down to pet me and I purred. I loved shapeshifting into animals, I always felt freer. I was so wrapped up in my own thoughts I didn't notice when I got to the lounge, where the welcome back party was taking place, I didn't notice the person standing in front of me until I bumped into them.

[Anyone can jump in here, remeber Aurora hasn't made any friends yet.]

*Since no one complained about Jaden I'm gonna go ahead and use him. Also for Ms. Peterson's sake I should point out that nothing she can do to Zaine will equal punishment in his eyes if he breaks the rules. Not after what he's been through.*

*Hopefully this will get some of the more daring students together.*

Zaine Draxon:

The first day back at school was hellish for Zaine, as usual. He blamed it on the twelve hour jetlag. But hey, what else was he supposed to do, swim back? He'd lived on a tropical island this summer.

Zaine slept in and had to rush through getting ready. He threw his favorite battered leather jacket on over a black T-shirt and old ripped jeans, and raced out of the, thank god single, dorm room. He shuddered to think what it would have been like with a room mate again but happily, this year he had senior privileges and he was gonna milk it for all it was worth.

He slowed to a jog as he reached the massive lounge that encompassed nearly the entire first floor of the dorm and sauntered into the room as if he didn't have a care in the world. He recognized Caleb, one of the local bullies as he reared back to kick a little black cat.

To everyone else it appeared as if there was a glitch in the world. One second Caleb was standing there with a cruel smirk on his face, the next he fell with a splash in the pool that sat outside the open glass doors. Zaine hated watching people tormented, it was something he had seen all too often. And messing with Caleb was a nice bonus.

Zaine crouched down in front of the cat, who must be a shifter. Real animals weren't allowed on campus. "You know, next time you shift you might turn into something a litte bit scarier." He cautioned the new kid. She had to be new, everyone else knew to avoid Caleb like the plague.

Jaden Quill: Last Night

"Damnit the year hasn't even started and already we've got a security breach on our hands. What the hell did this thing want here." The fat balding Head of Security complained as he scowled down at the mangled remains of the werewolf.

Jaden kept his face studiously blank while promising himself that he would gut the pig for disrespecting his comrades body like that. Sahred had died with his throat ripped out halfway between human and wolf. It wasn't a pretty sight and these so called "Champions of Justice" hadn't even had the decency to put a sheet over his body. He seethed with rage beneath a frozen surface.

"I'm pretty sure this is the only one Boss." David, a short black guy with more muscle then brain assured the man. "If he had friends they would have come to save him."

"No, we wouldn't have." Jaden mentally corrected. "We're only a week from D-day and Sahred decided to jump the gun by chasing a student when he was supposed to be scouting. One of us would have killed him ourselves. Still, he could have been able to keep his dignity."

Jaden thanked God he had been able to get a message out to the others before Sahred had died. No way could he risk contact now, it could ruin everything. No, Jaden Quill would remain on duty like a good little robot until the Operation commenced.

*I might bump up the schedule so be prepared to be kidnapped. Or to go save the ones that were kidnapped.*

A werewolf attacked Heather although she didn't get really hurt. Then Nicholas attacked the werewolf in his own werewolf form, keeping anyone from knowing it was him through visual reference.

Michael-

Michael was lounging in his bed casually spinning a metal star above his hand. But despite his lackadaisical appearance his mind was furiously analyzing the events of the previous day. Seeing the werewolf's carcass on the forest floor had shocked him; not because of the bloody way in which it was killed, but because he was almost certain that it had not been a student. Which opened the question, did one of the new students kill it? He supposed one of the other students could have unlocked a latent power and changed into the wolf, but that was highly unlikely, especially if they beat the werewolf at its own game.

He glanced over at the note he had found in his room the previous night. The Headmaster had written that he should not speak of the dead werewolf to anyone and that everything would return to normal by morning. Michael ground his teeth in frustration, was it just coincidence that the werewolf attacked when almost all of the teachers were away? He theorized that the Headmaster wanted to see how Miss Peterson would handle the students, that would somewhat explain why the lines were dead and nobody came to help.

Michael sighed, and suddenly the metal star that was spinning over his hand shot out and stuck into the calender on the opposing wall. He had to get information on the new students first, if he could find the student the killed the werewolf maybe he could solve this puzzle. He quickly hopped out of his bed, retrieving his throwing star and pocketing it in one smooth motion. It was time to make some new friends.

Lex

I managed not to vanish yesterday, but on the other hand I did remain frozen to the spot until some other student approached me. It was then I faded. For the rest of the day I locked myself in my room and lost myself in one of the vast number books that littered the tiny space. The world around me only became apparent around the edges of the fantasy clad book laid on the bed before me. I reached out a hand and closed the book, pleased that I was still solid. Blinking I rolled over and slept.

The welcome back party the next day was very crowded, which was to be expected in all fairness. I found myself a perticularly secluded cornor and positioned myself there, a patient observer. I watched new students in their first year and old students in their last mingle with one another, laughing and joking not really knowing the lives behind the others around them. In a way I envied them, being able to forget all about themselves and be 'normal'. A boy, well a young man really, came up to me.
"Hi, my names Michael. What about you? You look lonely," He was cute, not much taller than myself with dirty blonde hair. I tried to smile and not to vanish; a. That would very rude and b. He was actually talking to me and not ignorring me.
"H-hi my names Lex..." I looked down at my feet letting my hair cover my face as I was sure I was glowing bright red with embarassement.
