Dr. Julius Barrick

Barrick sighed as he watched Jesse back out of the conference room, her dog in tow.

"Right, then. This meeting is concluded. I want to remind you all, though. If you see any sign of abuse from the guards, you are to report it straight to me."

The scientists filed out. Barrick crossed to a computer in the corner of the room. He booted it up, and went to the list of examination rooms. All twelve of them seemed unused. Barrick frowned. Where was Jesse seeing the Partial?

Barrick sighed. Jesse had most likely forgotten to log in again. He left the conference room and marched over to the examination hall. Barrick looked inside every examination room as he passed them. Finally, at the end of the hall, Barrick found them. They were in Examination 2.

"... We could work with that," said the Partial determinedly. Barrick pushed the door open farther. He looked at the Partial carefully before speaking.

"Dr. Berkeley," said Barrick sternly. Jesse spun around, surprised.

"... Dr. Barrick!" She almost looked panicked. Barrick pointed to the computer.

"You forgot to log in your use of this room."

Jesse blushed furiously, then darted over to the corner of the room and began frantically typing on the computer.

The back of Barrick's neck prickled. He turned around to find that Partial glaring at him.

"Ah... Whitney, is it?" he asked her. The girl's scowl deepened. Barrick moved toward her.

"What seems to be the problem?" asked Barrick, pulling out his pen light and flashing it in her eyes. The girl shoved him away, blinking. Barrick raised his eyebrows.

Whitney

I had overreacted a bit by pushing Dr. Barrick away.

"I'm sorry sir, but Je- Doctor Berkeley already checked me. I'm fine." I explained. I was glad I caught my use of Jesse's name. The other scientists looked down upon our use of nonprofesional names for any of our 'superiors'.

"Well it doesn't hurt to have a second look." he smiled unconvincingly.

He opened a drawer and started rummaging through its contents.

I started to worry. He could be searching for a tranquilizer, or something else that could potentially harm me.

I looked to Jesse, but she was struggling over the computer system.

I whined a little and tried to hold back the fear I had inside. I wasn't usually tranquilized and I had only tried to escape once or twice. I hadn't done anything wrong lately.

"Well what exactly felt wrong Whitney." he asked, his back still turned.

"I fainted in the gym." I gave him my fake explination.

"Well you were probably overworked. I'll give you something for that." he turned to me, needle in hand.

crap I thought. He came closer to me and I freaked out, partially transforming. I backed myself into a corner. I was still mostly human, but I had a tail and claws and my teeth were quite tiger-like.

I growled and bared my teeth at him.

"I have to pee!" I practically yelled at the guard.

"Yes, I know, you've told me a hundred times," the guard said. "You're not leaving your cell."

"I don't think I can hold it much longer," I said. "It would be a shame if I had to transform and I 'accidentally' hurt someone." I cocked an eyebrow and he sighed deeply.

"I'll take ytou to the bathroom, though only because we've had enough break-outs today," he replied.

He opened the door and I walked down the hall. Then, in one of the examination rooms, I heard a vicious growl. The door was halfway open and Whitney was trapped in a corner. Barrick was coming up to her, a needle in hand while Jesse sat at one of the computers.

She must of asked Jesse for help and she turned her in. I knew there was something fishy abut her, but I couldn't worry about that now. Whitney was about to get hurt. Because of me.

"C'mon!" the guard barked. I ignored him and entered the room.

"Dr. Barrick, someone said that one of the Partial's need you. You'd better hurry, they made it sound urgent," I said.

"Why did they send you?" he asked.

"They, uh, couldn't find another guard," I said, blushing as I stuttered.

"Liar," he hissed. "Your not very good at it are you?"

"No! I'm telling the truth," I said. Dr. Barrik narrowed his eyes and looked at me really close. I tried not to shake. This was Whitney's one hope to get out of this.

Guys, can someone have the guard say that David escaped, because I made that so the guarding would be lessened, and David would be able to sneak the others out easier.

He awoke from his restless slumber, eyes half-lidded and lined with black from obvious insomnia. Even his dreams unwelcomed him forcing him back into conciousness again and again. Once more, there was only the silent pattering of feet and the sound of raspy guards voices, as always.

His eyes opened, then closed, then opened again in a repeated session, his body aching a weak. How tired he seemed to be, trapped between humanity and the other side of him he wished not to be. He was too weak to fight it though and it was enveloping him strangely so. His ears were replaced with larger ones, red felionlike. His black sprouted a fairly large, fluffy tails, and his fingers curled in slightly, the nails growing grotesquly long. He was slowly but surely transforming, but he wanted nothing more the to be normal...

So he awaited what was surely going to happen, and without much thought, his body started to sprout long turfts of red.

Jesse

She stepped forward and pulled Barrick back, eyeing Whitney lightly.

"Dr. Barrick, I have already given her a dose of morphine. I believe the fainting spell might have been because of an incomplete brainwave transmission. She has under gone two mood swings already, and appears to be developing a sensitivity to light. If you give her another shot, it could be fatal." Jesse piped up, rambling, trying to convince Barrick not to inject Whitney.

"She seems to be acting fine even with that dose of morphine. How much did you give her?" He asked suspiciously.

"75mL." Jesse said, her voice wavering slightly.

"The standard is 105." He looked at Jesse sternly. This was odd for her.She had never given the wrong amount of injection. "This can be hazardous."

"I know I made a mistake. She only seemed to be moderately reactive so I did a less dose. I can't fix that know without giving her an overdose. That would kill her. She is only acting up because of your presence. I will get her to her cell." Jesse walked over to Whitney, taking the hand-cuffs off the counter and placed them on quickly. Jesse noticed that Whitney's claws were visible. "You should leave before hand. The Partial'd don't like your presence."

I was very thankful that Jesse had lied for me. I didn't know what Dr. Barrick was planning to do to me but it sounded like it wouldn't have been good.

On the other hand, I wasn't thankful that Jesse used the handcuffs. I hated those, they hurt my wrists. I pouted slightly and flicked my long snowy tail but let Jesse lead me out anyways.

Once we were in the hall alone I felt safer and my claws dissapeared along with my tail.

"So will you help us?" I said without moving my mouth too much or turning to look at her. I didn't want security cameras to have much to go off of.

I waited impatiently for her response. It was taking too long.

I stood dumbfounded and out of the way. What was going on. I eyed Jesse. Whitney shook her head at me, almost imperceptively, and stood beside Jesse.

Did Whitney really convince Jesse to work with us. I don't believe. Jesse dosen't really care about us. Does she.

I glared at her. She was very confusing so therefore, I still don't trust her. The tension was building and Jesse looked...different. There was so many emotinos flickering across her face. I was always good at reading people, but it proved impossible with her.

I walked away, but Barrick grabbed my arm.

"You said something about an urgent message?" he asked. I jerked my arm away from him. Whitney was no longer in danger so that means I don't have to be nice.

"Yeah and I already told you, so if you'll excuse me DOCTOR," I said sarcastically.

"You would do well to remember to keep your mouth closed more often," Barrick said.

"And you would do well to remember to get out of my face," I suggested. He narrowed his eyes and before he could say anything else, Jesse cleared her throat.

"A partial might be in danger," she said, looking between the two of us. "I heard something about David escaping again. He paused and finally left the room.

I sighed and sat in a chair near me. I hadn't realised until now that I was half-formed. I needed to have more control over my emotions.

hmm..it seems fine. if you wanted to add something about the doctors little arguement over Whitneys condition that would probably be good. Other than that that all could have happened.

He could have turned to you after Jesse told him to leave in her post. Whatever you think fits =)

No, David is posing as a guard, so he can let the others out, but also to get some guards off, while they hunt him down.

MJ said she wanted to start the meeting, but if she doesn't in a half hour, I will.

**honestly, this one is wayy to confusing. I might end up taking my character out if it's following such a strict outline. The plot moves either way, but we're all getting ourselves confused. How's about we go a little free versed more. Like Boltageman, if you need to distract the guards, move our characters to due so. I dont think anyone will be angry, but we are going nowhere by standing here...**

Jesse placed me back in my cell. She had agreed to let the electricity down, but that was all she could do.

I transformed as soon as I was locked into my cell. I needed to talk to Josh.

"We're escaping." I told him.

"How?" Charlottes voice chimed in.

"Yes." Josh said uneasily with another voice in his head, "How?"

"Jesse is going to power down the fences for us. But we will have to be quick. She can only power down one fence at a time and then they are only safe for a minute or so." I explained.

"So you three are planning an escape too?" and unexpected voice said.

"What? Who are you?" I demanded.

"Red." the voice explained. "You will need our help."

"How many are planning to escape?" Charlotte asked.

"Quite a few really," Red said. "It really is helpful knowing about the fence thing...I'll have to let David know so he can get her on our time schedule."

"What's your time schedule?" I asked.

"We're leaving at one. We already have someone to let us out. Just be ready." Red explained.

"We'll be ready." Charlotte confirmed.

And then there was only Josh and I left.

"So are you leaving?" I asked him.

"I can't just let you go alone can I?" he said and then he was gone too.

I waited impatiently in my cell for the signal. I hoped our plan would work out alright.

---------
I hope that's all okay. Everyone seemed to be complaining that it was taking to long for the escape.
And about the plotline..i think it will loosed up a bit once the escape happens. Many of the partials will have to live in the city and avoid being caught and taken back to the island. But really after the escape it opens up for your character to go wherever he wants =)
