sounds good can I start the first one? hum maybe it should be like a "mix and mingle" thing where the goal is for the kids to meet each other...

Aaliyah

The last thing anyone wanted to do, once was got to the end of the day, was to make small talk. Apparently, thats exactly what the stupid people who ran this place wanted us to do. A "mix and mingle" night because they felt we weren't close enough to each other. Well what do they expect when they bring people like Kaden here? God I was so tired of this place I needed a way out and I needed it fast. Well they couldn't keep me here if I refused to use my powers. It might get me in trouble at first but eventually I'd be sent home. It was worth a try at least. I looked at the clock. 7:15 - crap I was late for this stupid night. I hurried out of my dorm and down the hallway to the room they'd said it was in. Opening the doors I saw everyone sitting down listening to our headmaster speak. Ashlyn noticed me standing there awkwardly and motioned for me to sit beside her
"Hey Aaliyah"
"Hey Ashlyn, did I miss anything?" she shook her head.
"Absolutely nothing. It's all just pointless babble. They are going to let us talk after though.."
"cool." I motioned to the guy sitting on her other side. "who'se this?"
" I'm Mattias,"
"Nice to meet you."
never understood why things can't work out in life like they do in the movies... I guess I'm just a hopeless romantic...

Sonnet

Sonnet stared at the ceiling of her dorm, her mind heavy with thoughts of the moment before. She didn't know what to make of it. If Sonnet didn't know a reason behind something or the meaning of another, she would quickly resolve it by using Wikipedia. Not this time anyway. She had a feeling that typing, 'Quin held my hand, omg, what do I do?' into the search option box would not yield any results. She laughed at herself silently as darkness descended on her room.
This room was her own small space where she could just chill and not worry, but she just couldn't keep still. She closed the laptop over, setting it beside her bed and pacing the room in puzzlement. After she had passed her shelf of CDs and records so many times that her head span, she decided it was time to act. Reaching for the phone on her bedside table, she dialed Quin's dorm number and twisted the phone cord around her fingers nervously as it rang. She was tempted to hand up; what would she even say to him if he answered? Luckily, she put the phone on the receiver again when she remembered it was 'Meet and Greet' night. He'd probably be there, if not, flying around the school grounds in his eagle form.
She sighed, sitting back on her bed again. So what was she going to so with herself while the others were all gone?
Then, she remembered something. Something she hadn't done in a while, something that she enjoyed.
Something that she missed.
She opened her dorm window, switching into her serval form and climbing out. She dropped to the ground, landing gracefully on all fours before heading to one of the distant classrooms. She yowled in victory when she saw the window was open. She scaled the wall with ease, slipping through and landing silently on a desk. The whole room was as dark as a deep sea trench, one strip of moonlight sending a white bar across the empty room, leading straight to her objective.
She shifted again, strolling across the deserted classroom towards the upright piano in the centre. Her fingers slid across the keys, stopping at middle C, where she pressed down on it. The sound rang in the empty room.
Looking around her to make sure she was alone, she sat in front of the black and white keys and placed her hands on them.
The pale ivory was illuminated by the light and she was glad she wouldn't have to turn any lights on.
She sighed as her hands started to move across the keys, playing a soft, slow tune. She stopped abruptly when making a mistake; but started again and played the beautiful melody until it finished with a lingering note.
She frowned slightly, playing with the keys a little, trying to remember how to play this song she heard recently... she shook her head as it refused to come to mind. Instead, she started to play an old favourite that she had written a while ago. She knew this one well.
Her hands started to move as she began to play. She smiled, as the delicate notes hung in the air and echoed in the emptiness around her. This was something that she did on her own. Music was the only thing that kept her living back in those dark, murky days, long before she met Quin. Even he didn't know about her talent. It was just something she learned and practised on her own, and has stayed that way ever since...
Suddenly, her acute hearing alerted her to a sound outside. The song was cut off as she stood, shifting so fast it hurt her head. She hid under the piano, trying to be as quiet as she could.
Someone had been listening to her...

'Meet and Greet', what the hell were the teachers thinking? After the fight in the cafeteria and that 'nasty scuffle' earlier, how had they not realised people were not getting on? Still i had dressed up and headed toward the 'mix and mingle'. As i wandered through the empty corridors i heard sweet music coming from one of the rooms. As i got closer to the source it cut off abruptly.
Oh well, i thought, maybe Sonnet will be there. She seemed nice enough. Anyway the least she could do was talk to me after i stopped Jaden beating on her.
Jaden. That name, that name that followed me around this place ever since our first scuffle all those months ago. Rumours and stories had twisted the truth to the point where I had supposedly started the fight and his lighting of my coat had been an accident. Accident my ass. And now i would make him pay for it every chance i got. I felt in my pocket for my deaths head ring. It had been a gift from my Mom and i had been charging it a little everyday since i was a child. By now i was fairly sure i could take down a country with it. Not that i ever would. But someday i would put on that ring, absorb its energy and blast Jaden and his morons into a billion tiny peices. That would be a day to remember.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.

Victor went to the 'Meet&Greet' in a somewhat foul mood. The advice he had managed to gain from Ashlyn was of no use at all. Not that it was her fault, of course. He guessed that she must have felt like she was trying to teach a dog to walk on two legs - it came naturally to her, but not to him. He had spoken to Dr. Marson who, after telling Victor off severely, advised him to ask anyone else who had been present when he enhanced Aaliyah's power, as they may have 'felt' something.

In the hall, he looked for Aaliyah, being the obvious next choice for understanding his power. He saw her sitting next to Ashlyn. He resolved to talk to Aaliyah about his power once the headmaster had stopped talking - in the meantime, he ignored the head and pondered.
I refuse to acknowledge the existence of this signature.

"meet and greet"

I was not sure if i want to come but by the number of students that are appearing, i just had to. My doctor's appointment had just finished and all the same, he was much appreciated on how fast i heal. He was just wondering if that is the only thing i can do? Other than that, i felt a little bit weird after he scrape my skin off numerous times.

i walked silently to the hall with my cap on my hands. It was deathly silent at the hall when i heard a faint melody coming from one the classrooms. It sound like a thud and though i was afraid, i cannot beat my own curiosity.

I opened the door. I was surprise that it was unlock. and i saw a piano. It was a black piano beautifully laid at the cente of the room. I went a few steps toward it and saw a small figure hiding beneath teh piano.

The girl looked at me and i step back trying to process the words on what to say.

"H...Hi, wh...what are you doing?"

teh girl stood up. SHe gave a sigh that it was not the teacher but she still felt dissapointed of being seen. I had hoped i did not scare her or anything. I just hate to get into a fight.

Sonnet

She shifted back again, blushing with embarrassment. She should have waited until all the school was safely at the Meet anf Greet... Then she wouldn't have been interupted.
"I... I wasn't doing anything." Her voice was a little shaky and apprehensive.
The girl raised an eyebrow. "You were playing the piano by the sounds of it. I thought you weren't alowed into the music rooms outside of class?"
The back of Sonnet's neck prickled a little. She should have just gone to the stupid thing, rather than get into this.
"I... I'm sorry, excuse me a moment," she muttered, half running to the door.
"Wait," The girl said, grabbing her arm as she tried to escape into the harsh lights of the corridor.

Quin
Quin looked out onto the lone night. The clouds seemed to off rolled to the side, revealing hosts of new stars he'd never seen before. He was perched on the old oak, hidden from prying eyes in the decrepit branches. From his view he watched small groups of students pass in and out of the hall, some strung balls of lightening at their heels, others sunk into the background or missed the door all together, evaporating through the walls. Sonnet wouldn't come to the meeting, the only way she'd ever step into the hall was if he was dragging her. Quin on the other hand made a habit to attend, it was a chance to observe everyone from a close proximity he never got normally. You can't make the best judge of character from fifty feet in the air.

He dropped casually off the branch and soared in through the open doors, startling some juniors. The hall was already brimming to burst, with no chairs available people where starting to file out onto the floor instead. Quin laughed to himself before resuming his place high up in the rafters, it was easier this way. He could watch over the audience without them noticing him. Other than Sonnet though no one would really care if he was here, no one would look up and wave at him. He was a misfit even in the school of misfits and he couldn't be more aware of it. Yet in his lonesome, somehow he seemed to have found someone, be some miracle someone had wanted him. It was why It felt so right in the clearing with Sonnet, that perfectly natural step that made sense to Quin to take right there.

A sharp voice cut through his thoughts, It was the head.
"Now now!" His shrill voiced echoed throughout the hall "Settle down."
The head was a large pale faced man with big rimmed glasses and little grey hair to speak of, Quin had never really liked his appearence but behind that layer of glass everyone could see his kind old eyes.It was impossible to hate those eyes. They were the kind that reminded you of grandparents and christmas with bustling relatives.
The hall eventually quietened and he resumed his place on the stage "Now as you know there was a confrontation on the west side."
Quin noticed the students intake a breathe, eyes glued to the old man "I do not tolerate violence in my school, or any school for that matter. These childish squabbles will stop, I will make sure of it. Now, anyone involved in the fight can either come to my office after meeting or be ratted out by Mrs Bryden"
A loud pronounced gulp seemed to radiate throughout the audience, everyone new the schools telepath Mrs Bryden, she was the strongest he'd ever seen. Hardly anyone got past her.
Quin tried to pick out faces from the fight. Aaliyah and Ashyln where sitting close to the back but Kaden was nowhere to be seen.

Ashlyn

Why did I go to this stupid thing in the first place. It was pointless to me. I sighed and rested my head on my hand. I rolled my eyes. Aaliyah seemed nice, but I just wasn't the freind type. I loved to meet new people and I loved to talk, I just prefered to be alone. Oh the irony.

"I think that maybe I can sneak out," I whispered to Aaliyah and Matthias. Aaliyah tilted her head to the side, questioning.

"It dosen't matter," I responded, shrugging. "Technically I'm not supposed to use my powers right now. Probably has to do with earlier." I blushed. Aaliyah had been there. I didn't want her to think I was so weak. I just got massive headaches when I used my power to control more than three people. And I was attempting to control around four or five.

"It can't be too bad," she responded. I shrugged.

"I don't know. I'm just not that into crowds." I smiled to myself.

It was my first day at this "college" and there has already been two fights, both with some jerk named Kaden. I decide to try to avoid him, since he seemed to enjoy fighting girls. Most of the people here seemed to be experienced with there powers, it was strange how so many people had powers. . .I wonder how the government found out. I know the only reason I'm here is because my parents couldn't harness my powers properly, and had no need for me any more. I looked around the "mix and mingle" so many of us were just sleeping.

"Hi, I haven't seen you before are you new?" it took me a minute to realize the voice was talking to me I looked back to see. . .

(some one please jump in. . .I didn't know who wanted to talk to the new girl)

IClISA

I did not know what i did but when i held her arm just before she could ran out of the corridor.

"Let me go," she bellowed out, "I need to go to the hall."

I did not know what to say. I just grip her arm firmly until the first words, came out of my mouth, "Can you at least come with me to the meeting?"

"What are you talking about?" she said.

"I'm a bit lost." i said and begged at the same time . "I had just came here and i was still not adapted to life here. I need at least to have some guide. I promise not to tell anyone about this."

i let go of her arm and stood there biting my lip very surpirse that i had said that. I was really not into doing this and at that time, it felt as if the words had just came out freely from my mouth without me thinking about it.

"Fine, but don't tell anyone about this okay?" she asked me. She was not sure if she could trust me but i tried not to think about it.

"Sure," i said weakly sa we walked out of the room. I checked the doors again and sure of it, itw as locked. We began walking towards the hall. Her leding me while i walked a few paces behind her.

"What is your name?" she asked me.
"i...IClisa, Iclisa Nadean." i replied her as i can see the hallway before me.
"Sonnet," she said as we were bear it. "My name is Sonnet."

Sonnet

"Here's the hall, Iclisa. Have fun," Sonnet said, turning on her heel and heading for the door again, half expecting her to grab her arm again. The girl sighed sadly instead, making her flinch and stop in her tracks. She turned slowly, a deep frown creasing her forehead.
"What's the matter?"
"Nothing. I just would like you to stay so I have someone to talk to," she said over the babble of the pupils chatting in the hall. Sonnet rolled her eyes, but instantly regretted it. She really really did not want to be here, but she hated being unfriendly to get out of it.
"Okay, I'll stay with you. But... I'm not all that... sociable."
Iclisa smiled at her. "Thanks Sonnet."
They began to wonder aimlessly around the hall, stopping every so often as Iclisa would talk to people Sonnet didn't know. They stopped and talked to some of the others from the fight for a moment, before moving on again. Her expression remained blank with boredom as this went on for over an hour, before she spied Mikael from the fight.
After seeing what he did to Kaden, she felt intimidated by being in the same room as him. She didn't even need his intervention. I can look after myself, she thought.
Her eyes snapped up as she saw Quin perched up high above the pupils. She smiled at him meekly and gave him a little wave.

Hey guys, what do you think about having a school disco or a prom or something? That would be quite cool. Or if you have any other ideas... :D

(sorry I haven't been writing a lot, just had all my SATs exams)

Quin

Quin spotted Sonnet immediately, her mouth open in a half smile. HE tried to smile but It probably looked like a grimace, she waved lightly and HE flew down over the crowds. A few people looked up from there seats as Quin soared over them to the back of the hall, where Sonnet stood. She was with an awkward looking girl, Iclisa, I think she was knew.
"You came." he grinned, shifting lightly beside her. It was hard to keep his tone humorous and light, he wanted to talk to her in private. She grimaced, gesturing over to the Iclisa who had just finished shaking someone's hand. "We came" she said and rolled her eyes.
Quin looked the girl up and down warily, he thought of himself a polite person, but from a distance. The only people he made real conversation with where Sonnet and Jason, maybe even Aaliyah.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go for a run or something" he mumbled, totally losing all confidence.
Her face broadened into a smile "Yeah, sure."
He felt his stomach flip painfully, remain relaxed, remain calm, remain cool. This was so much more effort than before, before he could blurt out anything to Sonnet without reason. No matter how random, how insanely inappropriate, he knew what he was doing. But now he was lost, on new territory he had never crossed, blundering blindly around in the dark.
Iclisa took that exact moment to look up, Sonnet cringed.

(plus i think a school disco or something is great but lets give it a few days, we only just got started)
