Nicholas was skilled at falling, having done it many times. He hit the cobblestone with a roll, and bounced to his feet. He sprinted, knowing the cheetah-girl could only withstand moments of attacks from that beast. He ran like it was his life on the line, knowing it might be. If the girl was killed, she might have been the target. His target. Not the wolf's. And if she wasn't, her death could still risk the mission. He reached the wolf in midstride, and whipped out a steel knife. He plunged it into the creatures thigh, and it bellowed. It would take a lot more then that to kill it. He ripped it out, and stuck it back into the monster's chest.
He stumbled slightly, the limp in his leg still there. He dared not to look at the place he used to call home. He could feel the heat from the fire, the fire that he himself had ignited. He blinked back tears, as he limped away.

All of a sudden the wolf was being attached by the boy in the trench coat. He plunged a great silver knife into again and again, like some mad man.
Heather stared at the scene in horror, what was this guy doing. The wolf could be a student ,a shifter or maybe even an illusion. She tried to shift back, she wanted to tell him to stop but she couldn't. She was stuck in cheetah form.
And all the while the boy, Nicholas, was stabbing the large beast.

As the strange boy stuck his knife into the creature, Emma gasped, tears coming into her eyes. That looked like it hurt a lot and she felt really sorry for the creature, who in response, slashed at the boy's head. Emma turned away, but the boy ducked in time so he was safe. Emma began to think that it had been a very bad idea to come down here. But now that she was here, she didn't think she could leave. Her knees collapsed under her as the wolf dug its claws into the cheetah's sides as the cheetah twisted away. It was all Emma could do to not lose control of her powers, much less stand.

Nicholas had nearly gotten his head loped off. He needed to be more careful. He whipped out a second knife, and stabbed it again, and put the first knife into it's arm. But he couldn't fight it in his current form. He needed something more powerful. He had an idea, but it was risky. He jumped, slapped the wolf in the face, kicked it, and darted off into the woods. The wolf followed. Nicholas was confident he could defeat it now.
He stumbled slightly, the limp in his leg still there. He dared not to look at the place he used to call home. He could feel the heat from the fire, the fire that he himself had ignited. He blinked back tears, as he limped away.

I looked out the window of the black Sedan at my new home for the next couple of months or so. Tarragon College.
"Ro-Ro, do you really have to go?" my two-year old foster sister, Caitlyn said. I looked at the small toddler sitting next to me and gave her a weak smile. I unbuckled her car seat and placed her into my lap.
"'Fraid so Munchkin, it's to dangerous for me too be around you guys any longer." As the tears welled in her eyes she wrapped her teenie arms around my neck and buried her face in my hair. I hated leaving her like this; we had become so close over the last two years but I had amost did to her what I did to Jessie, and I couldn't take the risk. Not again. When I looked at the website I figured Tarragon College would be good for me. I just needed to be really careful around others.
"I'm gonna miss you," came her muffled voice. I took her off my lap and got out of the car.
"I'm gonna miss you too," I said honestly taking my luggage out of the out of the trunk. She climbed back in the car and I fastened her in again. The tears were falling freely down her face now and I felt my own eyes water. I shut the door and walked around the car to the driver's side.
"Goodbye Helen." I said finally acknowledging the woman in the driver,s seat. She reached over and kissed my cheek which suprised me because she g-had been quiet most of the ride. We nodded at each other and I watched as the car drove away never to return.
With a sigh I grabbed my things and headed over to the building.

The strange boy turned on his heels and ran for the forest. The wolf gave one last swipe at the cheetah, which she easily dodged, and followed the boy into the forest. The teacher looked extremely ruffled from where she stand. For a moment, I thought she might go after the wolf and boy, but instead she saw to the cheetah/girl; checking wounds and telling her to go directly to the nurse's wing.
Emma's curiousity got the best of her. She headed into the woods after the boy and wolf. It wasn't hard to do, since they left a trail of blood and squashed underbrush in their wake. Emma realized that this was another bad idea, but now that she was started on the trail, she wasn't about to turn back now. As she neared, she could hear the wolf growl and snap. She pushed past a large ferns and could just make out the wolf. She moved to see where the strange boy was.

Is there a discussion forum yet?

Michael-

Michael rushed through the school to deliver the final envelope. Finally, He thought in relief, the beginning of school year.

It wasn’t that he didn’t like summer; wearing a hoodie in the heat was uncomfortable, but not unbearable. He just loved the atmosphere of school. Tarragon just felt too empty during the summer. The headmaster had also allowed him to stay year round but had insisted that he do something productive with his time; which was why he worked for the headmaster every summer. However, he also put himself through some ‘courses’ over the summer months to keep himself mentally sharp, and doing those on top of his own exercises exhausted him.

He came out of my musings just as he reached the open door of Miss Peterson’s office. He quickly put the envelope in the ‘In’ box and spun around to leave, plotting ways to retrieve information on the new students.
Admiration: Our polite recognition of another's resemblance to ourselves.

Dopeler Effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.

Confidence: the feeling a person has before he fully understands the situation.

Heather limped slightly. She'd only been scratched but it was deep. The pain finally made her shift and she fell onto the ground beneath her. It was madness. The boy and the wolf had careened off into the forest after eachother. Miss Peterson ran to meet her, looking rather pale.

"Aren't you supposed be like the teacher or something, why didn't you do anything?" yelled Heather

He couldn't show his true form until he was deep enough in the forest that he was sure no one else could see him from the outside. He had no fear of being followed, who would be stupid enough to follow a werewolf? So he ran in peace, knowing that his secret was safe, and this beast would be put to an end. After running for a few more seconds, he was sure they were deep enough in. He stopped, and turned on the spot. The wolf was still running after him. This was obviously a rival, why else would there be a werewolf in the middle of the day? The full moon was the only time they could come out, which was why he was probably a manipulator. A werewolf that used modern technology to fool his brain to turn into wolf form at will. Which was exactly what Nicholas was about to do, as he braced himself for the enemy werewolf.

Emma didn't see the strange boy. She saw another wolf though. Emma gasped at the sight of it. Then she tried to clench her teeth, but it was too late. The moment of surprise had broken her concentration. The werewolf closest to her gave a growling whimper, digging his claws into the dirt. Emma tried to pull her power back as quickly as possible, but it was a slow process, and the strange boy/werewolf took the opportunity and lashed out at the other werewolf, going for the neck. Emma looked away, closing her eyes and letting out a sob.

The werewolf transformation was anything from comfortable, but he did it so many times he had gotten used to it. The stretching of the face, the sprouting of hairs, the protruding fangs, and claws, all worth it. He transformed quickly, and sidestepped as the opposing werewolf charged him. He lunged, going for the throat, and gave a satisfied growl as his claws hit home. His battles never lasted long. The enemy staggered, blood pouring from the wound, dropped to its knees, and fell face first, dead. Nicholas couldn't resist giving a triumphant howl. But then he saw the girl. But not just any girl.

A witness.

As the strange boy/werewolf's eyes locked on Emma's, she had the strange sense that he really wanted me dead right then. She knew she was still at risk of losing control of her power at any moment, so she took a step back. But he took a step forward and growled.
"I'm Emma," she said, not knowing what else to do. She wondered if werewolves could understand humans in their werewolf form. He didn't reply, he just continued to stare at her.
"Bye," she said, and turned around to leave. He came rushing at her, and she instinctively released her power and sent a shock of pain through him. He crumpled at her feet, whimpering and growling.
"Oh," she said as she pulled the power back, "I'm sorry. I"m so sorry; I didn't mean to do that. Sorry." She started tearing up again. She was a menace.

The shock startled him, and knocked him to his knees, and then his whole body erupted in pain. He whimpered, which was something even the most skilled torturers had failed to make him do. He got to his feet, glaring. He wanted to murder this girl. Or rip off her limbs, and infect her. Both seemed appealing. But she was sobbing. Telling him she didn't mean to. His eyes zeroed in on her chest. A necklace. But not just any necklace. A spirit necklace. Visible only to those skilled in sight. She probably didn't even know that it was there. But she was blessed, or cursed. He couldn't get a good enough look at the necklace. He leaned down towards her face, and transformed back into a boy. He brought his face close to hers.
"I'm sorry I scared you." He apologized. She dared to look at him. "I will not hurt you. But you cannot remember this. You have to take this." He pulled a vial out from his jacket pocket, and placed it in her hand. She curled her fingers around it.
"Take this potion, and you will not remember this. But don't take it, and I will be forced to kill you."

Emma was surprised the boy was being so nice to her now. She took the vial, bewildered and looked up at him.
"O-okay," she said. She didn't understand how anyone could talk about killing so casually.
"Are you okay?" she asked as she took the vial from him.
"I'm fine," he said in that weird, calm tone of his.
"You know you still haven't told me your name," she said as she tipped her head back and drank whatever was in the vial. It tasted bitter, but there was another flavor under it that she couldn't quite put her finger on.
"I'm Nicholas," he said.

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into… the Twilight Zone.
