Korah
Korah chuckled darkly as he slowly sat back, resting his hands behind his head as he gave Sempre a look over. The god still held out his hand, waiting for Korah to shake it, but instead, the necromancer began to laugh. His body softly shook as he threw back his head, a guttural laugh filling the carriage. "Do you mock me!" Sempre growled, his lip curling into a snarl as he leaned forward and raised a hand. Lines of red energy began to dance along his fingers, twisting and dancing as he glared at Korah with a murderous intent.
"My dear Sempre," Korah finally breathed as he wiped a small tear from his face, "The mirth you bring is priceless and truly daunting. Obviously you have not spent much time among mortals, now put that glowing hand away, I mean you know harm or disrespect."
Sempre paused, his eyes scrutinized Korah, studying his movements as he slowly put his hand down. "What do you mean?"
"You don't think we are fools, do you?" Korah asked, "You can't just come rummaging in here, demanding help and attaching it with a few small promises. You are asking us to defy the modern gods, to open up a portal into the other world!"
"You make it sound so... perilous," Sempre murmured as he casually crossed his legs and rested his chin on one of his fists. "What are you so afraid of."
"Nothing," Korah simply answered with a shrug. "Fear does not motivate me, but it does you." Sempre stiffened slightly, but Korah quickly continued, "You know there are ways to kill the old gods. Pravius maybe, the Priest, one of the current gods, and even ancient weapons such as the blood blade. All of them could be detrimental to you, and yet you come to us first, seeking to open the portal, to bring back the old gods, instead of wiping out some of your current threats."
"My actions puzzle you?" Sempre asked as Korah nodded. "It is true, there are dangers for me in your cursed world, but that is why I need the other gods, pawns are needed to win a game of chess. Most are thrown away or used in strategies, sacrifices must be made."
"Ahhh..." Korah whispered, his eyes lighting up with understanding. "I see. Sad though, isn't it? You can't simply open the realm by yourself, you would be killed." Sempre's eyes narrowed as Max let out a hissing laugh.
"We know quite a bit Sempre," Max growled, "I have not survived as long as I have by being a fool, I learn about my enemies. The gods have powerful magic, after Obilisk tore open the doorway into your realm, and released you and Sempre, they released a curse. If any god, so much as tries to open the realm they will be notified. And even you in all your power could not fight off all of the modern gods."
"True," Sempre allowed with a slight incline of his head. "Plus there are so many realms, it could take me a while to find the right one. But you necromancer," he whispered as his eyes alighted onto Korah. "Your magic crosses the realms with ease, you bring back the dead from their place, and you could open the gateway to the place where my brethren dwell. I know the spells to bring them forth, you have the knowledge and the power, plus you will not activate the curse."
"Tantalizing as this all is we do have a little hitch in your plan," Korah said with a small smile, "Besides Pravius there is another god, right Max?"
"Indeed," the Vampire snapped, "Ra."
Sempre's eyes widened and a low hiss escaped his mouth. "I would like to kill that one myself," the god growled, his voice like ice. "I know Ra well, very well."
"Really? Do indulge?" Korah said.
"The story is old, we were foolish and unwise," Sempre bitterly answered, "Even gods can succumb to some of the most human of emotions. For the first time we felt pride. We created the modern gods, and they in turn attacked us. Trapping and locking me and my brethren away."
"You created them?" Max asked, "So your powers are greater?"
"We did not create them as you would think," Sempre answered sharply, "We created them as a man and woman would create a child."
"You birthed them," Korah whispered in surprise, his eyes growing big with the revelation. "My that is interesting."
"They were on the same level as us, but we were more powerful in one aspect, knowledge. We knew things that they couldn't conceive, but they grew tired of serving, so they rebelled. And he," Sempre spat, "Let them against us, the Sun God, Ra! He rallied his brothers and sisters and they came at us, and it was by his word we were sealed away. One of our oldest was destroyed in the battle, but she laid a powerful curse upon him, bound him in a human's body and casted him to earth."
"So Ra is human?" Korah asked.
"Partly," Sempre growled, "He still possess many of his powers, and during the day he can turn into his god form. In that form our powers are on the same level, but as far as I know he has never used his god form."
"Why not?" questioned Max.
"I do not know," Sempre answered with a shrug, "Even when battling Pravius he refused to use it, i would hesitate to say he was afraid to turn, though gods do not experience fear."
"We will help you," Korah said, as he looked up, a wide grin on his face. "I will help you, but I require one thing, a gift of sorts."
"Anything," Sempre said.
"More of your blood," Korah whispered, his eyes growing wide with delight. "Not just a small bottle, I need a lot of it." Sempre merely shrugged and nodded, the deal was struck.
