*Marlie*

We pulled up to the House, and my heart sped up. Misery stirred in my arms, and I started petting her out of nervous habit.

We stopped, and without looking back at me, my step mom, Laurie, said, "Get out."

I sighed and grabbed my two bags with pretty much the only possessions that I had in them. I threw open the door, and no sooner had I gotten out and closed the door than she sped of down the road, leaving me in the dust. It made my eyes water, and I wiped them quickly. Nothing worse than having people think you're a cry baby.

Misery curled around my feet, wanting me to pick her up, so I obliged her, and I turned and started to walk to the building. I walked through the gates and through the big oak doors with trembling knees, but I remained firm. I was here for a few reasons, but the greatest was to find out who had sired me.

I was directed to the office where I met a man who introduced himself as Tealmes, the headmaster. He seemed nice enough, an I secretly gave him a nickname in my head. He was now known to me as Headmaster Tea.

He gave me my room key (room 3654) and I went off to find it. I almost thought I wouldn't, because it's such a large place, but with some guidance by other students, I finally found my way to my room, and may I say that it is one of the nicest rooms that I've ever seen. It was small but perfect for me. My dream room, if you will. The walls were a deep red with silver lining, and the carpet was gray. At least I didn't have to worry about Misery blending in. It had a laptop on a desk by the window, and a small walk in closet. There was also a dresser my the door.

I flopped down on my bed, a smile spread across my face and Misery curled up next to me.

I could certainly get used to this place.
We're all a bit mad...

Morrigan shivered slightly as she passed a new student. She was a small girl, appearance nothing out of the ordinary. However, there was a feel around her that made Morrigan want to either get out of the area as fast as possible, or tackle her. 'Probably another vampire,' Morrigan noted absently. She always had this feeling around them. Mutual dislike, she figured.

As classes ended, Morrigan looked out at the sky. The barest traces of pale blue were reflected in whatever shiny and reflective surface there was. She hoped it would be a good day. She really couldn't deal with things right now.

She wasn't really paying any attention to what was going on. Wandering down the hallways to her room, she didn't notice that there was something odd about the floor in front of her. A foot came down-

-poof!

Morrigan coughed and spluttered, fanning the smoke away from her face with one hand. Using the other to plug her nose (the stench was unbearable) she quickly stumbled across the area, all earlier thoughts banished from her head. Right now, the only things going through her mind were profanities and curses, aimed mostly at the demons.

However, she couldn't quell the small part of her that was happy. She hated herself all the more for it.

"What in the world was that?" she wheezed. Her ears picked up the sound of muffled laughter, and she whirled around, eyes watering. Seeing nothing, she quickly left the hallway, headed for her room. The stench clung to her all the way there.
There once was a cat.
He wasn’t particularly fat.
Fuzzy was his favorite mat.
And really, that was that.

Oh, but did you really think so?
Keep reading, it’s just the start of the show!
And as for how far this tale will go…
Well, even the cat doesn’t know.

August~~

"The library?" A crowd followed behind one demon.

"YEs the library, I need some 'help' with my trig," August smiled.

"Oh!!" One of the girl demons behind him cooed, "Can we help?"

"No," HE said bluntly as he tossed back his black hair, he of course didn't notice a pen fall from his hand and onto the floor.

"Hey Aug-" The pen began to shoot out a thick black smoke into the hall. August smirked and took off in a gallant sprint towards the library. HE looked behind him and guess what, no one there. August walked in and plopped across from a zombie, who looked a little frizzed. He noticed the trigonometry book in front of her and how she seemed so into it.

He tapped her shoulder and she turned around behind her to find no one, her eyes went slowly to the front to find smiling August.

"Hey there scout!" He smiled, "Mind if I ask you a-"

SHe cut him off, "No."

"Why? I just needed help on trig problem 12?"

"How are you that far? Classes just ended!"

"Magic," August Smirked.

--------------------------------------

Maria~~

THe hallways pulsed as students ran out, a short brunette didn't really pay attention to the fact. She was busy finishing her creations. The pencil scritched and scracted across the paper, she smudged and erased and then just started over.

"Gah." SHe said as she ran into someone coming out of the library, she looked up to find Rashid, "Oh Hi!"

She smiled Rashid and her had grown up together at the house, since they had been there since they were little and all. Maria had come at age six and Rashid was already there to welcome her in.

"What are you doing?" He peered down at the drawing, Maria thought that he like being taller than her.

"Looking for my room," Maria smiled.

"DO you know where you are?"

"No."

"Did you know that you are on the other side of campus?" He sighed.

"No," Maria smiled wide, "Take me of gallant night to my room!"

Rashid smiled wide, "You never change do you?"

"Nope!" And at that they briskly walked to Maria's new room, little did they know that another person had beat them to it.

"Are you alone again this year?" Rashid asked as the shorter one fumbled with her keys.

"I hope not, last year was he-" Maria stopped in mid sentence as she made eye contact with a vampire, "Hi there!" SHe manged out. Surprised to see that her new roomie to be as a vampie.

Vasha frowned. She disliked most demons, the arrogant little pranksters, but if he really did need help...

She rolled her eyes. "Fine, though if you were able to use magic to get this far... whatever, I don't want to know." She looked down at number twelve. "Trouble with graphing the tangent function, huh?"

August nodded. "Yeah, sure."

"Maybe if you and your friends listened in class instead of goofing off, you wouldn't have this problem. We went over tangents for like half an hour." She flipped back a few pages to the explanation. "Look, this is the normal tangent graph. You have to adjust it depending on what numbers they plug into the equation. So if they multiply this by two..."
---

Rashid blinked. "I guess you do have a room mate. Uh..." He rubbed the back of his neck. "H-how are you?" he asked politely. Vampires always made him feel on edge, but he tried to be nice to them anyways. "I'm, uh, Maria's friend, Rashid." He extended a hand in greeting.

*AliceRose, the headmaster is actually called Taelmus. I think Wolfy spelt it wrong ;) And he's a manticore, not a man. lol. I'm also a little confused. Could we start posting our character's race at the top as well as their name? It might make things a little easier*

Haley- Zombie

Thursday wasn't always my favourite day. But this Thursday was a good one. The corridors of the House were quiet, for once. Not one fist had been thrown the whole day. There's nothing more annoying when you're trying to get to class and someone decides to pick a fight with you.

I smiled to myself, looking up from the drawing paper to take another look at the beautiful Barn Owl in front of me. Ajax was again the subject of my art today, this time being drawn in a pencil sketch. He sat patiently, staying still as his dark eyes gazed around the other students in the library.

Ajax hooted quietly as I finished off my sketch with a messy scrawl of a signature at the bottom. I smiled, pleased with my work, and dug out my art portfolio from my bag and slid the sketch inside, tucking the folder under my arm.

I lifted my things and got up from the desk, turning to Ajax again. "Come on, let's go." He hooted happily and flew silently onto my shoulder as I left the library and headed for my dorm.

The corridor was mayhem. Uh oh. I managed to duck a Trig book as it flew through the air paired with several curse words, and a lot of Ooo-ing and gasping as fists were thrown. Anger flooded through me, washing my good mood away instantly. Idiots. I bet it was a Vampire at the foot of it all as well.

I shoved my way by, slowing slightly after realising I was giving Ajax a bumpy ride on my shoulder. That's how Martin died... I shoved the sad little voice to the back of my head, making my way through the crowd and battling past the bustling pupils.

Suddenly, I hit someone hard, causing me to bounce backwards off them as Ajax shot off my shoulder. My folder splatted to the ground sending sketches everywhere.

I glared up at the boy. "Watch where you're going in future..." I sighed, preparing to pick myself up. But, I saw one of the sketches catch his eye. He lifted it off the ground and had a look at it.

"Hmm. Quite good. Your owl, I take it?" He gestured to Ajax with the page, who seemed to hoot in confirmation.

"That's right." I began to scoop all my drawings up again and put them back into the folder, taking the last one from him.

"I don't think I've seen you around. What's your name?" I asked.

Lexi

"Hmm, room 2681. It looks okay, but it's a little close to the demons' rooms," I muttered to myself as I swung upon the door of my new room.

"It's actually nicer than my old room," I admired, looking at the fancy tapestry and such.

It was big, but not too big. Two queen sized beds were facing each other from opposite walls, and there were two desks with a laptop each on the right of both beds, clearly indicating that I was to get a roomie.

I just set my stuff down when a key rattled in the lock and the door swung open. It sounded like more than one person though, by the laughter in the hall.

I cleared my throat and put on a smile. "Hi, I'm Lexi Cameron. I'll be your roomie and--" My tongue knotted up as soon as I saw that my new roomie was a zombie and her friend was a werewolf.

The zombie came across the room and politely shook my hand. "Hi Lexi. I'm Gwen, and that's Sam."

I looked over at Sam, who flashed a wide grin at me. He was actually kinda cute. I cleared my throat and shook my head, my cheeks blazing. "Sorry. It's nice to meet you both," I forced a grin back on my face. "But aren't you a little nervous to be sharing a room with me? I am a vampire, even though you know I'd never suck your blood."

**There you go willgot. And sorry, I didn't know Marlie and Maria were gonna be roomies**

Adria - Werewolf

I raised my head to the cloudy sky and whistled loudly. Within moments, K.C. came running towards me, through and bunch of trees and shrubs. He slowed to a trot as he came closer and finally came to a stop just in front of me. His gorgeous emerald eyes looked at me happily. I smiled and knelt down in front of him.

"Hey, boy," I said.

He kissed me once on the cheek and sat down, panting like a puppy dog. I giggled and ruffled his brown and black ears. As we walked towards one of the main buildings, K.C. stopped and smelled the air carefully. I turned and watched him curiously.

"What's up, boy?" I asked quietly. He stood perfectly still and continued to smell the air. His nostrils twitched ever so often as he smelled. Then, he took off running, barking quietly. "K.C.! Come back!" I called and ran after him.

He slowed down when he came to a student sitting on a bench, staring at a piece of paper intently. He barked and jumped at the person anxiously. They flinched each time he leaped up and pressed themselves as hard as possible against the back of the bench.

I laughed and shook my head before jogging towards them. K.C. ran back to me when he saw me coming and trotted after me when I slowed to a walk in front of the person. They looked at me fearfully. I couldn't help but smile. They looked so fear-stricken.

"Sorry about him," I said.

They nodded. "Yeah..."

"I'm Adria. I'm a werewolf," I said warmly. "Who are you?" I asked. My smile fell when a new question came to mind. "Or, more importantly, what are you?"

They stared at me oddly. "Why is that more important?"

"So I know whether or not I want to help you," I answered rudely.

They swallowed hard.

---

Anyone can come in. She'll help no matter what race you are, she'll just be nicer to you if you're a werewolf ;) K.C. likes all races though, so he doesn't care XD

August ~ Demon

The zombie explained it well, it was to the point and very blunt.

"You know not all demons are arrogant," August smiled at her surprised look, "And not all are that dumb."

"I never said any of those things." She said not looking up.

"But you were thinking it," Brushing his blue tips out of his face looking her in the eye, his smile widened to a Cheshire cat grin. She didn't answer, "I can read people well, and if you are so bothered by the noise just go to the roof, I think that is always nice."

She didn't say anything as August got up out of the chair in front of her own.

"What's your name?" She stammered out with his back facing her.

"August," He smiled as he walked past, "I sit two seats back, with those inattentive demons."

August walked out, back into the chaotic halls. He went against the flow, for he knew the other demons would chase him down in the end. He wanted to visit Maria, she woudn't give away the fact that she was with him and it would be a hoot if that Alan was with her again. It was always so mean how he treated that Alan and he always felt bad, but it was worth the laugh. He eventually made it to the empty hall where Maria's room was said to be. [i]Weird for her to be placed so close to all the vampies, [i] he thought quietly. HE stepped closer to the door, it was already open with the bird boy behind Maria.

"Boo," He whispered in the bird boy's ear and he jumped up.

Maria turned around and smiled, "Bad Aug what have I told you about scaring Rashid!" She shook her finger jokingly.

"What no hugs?" August said back.

"I hate you," Rashid muttered.

August didn't take notice to Rashid's comment. "Hi there!" A pretty voice floated through the year, "I never got any of your names!"

"Oh! B t dubs this is my roomie, we were about to do introductions." Maria motioned and stepped back pointing to a lovely person on the bed.

Vasha watched August leave, then shook herself. He's just another silly empty-headed demon, she thought scornfully, but she couldn't shake the feeling that he really was, well, different somehow. She looked down at her trig book just to find that she'd completely lost her place.

Another group of rowdy demons was apparently setting something on fire across the room. On second thought, August's recommendation of moving to the roof sounded rather sound. With one last disdainful look at the others in the room, she gathered her things and stalked away.
---

Rashid averted his eyes when August started talking to Maria. That was one person he just couldn't bring himself to like.

"I'm just, uh, going to go. See you Maria." He left the room, books still in his arms. He walked down the hall. She was a good friend, but Rashid seriously didn't understand why she hung out with August. The guy was kind of a jerk.

There was a noise of someone sniffling. Rashid looked over with a frown.

Another alan, this one a stranger, was sitting by the window. She was a little gangly, and her wings were snowy white. The poor girl had obviously been crying.

"Hey," Rashid said softly, "are you okay?"

**Wilgot, that's Gwen. Just lettin' you know.**

*Marlie-Vampire*

I looked up at the people who had come into my room, surprised. I didn't know that we would have a room mate, but I guess that's how it goes. As long as she was nice, I didn't care too much.

When the boy turned somewhat nervously, I saw that he had wings on his back. My eyes widened. I had never thought that half humans half birds existed. But, then again, I thought bitterly, you aren't supposed to exist either.

The bird boy stepped out to, I think, introduce himself, but a dark shadow came up behind him.

"Boo." came a deep, trembling baritone of a voice. The bird boy almost fainted, and he turned around, giving me a glimpse of who the stranger was.

He was good looking, tall with black hair dyed blue at the tips. His eyes were a blue that honestly couldn't be described, and he was grinning with what I couldn't help but call a Cheshire Cat grin.

I cleared my throat. "Hi there!" I said, glad that my voice didn't betray the nervousness I was feeling. "I um, I never got any of your names!"

I'll do it, Willgot. I have an opening that nobody filled, and a werewolf would be perfect ;)

Adria - Werewolf

The young boy swallowed hard. "I-I-I'm a we-werewolf," he stuttered in response.

"Perfect!" I exclaimed. "Now, what's your name, kid?"

"Sam," he answered. "Sam Castor."

"Good to meet you, Sam," I said. I sat down next to him and looked at the paper he was holding. "Can't figure out your schedule?" I asked.

"Um...no," he replied sheepishly.

I laughed. "No problem. Let me help you." I took the paper and examined it. "It's history," I told him after a bit. "C'mon, I'll take you there."

As we got up to leave, something bumped against my foot. I glanced down and saw Murphy in his clear little ball, running into me, trying to get my attention. I laughed and picked him up. I opened the ball and the silly little hamster tumbled into my hand. He shook his head and scuttled around, taking in his new surroundings. He looked over at Sam, who watched him curiously.

"Come along, Murphy," I said to him, dropping him gently back into his ball and setting him on the ground by K.C. "Incredible..." I said thoughtfully.

"What?" Sam asked.

"You're a werewolf," I answered, "and yet, you're scared of him." I pointed to the gray, black, and brown wolf at my side. "And he's more fond of all the other races than I am."

"What does that have to do with anything?" He asked.

I sighed. "Meaning, that he's friendlier than I am."

"Oh..." Sam said quietly.

I slapped him on the back and he jumped. "Come on, kiddo. Let's get you to class."

Maria~ Werewolf

MAria looked from the demon to the vampie.

"I'm Maria and my mean brother is August," August stuck out his tongue playfully and Maria laughed.

"And you are?" August gained two steps in front of him and extended his hand.

Weird thought Maria as she looked from the vampie to August. August looked interested, a look hard to get out of him.

"My names Marlie and Misery is somewhere.." SHe looked around for something and motioned to the cat's tail sticking out from under the bed.

August ~ Demon

"So how are you two related?" Asked the girl Marlie.

"Well we're just really really close is all." Augst said noticing the color of her eyes.

August! Snap out of it buddy! His inner voice yelled. You don't know how much crap this will cause! Remember the last seperate species 'love'?! It's bad enough that your cloasest friend has to share a room. YOu will have to protect her enough

August ignored his inner voice for once.

"So.. do you guys wanna go grab some coffee?" Maria's voice broke the silence, "They just built a Starbucks downstairs.."

August and Marlie didn't answer.

"Know what? I should proboly head out so the other demons don't lay eggs." August walked out of the room.
