What were the odds of another like him (well, in the sense that she wasn't like them) being on this island? He looked at the others around him again, wondering just how many of them weren't human. After all, he was sure this wasn't all just coincidence.
"Well, then the fire problem is settled." Someone said, "Now let's take care of the rest."
"We should go back in tomorrow." Luis said, "Since the forest'll be most dangerous at night. We might be able to find some food in there. Probably the best bet is hunting, for the time being. We don't know what's poisonous and what isn't, so unless we see any fruit we recognise, we should steer clear of it."
Well, he supposed he was going to have to come clean about things sooner or later, and now seemed as good a time as any. But first, he needed to gauge the others, once the main issues were sorted out, he'd ask how many of them weren't human.
