*Marlie*
We pulled up to the House, and my heart sped up. Misery stirred in my arms, and I started petting her out of nervous habit.
We stopped, and without looking back at me, my step mom, Laurie, said, "Get out."
I sighed and grabbed my two bags with pretty much the only possessions that I had in them. I threw open the door, and no sooner had I gotten out and closed the door than she sped of down the road, leaving me in the dust. It made my eyes water, and I wiped them quickly. Nothing worse than having people think you're a cry baby.
Misery curled around my feet, wanting me to pick her up, so I obliged her, and I turned and started to walk to the building. I walked through the gates and through the big oak doors with trembling knees, but I remained firm. I was here for a few reasons, but the greatest was to find out who had sired me.
I was directed to the office where I met a man who introduced himself as Tealmes, the headmaster. He seemed nice enough, an I secretly gave him a nickname in my head. He was now known to me as Headmaster Tea.
He gave me my room key (room 3654) and I went off to find it. I almost thought I wouldn't, because it's such a large place, but with some guidance by other students, I finally found my way to my room, and may I say that it is one of the nicest rooms that I've ever seen. It was small but perfect for me. My dream room, if you will. The walls were a deep red with silver lining, and the carpet was gray. At least I didn't have to worry about Misery blending in. It had a laptop on a desk by the window, and a small walk in closet. There was also a dresser my the door.
I flopped down on my bed, a smile spread across my face and Misery curled up next to me.
I could certainly get used to this place.
