Traystal
A change in attitude from the elf was one way to describe what the spirit had just witnessed. Traystal preferred insanity. One minute, the elf was firing an arrow at him (which Traystal knew wouldn't hurt him, but it was the principle that mattered) and the next he was on one knee, apologising and offering to help him on his travels.
"I am the spirit, Traystal, and I don't need a traveling partner. I'm currently with a group anyway." He said, playing the role he imagined the elf expected of him - aloof, wise, and decidedly dead.
He felt a kind of tugging from where he'd left the group. Probably that witch who's taken to calling me 'Blondie'. Her kind were almost the opposite of this elf, capable of press-ganging spirits into servitude, even, apparently, without meaning to.
"Wait! Please?" Rush said as he turned away, and Traystal turned back, looking over the elf again.
He folded his arms and looked him up and down, "Well, perhaps you can be of use. I'm not of your kind, so I don't expect you to serve me or anything as they might. But you can accompany me if you really wish to."
Rush looked relieved, and nodded, seeming to understand. Traystal knew that his chances of getting treated as an equal were slim, though. Well, at least it'll provide some kind of counterbalance to the witch...
"How fast can you move?" He asked the elf, "I need to return to the group I seem to have gotten myself attached to, and I would prefer to use my shadow form, although I am unsure if you can keep up with that."
Meer
He opened his mouth to explain to the little fairy that he had no idea how long they'd be waiting for Alje, Scado, Adam and Ra to return with Lethero, but at that moment, the five they were expecting returned to the cave. Or rather, four did, and only Lethero's body was with them. Meer could see plainly that the old werewolf who could only be Scado's father was dead, even if the others couldn't. They probably have more of an attachment with him. Even so, his eyes remained fixed on the creatures gathered around Lethero's body, and he didn't notice Adam slipping away into the shadows.
Moments later, they were all heading back down to the village. Scado needed to find something in the basement of his father's cottage, April moving some wood out of the way for him with a little help from Ra.
Meer drew his longsword and laid it across his legs, sitting on one of the freshly displaced logs. He started to polish it, deciding that really the only thing he could do right now was sit down and play sentry for a little while.
"So," He said, looking over at Pippa again, "What kind of adventure were you expecting? I was kind of just envisaging helping some innocents escape death when I freed Adam and Scado from the jail, and then going back to my old life." He gave a dry laugh, "Not much chance of that now, huh?"
