Do we have to go back? I asked Star, she nodded, putting on her ski cap. They couldn't see our ears; not yet. We'd caught a few small animals and we had found some fruit. None of it had been any trouble. Most of the time, we'd just running off some energy.

They're waiting for us. She pointed out. Why was she always right?

She answered my question. Because I'm female.

"Shutty." I grumbled. Star laughed and we started running back after gathering our spoils. We didn't go fully speed, but we made good time.

"Sorry it took so long." Star said, putting the game on the cave floor and sitting down next to them. "Does anyone have a sharp knife so I can start skinning these?"

I put the fruit on the floor and sat next to my sister. Being around all of these humans was too much for my nerves. No human had ever helped us and I tend to hold grudges.

I glanced at James who was still adopting to these situations. I giggled seeing that Lindy sat clsoe to me to avoid him. i felt sorry for him.

"I do not her name yet," i replied the boy's question, "But i call here amamori..."

"Ama...who?"

"It is a long story but you can call her, mori, if you want." i said gently holding the necklace close to my chest and patted my large wooden suitcase. I checked my container and tehre was enough food for a day. I might go hunting again tomorrow.

I glance at amamori and looked at how she ate. I never know what happened after she woke up but i suggest by how she acted, her mind was altered to that of a child.

I close my eyes and looked easily at the horizon. Its going to rain, i suppose, i better prepare it tonight but other than that, i took a dagger and threw it by James' feet.

He looked at it as if it were a strange instrument and glanced at me.
"Do you want to learn to hunt?"

James

The dagger Ms. Midori had thrown landed right between my feet.

"Do you want to learn to hunt?" she asked.

I considered it. "Sure."

"Come along then." she started into the forest.

"What about Lindy and Mori?" I asked. We couldn't just leave them there.

"Well I don't think Lindy is too eager to hunt with me again. She's a tad against carrying dead animals." she explained. Lindy nodded in agreement. "They will be fine."

I glanced back one last time as we stepped into the jungle. Mori looked familiar, of course she had to have been on the plane. But I still couldn't place her with anyone. She acted very childlike. Maybe she hit her head or something.

"You're going to have to walk faster and look where you're going if you want to hunt, James." Ms. Midori called back to me from a few feet ahead.

"Yeah, okay." I said. I followed her into the jungle eagerly. After all, I never learned how to hunt before.

James followed me into the forest instrcuting on the way the places where i hid my traps. He did not followed me like Lindy did but it was all fine.

He stop behind me and told him to stand beside me.

"The first rule, is to be still, crouched down to your knees and be very observant. that is teh first rule. You can either wait for hours or simply throw the dagger at a passing animal."

i waited for him to understand but i did not have time, when i saw a tiny movement from the bushes and with one trow from my dagger, it landed of a rabbit's head. I can see James' surprise and let him do it for a while. The first strike was a failure but i did not care.
Besides it was not even nightfall, i could let three hours maximum for his training.

Lindy

I saw Ms. Midori walked to the forest with james. I waved them goodbye before i gathered the remain and buried them by the edge of the jungle where there was no presence of sand. I came back walking away from the buried traps and waited for them.

I looked at mori who was looking at the sea. I forgot who she was but i sort of remember seeing her on the forest when we got lost.

"Do you miss home, mori," i asked her. She looked at me and smiled like a child before she looked back at the sea again. I did not know what had happened to her.
I sat back on the brown wooden suitcase that was important to ms. Midori. I was curious but i did not let it control me.
Slowly, my eyes felt heavy and i fell asleep.

He drew out a knife and tossed it to Star. She could do the skinning, it wasn't really his thing. Luis would be happy to help cook the food, but if he could avoid tearing strips off a little forest creature with a knife, he would indeed avoid it. As his cousins and siblings never failed to point out to him, he was the only one who seemed to be squeamish about death. A very ironic thing to be in his family, but it didn't stop him.

"Can I help cook?" He asked, "I'm not too bad at it, or so I'm told."

He glanced down the mountainside from where they were. It was getting dark quickly, the sounds of animals in the forest starting to die away, replaced with an eerie silence. The gloom was weighing on him, as though the harsher of the island's servants was already closing on them. And for all Luis knew, they were doing exactly that. He knew they couldn't possibly be coming from the inside of the cave, they'd already searched in as far as it went.

But he didn't like the thought that they were effectively trapped in this cave for the night. Certainly, they'd be able to see where the creatures were coming from, but he didn't find that to be much consolation.

Luis drew out a knife and passed it to Star, she began skinning almost immediately. For a moment I wondered where he got the knife from, but I decided against confronting him, it coul've easily been one of the things that didn't get ruined after that little attack.
I looked over at Star, then I quickly looked away. Ugh. I noticed that Luis seemed to be thinking the same thing, as me, if his expression was any indication.
" You don't like the look of that, huh?" I asked, after sitting by him. It was a stupid conversation opener, but it was all i could think of at the moment. Besides, I needed to talk to someone I felt reasonably comfortable with.

Chris

I sat by Alexis, as I watched Star and Comet at work. The disgusting sight of the skinned animals did not seem to bother them for some reason. May be, they were accustomed to it. At least it was food, at the moment I could eat anything, even if they served it raw, I was that hungry.
I turned to Alexis and asked:
"How's it going? Are you warm now?" Because the fire had somewhat warmed me up, I was wondering if she was okay, thogh.

He laughed and shook his head a little, "No, I can't say I do. I'm no vegetarian, but that doesn't mean I enjoy this, uh, stage of making a meal. Something about the whole process just strikes me as a little barbaric."

Comet scowled at him, "Why don't you skip dinner then, and stay on your bloody high horse." That managed to earn Comet a stern look from his sister.

Luis shrugged in apology anyway, "Sorry. Just what I think. I still appreciate the fact that you two got us dinner." He looked back to Kate, seemingly the only person here he could manage a conversation with without managing to make her hate him. Sure, he knew he'd come off as callous before, but at least she seemed willing to forgive him. He felt terrible for holding back what he was from her.

"I'm guessing you don't like it too much either." He said.

She shook her head in response, keeping her eyes away from the twins' work. "Well," he said, giving the sunset a cautious look, "Do you want to go for a walk then? Just to the bottom of the trail and then back. They should be done by that time."

I smiled gratefully. I really hated to be here, I could almost smell the raw flesh, and even thouh I couldn't see it, it made me imagine it.
"Let's go." I said, as I got up. I needed a bit of fresh air, to clear my head, anyway.
"Where are you guys going ?" Star asked.
"Just for a walk..." Luis replied.
"Just so you know, if something happens to you, we're not coming out to look for you people...OWWW." Comet said, and appearnely his sister replied to his comment in her own way, judging by the face he made as he turned towards her.
We got out in the fresh air, it wasn't dark yet, it was actually very beautiful with the sunset and all.

They DO realize that being on a stranded island is not the best place to go on a date. Comet said, chuckling a bit. I glared at him, though I agreed with him to some extent. It wasn't like it would be a good idea for them to hate each other; which Comet was succeding in doing.

He glared at me, catching my thoughts. I smiled and continued skinning our game. I could do this in my sleep by now, but I didn't feel like thinking about anything else at the moment. Enjoying the smell of my prey was enough for now.

You're enjoying this too much. Comet said, nodding to the others. I looked up and saw a few weird looks. I forgot we weren't alone anymore so I couldn't enjoy the smell of raw meat (as my instinct told me too) as I could when it was just Comet. Oops.

"I'm just really hungry." I said, smiling at them. Looking down, I saw that I was done. "So, how do you guys want this? Soup? Cooked? On a stick?"

"Yeah i'm getting warmer." I told chris. It was nice he was worried about me. I smiled a little and stared into the fire.

"How do you guys want this cooked?" Star asked. "Soup? Cooked? On a stick?"

My stomach growled at the sight of the raw meat on the cave floor. My wolf instincts were kicking in and staying around even when I was in my human form. Which probably wasn't a good thing.

"I don't mind." I said at last. I didn't want to say anything like 'i'll just have it raw'. That would have been weird.

Maeve

"I'll eat it as long as it's cooked." I decided. "So whatever way you can make it best is fine by me."

I fed more branches to the fire to keep it going. I could restart it if it went out, but that would still be a pain. Using my fire powers hurt me a little, since I was only half fire fairy and I hadn't been using my powers much before this trip.

it was a beautiful sunset when we arrived back to the camp. we both carried three rabbits plus one bird extra. It was not neccesarily a failed attempt. James caught one rabbit which was good for his first time though he became a little bit paranoid when he was trying to kill it. AT least that would give me a laugh.

"So, ms. Midori, what's next...?" he asked me with confidence.

"Fishing, i suppose and some berry picking" i answered back as we left the forest. Lindy was peacefully sleeping when we came back. I was a bit surprise that she was sleeping over my wooden suitcase but i did not mind. She was like a child.

I looked around again surprise that amamori has dissapeared. Lindy stirred and greeted me.

"good evening, ms. midori," she said half asleep

"Good evening to you as well...have you seen mori?"

"mori?..."a bit surprised "She was there when i last saw her." she said pointing to a spot near the post. Lindy stood up and began worrying. "She was there...i swear."

I sighed and told lindy not to worry.

"Hey guys," James came from the side.
"James, can you take care of Lindy for a while and prepare dinner..."
"Why?"
"Mori has dissapeared. I'm going to find ehr before she hurts hereself." afterwhich i grab my bow and arrow, two daggers and gave them a brief wave before i left.

Ms. Midori ran off into the jungle with her bow and arrow, leaving me alone with Lindy. Great.

"I hope mori is okay." I tried to start civil conversation.

"Yeah." she agreed. She didn't try to keep talking and I could feel a little anger still coming from her.

I sat down with the rabbits and bird. "Got a knife?" I asked.

She tossed a small dagger at me, it landed in the sand a few inches from my foot.

"Gee, thanks."

I started skinning the rabbits and laying their fur on the sand.

"What are you doing!?" Lindy practically yelled.

"Skinning the rabbit." I said. "You don't want to eat rabbit fur do you?"

"I guess not..." She looked out to the ocean.

I kept working on the rabbit in silence. Now I was the only guy with three girls, that would be interesting. Though, ms. Midori was pretty intense for a girl. With all the hunting and everything.

After a while of silence I decided to try to talk to Lindy again. "You know, I'm sorry for calling you short on the plane."

She didn't respond.

"I guess it was wrong for me to make that sort of a statement."

Still no response.

"I had just snuck into the airport and gotten on the plane by some other kids ticket and was a little tense."

Lindy turned and stared wide eyed at me. "You did what?"

"I had to get out of the city, running away you know. And it seemed like the most difficult way to get out."

"Why did you need a difficult way? Wouldn't it be easier to catch a bus or something?"

I thought about that for a minute. "Well, I kind of needed the adventure."

"Hmm." Lindy went back to looking at the ocean.

Okay then, guess conversation is still a no. I reconsidered this arrangement. I was here with a girl who hated me, another girl who acted like she was seven, and ms. Midori the intense hunter.

I'll give it a few days I decided.

I ran off to the jungle calling out mori's name over and over again with my weapons by my side. It was getting dark soon and if i cannot find her before sunset, God knows what will happen. I checked for any signs that she has came here. ANy footprint or scratch in the trees. The forest was getting dark.

I stopped trying to get some breathe. My lungs were aching and then i heard something behind me. I turned around quickly hoping to see mori but what i saw was much worse.

"What on earth are you" I said aghast as i watched the creature before me.

It was a creature that looked like a hybrid of a dog and lizard. It had black fur, yellow eyes and sharp teeth. I backed away for a moment clenching my weapon and preparing them. When it attack, i strike it with one blow in the head with an arrow.

Another came beside me, i pulled the corpse by a string of my arrow before me saving me from its bite before i killed it. More and more came and i took out my dagger, defending and killing all the way while i moved back.

I climbed a tree but to no avail. these creatures followed me climbing up. I shot three down wiuth an arrow while i stayed over a large branch as i watched in horror as a few of them climbed along. I shot two more but they did not stop. And as i walked back, i slipped and fell down
the ground.

* I open my eyes. i was suppose to be dead but when i feel myself again pain streamed down on me like lightning and i screamed in pain. I watch around me and saw that the creatures assembled before me ready for the kill.

"Kill me now!" i bluffed but they did not respond and then before me stood Mori caressing the monster fur as if it were a dog.

"Mori!" i screamed, "What are you doing..."
"Iniyuki, i did not know you were coming. I was suppose to save you later after i finished off the ones at the caves. Oh yeah, you're quite impressive for a girl,Iniyuki"
she walked to me, lifted my chin and gave a small grin.
"You're lucky i do not kill people after a challenge. My pets here are hungry but i prevented them. SO can you simply go to your camp and tell the others to leave the jungle. i gave a warning before and i will give you another chance only with some example on how my pets can do."
With that, i saw every eye of those creatures turning to a grin.

Lindy

Ms. Midori was taking a while to come back. It ahs been a hour since she left us. I sat here with my back to james. He apologized a bit to what had happen in the plane and i guess i should at least frgive him.

AS i looked at him skinning the animal, i saw a figure limping towards us." i stood up in alarm with James who was holding the knife.
"stay back," he said but i did not obeyed only realizing that the figure was Ms. Midori. I gave an expression in shock as she fell down just before my camp. I ran towards her and held her head as James was getting a few bandages.
She was heavily wounded on her legs, arms and her head but i was lucky that she was alive.
I asked her what had happened but she only gave a painful moan.

The two of them walked in silence for a long while, Kate watching the skyline with the sunset, while Luis watched the forest for any sign of attack. When none came, and he judged them to be a good enough distance away from the camp, he sat down on the edge of a small boulder, looking towards the sky. "Nice, isn't it?"

She nodded, "Nicer here than it was up there."

Luis smiled, then looked away from her, "Kate, I've got to admit to you. I didn't just want to go on a walk for the sake of it."

She frowned a little, sitting down on another rock opposite him, "What're you talking about?"

"Well..." Luis said, "Ever since Maeve told us all that she was a fire fairy and everything, I've been wondering: How many of the others aren't human." He glanced back up at her, "And since I seem to be able to talk to you more easily than the others, I just wanted to ask you whether or not you are."

Part of him had been having regrets about the decision to ask her the moment he'd made it. But he couldn't rest easy until he knew whether she was human. And, if she wasn't, it would make admitting the truth to her a whole lot easier. And that would remove from his shoulders a secret that had been weighing him down for days.

I was completely taken by surprise by his question. I couldn't...answer this, well not really, I didn't know what was happening to me at the moment, I wasn't sure what I was.
So I mumbled something along the lines of : "I'm not sure."
That confused him even more, "What do you mean?'
So then I told him about the whole witch thing, and how I had caused that thunderstorm, by mistake, and how I wasn't sure I knew what was really going on.
"You are a witch? Are you sure?" He asked. Wow, he didn't believe me, huge surprise, I didn't want to demonstrate, but how else was he going to believe me?
So I did what I did earlier, a playful breeze, really, just something to prove to him that I meant what I said.
I turned to face him:
"What about you? Are you human? Own up. I already did, now it's your turn."

Chris

We ate the warm meal, cooked, as it was finally decided. We left some for Kate and Luis, too. I sat by Alexis and we all talked. It felt kind of nice to just do that, with the fire to warm us up and all of us around it. We talked about whatever came to our mind, really, even Comet, was less rude than before. Well, you know, less rude for Comet.
