It was chaotic in the P.E. room. There was so much anger and revenge. I looked around as the red-head I had helped before swirled fire around. Kaden, I think was his name, had been trying to theaten her. I narrowed my eyes. This was going to stop.

I couldn't do anything. Lighteneing flashed and I was completely helpless. Their wills were too strong. The hurricane gained force. I took in a deep breath. I had to try to stop this. I walked near them, out of the way of the fire and storms fury. I willed Kaden to stop first. I knew he could be dangerous. Then I spread my mind out to Aaliyah. They slowed.

My head was starting to hurt. Their wills to fight were still strong, but I didn't release my hold.

"Stop," I whispered. They looked at my and the elements vanished. I let them go and sighed. Finally. They were glaring at me. They looked a little angry. I bit my lip.

"There is no need to get crazy. Just let it go," I said. I kept calm. I wasn't going to back down, but I wasn't going to fight them either.

Quin lay in the undergrowth a few hundred feet away. His wing throbbed painfully by his side and he cursed his stupidity. You shoudl never fly near an elementilist, it was a well known fact.

He tried to shift back, if he could only get on his feet then he would be able to get to the medical office but the pain made shifting to hard to concertrate on. He tried screeching again but the angle he had landed forced his beak into the soil, so any noise came out in a muffle.

Quin knew soon enough one of the telepathics would pick him up but for now he lay motionless on the grass, waiting.

Sonnet

She realised that she'd upset Quin, as he escaped out the window. The fight was over and many of the pupils no longer felt like practicing, dispite what the professor wanted them to do.
Ignoring the professors calls, she scaled the PE hall wall effortlessly, flinging herself from the top and landing on the ground with a thud.
She didn't expect to see the carnage in front of her...
A broken mess of black and white feathers lay crumpled on the ground. She screamed, the terrifying roar that caused Kaden and Aaliyah to stop dueling and cover their ears with their hands. She shifted forms, running over to Quin, her eyes wet when she saw his wing, bent out of shape in the most disgusting way.
She stroked his feathery face, while a tear slipped down her cheek."Oh, Quin!" He opened an eye and looked up at her silently, before closing it again.
She whirled around to face Kaden.
"Ha, there you are, the girl I wanted to see!" he spat at her, crossing the space between them with long, confident strides. She started to back away, her hands raised in a defensive gesture. Aaliyah looked at Sonnet from behind Kaden, flames burning menacingly at her fingertips.
"Sorry about your bird friend, he got in the way," he sneered.
Sonnet's heart fell short a beat, as her anger started to reach danger levels.
He did that to Quin! her conscience yelled at her. Get him! Her arms dropped to her sides, her fists now clenched so tight her nails drew blood from her palms.
Kaden reached for her T shirt and drew her in closer, so that she was facing him, barely inches away from his face. Her heart pumped madly as she struggled to free herself. The anger inside her was bigger than the fear; it bullied fear into pulp until rage was the sole feeling she had.
Within seconds, Kaden was face to face with a raging serval held by the fur on it's chest. Sonnet yowled and spat at him as the fur on her chest was ripped off by his tight hold.
She raised a paw, her insanely sharp claws extending and slashing across Kaden's face.
He yelled and flung her, but she landed neatly on her four paws, guarding Quin behind her. She shrieked and screamed like a tortured soul, the sound wringing in the ears of everyone and making them shiver.
Kaden covered the stinging slash, cursing at her.
"I'll not be beaten, this time!"
And with that, the perfect storm of rage burst upon her.
She dug her claws into the dirt and held on tight as wind and hail beat her into the now sodden grass. Her once golden fur was now coated in mud as a thousand needles of rain punished her deeper into the mud, untill she was knee deep in the cold earth.
A huge tongue of fire smacked Kaden in the back of the head as she yelled out.
This is all my fault, she cried out, but only a yowl escaped her lips as the battle raged on.

Kaden and Aaliyah had stopped fighting and a yell sent us flying out to see. It was a girl, standing by, what appeared to be, Quinn. I didn't know either of them well, but I knew this would cause a fight.

The girl transformed into a graceful cat-like animal. I was surprised, but that immediatly turned to horror. They started fighting. There was blood and storms. I couldn't take this. I had to do something. Their wills were incredibly strong, but so was mine. I forced myself into their minds but they wouldn't stop. I clutched my head. It hurt!

"STOP!" I sccreamed aloud and in their minds. Everything stopped. Everyone stopped. They stared at me. My power had taken control, but I had also attracted a lot of attention. I looked towards the ground, my blonde hair blocking my red face. They didn't understand. I couldn't stand violence. If they knew my past...I stopped. Don't think about it. Just stop what's going on now.

I saw Sonnet change and rake Jadens face. I was going to kill him, i was going to bloddy kill him. I grabbed a rock in each hand charged and about to throw when someone shouted "STOP!"
Everyone turned looking for the source of the shout but i just ran full on toward Jaden and Sonnet now stood motionless. He hit a girl. That is not nice. And now i was gonna make him pay. I hurled both rocks at his head and they blew up inches from his face shards of molten rock crashing into his face.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.

Quin raised his head gingerly from the undergrowth. Sonnet's gangily long legs stood protectivly infront of him, Stilts, he smiled inside him head. Kaden and the Aaliyah girl where standing blazed apart, both pairs of eyes seemed fixated onto Ashlyn.
She must be controlling them, Quin huffed as his wing twinged painfully. The bone was healing back fast but he still couldn't concertrate enough to shift. If Ashlyn was controlling them then surely she would be able to help him shift, thought Quin as the last bone in his wing clicked together. Kaden's face was an alarming red with rage as the three figures stood in a weird kind of triangle facing eacother, waiting for someone to make the next more. The fragments of skin on Quin's wing knotted back together and he flexed his muscles nervously. Everything seemed in working order, it seemed Shifters healed resonably quickly. Quin rolled onto his side and stretched out his wings, shaking out the new bone.
Sonnet spun around to face him, her cat eyes etched with worry.
He shot his best attempt at an eagle smile, and she grinned back at him.
Quin got up carefully and shifted back, glaring hard at Kaden as he stroked Sonnet's fur gratfully. "Thanks for that." Quin muttered, holding up his arm to Kaden.
"Go fly away home birdie." Kaden growled, though his hands remained pined to his side, obviously the work of Ashlyn.
"Yeah well keep your hands of my friends." Quin spat back, surprising himself.
He wasn't usually passive, keeping his head down when any danger came his way. But when he saw Sonnet standing over him, protecting him at his most vunerable point something clicked in his mind. He should be protecting her.

Mikael

Kaden flew past Quin and Sonnet landing in a bloody heap.
"You don't hit ladies" i roared as i divbed between them landing on his chest and pummeling his face before he could react.
"Never EVER hit a lady" i howled punctuating each word with a vicious punch. I dragged him up onto his knees before savagely kicking him in the face. I hated Kaden, we had a lot of history and all of it bad. I walked angrily past Quin and Sonnet leaving Jaden to bleed and moan. I heard him whisper something and i spun around.
"Shut up you pip squeak or i will come back over there and finish the god damn job myself!" I turned and walked off toward the crowd of people.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.

"shit" I said as Mikael through two charged rocks at Kayden I dived to try and stop him not because I liked Kayden but he shouldn't die, I was too late though and the rocks blew up and Kayden fell to the floor clutching his face. Then he got up and raised a hand but again someone shouted stop. This time it was obvious who said it and Kayden turned on her in the sky I could see lighting brewing above Kayden. I dived in front of her as a blast of lighting shot from Kayden. It hit me and I crashed into her knocking her over.

"Sorry, sorry" I said getting up and wiping my self off.

"are you okay" The girl said, I nodded and turned around. I could feel the charred flesh healing.

"Is it done yet?" I asked.

"no but its kinda disgusting" she said and then with a flash of fire I remembered that their was a battle going on.

Sonnet

Her eyes darted as she watched both men leave, a wave of fear flattening her fur to make herself seem small. She watched Mikael go, crouching low on the ground. When she shot a worried glance at Quin, he looked up suddenly and appeared to be annoyed about something. She meowed gently, rubbing her tail against his legs.
He crouched down and stroked her face with his index finger. "I'm sorry for flying off like that." She blinked slowly, her emerald eyes brimming with wetness a little.
"You're... crying?" he said, perplexed as a tear rolled down her spotted face. She looked down and refused to meet his gaze.
This is all my fault she mumbled, but of course only a small garbled meow left her throat. Her chest felt as if someone had clamped down on it with a cold, icy fist of hurt and shame. Another tear rolled down past her whiskers as she brushed it away with a swift paw. She put her ears back and hung her head low to the dirt, body language for 'sorry.' Quin knew her well enough to fathom this gesture.
"Sonnet, shift back," he said in a soft voice, but even his soothing voice could not coax her to shift. She leaned against his leg, taking in his lovely warm scent that could only be described as home.
Sonnet knew she was for it now. She had pushed Kaden to the limit and she could sense the blast of powerful loathing that emmited from his cold eyes.
"Let me take you back to your dorm room," he asked, his face etched with puzzlement and apprehensiveness. She nodded quietly, standing and stretching out her spindly legs and walking with him her her dorm, wishing with every cell of her body that this nightmare would end.

Victor was not happy. He had seen his mentor, Dr. Mason, to tell him about his "success". Then the fight broke out, a chance for Victor to test himself - but, no, Dr. Mason wouldn't let him go and nullify everyone's abilities and end the chaos. His ability had been reversed by someone else, so he could have made things worse.

"Complete twat." Victor muttered to himself.

Dr. Mason had just left the room to deal with the fight, locking the door on his way out to ensure that Victor would not go to join the fight.

As if that's going to stop me, Victor thought, looking at the open window. He contemplated climbing out - a two storey fall if it went badly, but it didn't seem like too much of a challenge. Eventually, he decided to climb out, and immediately headed towards the catastrophic noises which he assumed to be a result of the battle.

Quin looked down at Sonnet as they walked in silence towards the dorm. Her eyes where wide as she stared forward away from him. He was shocked at her display of emotion, and yet touched at the same time. Never had he thought Sonnet was even capable to expressing that care, such emotion for another human being, let alone Quin. They all had reservations here at Tarragon, especially Sonnet.
He couldn't help himself. He gently reached down and closed his palm around hers, joining them together in such a simple gesture that he knew meant so much.

(I don't know how she'll react, I think I'll leave that up to you)

Aaliyah

Everyone's eyes seemed to be on Quin and Sonnet as they walked away. When they were gone I turned my gaze on Kaden. He stared back at me. the powerful winds around us began to dull and once again he was just a kid. A jerk, but a kid. My own anger evaporated as quickly as it had come. Our fight was over, and I would not be prevoked into another one.

"You're not the only one who matters Kaden and you're not the only one who's had a hard life so back off, okay? " I said. I watched him snear at me then I turned and walked away. This was more than enough excitement for one day.
never understood why things can't work out in life like they do in the movies... I guess I'm just a hopeless romantic...
