Alexis

Lindy and the other girl left pretty soon without even paying much attention to me.

Nice of them. I thought sarcastically

I turned and started walking, I didn't really know where I was going. I picked up sticks and such as I went.

I looked to the sky, it was getting pretty dark. I shivered. Something about this jungle wasn't right. My senses were still kicked into high gear and something felt terribly wrong.

I looked around. I had no clue where I was.

Great

I sighed and set down the pile of sticks I had collected. They're going to be mad at me when I get back empty handed. I thought. But I just shrugged it off and let myself change to a wolf again. It was getting easier to change, which worried me a little.

I sniffed the air. Something was definatly wrong. A rustling came from somewhere behind me. I turned and sniffed the air. It wasn't normal. More rustling came from around the same area, it sounded big, and the scent grew worse.

Something inside me panicked and I ran. Whatever was in the forest seemed to follow. I eventually picked up the smoky scent of camp and ran that way. I came close to the edge of the forest and changed mid-stride, which caused me to tumble out of the trees and onto the beach.

"Alexis!" Chris yelled when he saw me. He ran towards me and helped me up.

"Something- something's out there." I gasped.

Lindy came at Sunset when i was cooking and making a new weapon. I leaned on a pole making a number of daggers from a combination of thick branches and scraps of metal i found from the wreckage.

My body was wet and i covered myself with a large dry towel. Sooner or later i am going to find a spring in that jungle. My wet body was being warmed by a large fire i had made with two birds being cooked.

She stared at me continously before she sat down opposite me.

"You can do anything, can't you. You can hunt, you can cook, you can defend yourselves...what else can't you do."

"I don't know. If i were to tell you that i am a geisha, would you belive me?"

"a geisha, wow...i can't believe i am meeting one but i thought..."

"geishas are simply entertainers not prostitutes if that is what your thinking."

"no...no i am not thinking about that. I am surprise how a geisha would know all these stuff."

"My trainer simply commanded me that is all as well for experience."

I sat silently again making my weapon. It was nearly complete. I place the tip of my finger at the edge and i can feel the warm blood from my skin. I am to make five or ten daggers. Five for traps, three for reserve and two for defence.

"Are you going to go back to the jungle?"

"probably, there are still things i need to find out."

"can i come?"

"come? you can't even hold a dead bird?" i said sarcastically. We talked for a short moment. She told me that i should stay in the large camp but i said no. I liked being with myself and besides they would not think a girl could do such things.
We ate and to my surprise, she liked my cooking. I never thought of myself as a good cook. I thought only i enjoyed my cooking.

By midnight, i am going back there.

Johanne

I felt someone grab me up, maybe two. I was starting to wake up.
I mumbled something incoherent. I was wakening up. Slowly my eyes opened and I noticed I was floating, I wasn't touching the floor. WTF? My sight was still blurry and I saw two figures holding me. I instantly freaked out, I started screaming and moving anxiously. Theu got scared too because they didn't new I was wakening.
"Stop it!"
"It's fine, we are friends!"
I didn't cared, I was constantly kicking the air. Of course that they couldn't hold me for much longer and we all three fell in the ground.
"Why did you do that?" The boy asked.
"Sorry, I got scared." ,I answered wit my face blushed "Where are we?"
"In the middle of the forest." The girl answered.
"How did we got here?" I asked.
"You got lost and we rescued you." The boy said with a heroic tone.
"Ohh..."I answered"I think it's better if we go to the camp as quickly as possible. There is something strange moving around ere. I fell it."
The girl nudged and started walking, he guy got a bit anxious and petrified, like scared.

Chris

Alexis looked really scared, and lost, when I found her.

"Something..Something's out there." She mumbled, terrified. I helped her up and told her.

"It's okay, don't worry. Whatever's out there, can't harm us, now, we'll be by the camp, we'll have the fire going all night if necessary." She looked really worried, as I tried to comfort her. I felt a little scared, myself, Jhoanne, Kate, Luis, Lindy and Kaleigh were still out there. Hopefully, not all alone.

Alexis was in shock when I brought her over to the fire. Everyone was relieved that someone else had returned. I wrapped a blanket around her, because she semed to be shivering, even with the fire blazing. I thought it was all from the shock.

"What are we having for dinner, tonight?"Someone inquired.

"Cashew nuts." Someone, I think it was Star, replied.

we all sat around the fire, watching the night engulf the small island. It was not a good idea to be somewhere else, but here.

Kate

Jhoanne had regained consciouness, so she was now walking right by us.
She said she had heard something. At first I thought, it was because she hit her head, but then I began hearing strange noises, too. No one dared to breath, let alone speak. We were all too scared and tried to be as careful as we could. This was the one night when it was vital for us to remain unnoticed.
Unfortunately, this trail which we had chosen had all sorts of wild flowers growing on it. All sorts of thorns and other things were brushing against whatever part of our legs were, exposed, cutting them in various places. A time came when I could hardly feel my feet. I don't think anyone else in my group felt differently. We all had agonized expressions on our faces.
Fifteen minutes later and we were engulfed by complete darkness. We couldn't see anything. We didn't even have the moon to help us out, as hardly any of it's light could get past the canopy.
"It's no use." I mumbled with whatever little strenth I had within me. "We should just spend the night here."
Both of them looked at me, confused. I explained.
"If we move any farther tonight, we might end up geting killed. I admit, it's likely we'll get killed now, but if we move any farther something might happen, we might get even more lost..." I didn't finish because that's when I felt something crawling up my leg.I looked down and almost screamed. It was a snake! I looked at my companions terrified. They looked down at where I had been looking and froze.

Luis

Luis allowed himself to appear in pain, when in truth, he was in much less than he knew the others to be. One of the upsides of having a healing ability, he supposed. He would have helped Johanne and Kate - especially Kate - except that would be revealing quite a bit about him.

Kate was saying they should spend the night there. Her reasoning was good, it was true, but Camille had warned him not to try anything like that, and he didn't want to, even if Johanne had. That had been the first night, and if this was some kind of test, then they were off limits then any way. Besides, when a Carrefour gave a warning, it was good to take heed of it. Luis was, of course, conviently brushing aside the other warning he'd received as being different.

Kate looked almost about to scream, and Luis saw a snake writhing up her leg. "Don't move." He said, "Whatever you do, don't scare it."

"But...what do I do?" she whimpered. Luis was lost for solutions. The snake hissed and bared its fangs in a wide yawn, its slitted eyes flicking back to meet Luis'.

Luis held its stare, concentrating hard on it, willing it to move away from her. He made contact with its mind, feeling the spark of its soul bright within it. Mentally, he squeezed that spark lightly, communicating with the serpent in the only way he could that it should be moving back to the floor.

Realising the threat to its life, and understanding what would happen if it bit Kate, it remained poised there for a long few moments, before slithering slowly back to the ground.

Luis glanced up at Kate as it disappeared into a bush, "I think we should try to make it back. It's not too far, and there are no snakes in the camp. Our chances are better that way."

I looked at Luis, atonished. What just happened? All he did was stare at the snake, all weirdly, like he did when he spaced out, and then it had gone away.

"How did you do that?" I asked.

"Do what?" He asked, with what sounded remotely like a confused voice.

"You know. Make the snake go away?

He changed the topic, swiftly, and made me forget all about my question.

"Oh look the campsite." Both me and Jhoanne looked up. And there it was. And I forgot all about everything else from joy!

Chris had wrapped a blanket around me but the shivering didn't stop. I was terrified, and in the strangest sense compelled to explore the forest again. But mostly terrified. Something was out there, and that something did not like us being here.

James

Alexis finally made it back and Chris was tending to her. Luis, Kate, and Jhoanne emerged from the jungle soon after. The group was mostly together again.

Luis, Kate, and Jhoanne quickly collapsed by the fire and eagerly accepted their handful of cashews.

I looked at my handful of cashew nuts. This was not going to be filling. "Don't we have any more provisions?" I asked hopefully.

"I don't know, maybe back at the tents." Chris said.

I looked back to the outline of the tents just in the jungle. They should be closer to the fire.

"I'll go check!" Maeve volunteered. She didn't wait for any response. She skipped to the tents.

"I sure hope we have more food, it's only been one day." I said, again eyeing my handful of cashews.

Maeve

I volunteered to go check on the provisions.

As I approached the tents something felt wrong. I shivered. I would have to suggest moving the tents closer to the fire.

I knew where the crates of food had been. I went to that spot, but everything was spilled over the ground. I then noticed the tents were torn. The camp had been ransacked.

Something big had come through our camp without anyone noticing, and Alexis and I had been only a few yards away. I sensed something moving quite a ways off in the forest, it wasn't very close but still scared me. I couldn't help it, I screamed.

I jumped up and sprinted for Meave, Comet right behind me. We were moving at say, 25 MPH when we skided to a stop. Oops. Oh well, too late now.

"What happened?" I asked, putting a hand on her shoulder. Comet stood silenlty behind me. He was here only for me, I could feel it.

I smell something, Star.

I do too.

"L-look at the c-camp." I stuttered. "Something's b-been here."

I heard everyone else running through the sand. Star was tense, I could feel it through her grip on my shoulder. Comet must be pretty tense too.

Something was out there. We all felt it.

The moon was already at the centre sky when i came back to my camp. My clothes were dirty but it did not matter. I did wat i did. I came back to the jungle just as i promise setting up five of my daggers on possible places where i had sense something. Though i just thought it was my imagination, it was better to be prepared.

I just hope no one would be inflicted by those traps i had set. I'll go back again in the jungle to look for a possible spring.

Lindy was already sleepinf when i came back. Her small figure nestled on a large blanket. I looked at her for a moment before i covered her with another blanket as i saw that she was partly shivering.

I nestled myself on the pole and looked on my container beside me. Ther ewas still enough foof that i cuaght to last two days.
I lay my head and took my necklace my danna gave me. i tugged it close to my chest and try to pray for his safety. I'll tell him that i am safe in this island and i know how to take care of myself.

"How was it?" Lindy asked me half asleep.

"It was good..." i say as i stare at the open ocean.

He rushed to where Maeve had screamed from, arriving shortly after Comet and Star made it there. He looked around, seeing what had been done to heir camp. Ransacked didn't quite describe it - it looked more as though it had simply been torn apart to spite them. The food that was scattered on the ground was really just a small assortment of cashews and salted peanuts, there wasn't any real food left on the ground.

It was an obvious attempt to force them to rely more on the forest. They hadn't even been left any water, cruelly, the bottles had been emptied onto the sand, leaving them to find their own water. But who could have done this? Certainly, there were some families among the nonhuman population of the world that could have, but this had a touch too much savagery in it. This was the work of the island itself, he thought. But what could have possibly moved so fast, so silently and so brutally?

"We need to find a spring or something tomorrow morning." he said, "And then repair the tents, and we'll have to start setting a watch at night from now on. Whatever that thing was, we can't let it catch us with our guard down again. Next time, it might take more than our food."

I shuddered as I heard Luis last sentence. it wasn't a comforting thought. And how had it happened? Some animal...but how had the animal known to open the bottlesd and empty them? It was ridiculous, unbelievable...
"We have to be cautious, we have to have at least one person on guard all the time, we can't all fall asleep." I said.

Someone laughed humoresly(sp?)
"I don't think anyone would be sleeping, tonight." Someone else added. I didn't pay attention to the voice. I was way too busy examining all the evidence.
"Whatever it was," I said" Was a tiny bit more intelligent than your average animal..."
It was true, the bottles spilled aside, why had it only ruined things that were vital for us? I looked over and saw that things like, clothes for example were untouched.
"What are you saying, that a human did this? Or a tribe?" Chris asked.
"No, why would a human tear down tents and spill cashew nuts?" I said.
"You're not making any sense." Someone said.
I looked over at that person frustrated. "I know, I'm just confused, that's all"
It hadn't been human, humans always left their mark, even on islands like this one, we would've noticed them, besides even if they were here why would they do it? To warn us? No.But it wasn't an animal, either. Then what?

Chris

We all sat around what used to be our fire, for the remainder of the eveing, mostly discussing the situation. We were waiting for morning to come so we could do something about it. I didn't like it. There was something strange about the way things had gone.

We sat around the fire until it was light again. The fire was low.

"Where did that lighter go?" I asked. I was trying to build up the fire again.

"I left it at the camp." Kate said.

"But that means..." Chris started.

I ran to the tents, followed by many of the others. We practically tore the camp apart again looking for the tiny plastic lighter. It was no where to be found.

I collapsed on the sand by the now out fire with the others. "This sucks."

"Yeah just a little." Comet said sarcastically. His sister glared at him.

"Does anyone know how to start a fire?" Alexis asked.

We all looked at eachother.

"I can." Maeve said suddenly. "It's just...a little different than you would expect."

She stood up and held her hand toward the pile of wood. Fire streamed out of her hand and lit the logs.

We all stared at her with our mouths open.

Maeve

It felt good to use my powers again. Being only half fire-fairy lessened the discomfort of ignoring my powers, but still made me anxious.

Everyone stared at me. I forgot it isn't normal to be able to produce fire from your hands.

"I'm half fire-fairy." I explained. They still looked shocked. I shrugged and smiled innocently, "At least we will alway have fire."

There was some distress in the main camp site. I stood up and saw that there was a large group around a camp fire and some others walking around in distress.
I had just woke up and i hate being to be awake. My body was tired and i need to take a bath. Tomorrow, i am seriosly going to find a spring.

There was another campfire i saw nearby the main campsite and i took notice on a woman that everybody was staring. I took notice, narrowed my eye and held the dagger on my hand.

This is ridiculous she is not her and besides even if she may have possess fire, she is not similar to her.

I sighed and went back sitting. Lindy was sitting peacefully by my feet. The fire was getting low but i still had lots of reserve for myself. I saw a figure walking closely at me and i grab my dagger instantly.

I put it down as i saw it was another girl. Her face was pale and her clothes were in torn.

i looked at eher for a while. I wondered if i scared her.

I apologized but when i did she collapses to the hard ground.

I instantly ran for her and tried to waked her up. But before i even tried to wake her, there were numerous amounts of leaves on her clothes and a large line of blood at her side. i checked her pulse and sighed in relief that she was alive.

Don't tell me that she became a victim of my traps.

I stared at the fire, that Meave had produced wide eyed. Wow. I was definately loosing it. but then why did everyone else look as surprised as me? A fairy? That was definately the weirdest thing I've ever heard. I've always tried to keep an open mind about new things, but this was impossible...and yet here it was happening, right in front of me.

"People, c'mon, say something." Meave said, nervously.

Only I couldn't say anything, because, I was far too stunned. It seemed likely that this is a dream. But then I pinched myself, and not I did not wake up. Which made it real. Well as real as this world is.

Chris

It was so weird. No one said anything. No one did anything. Everyone just stared at Meave. Twenty minutes passed before anyone managed to sday anything normal and that was:

"Well, then the fire problem is settled. Now let's take care of the rest." Someone said

It wasn't exactly the most natural response to what had just occured, but still...what had she said? She was half fire fairy? Wow...what ARE fire fairies? It just goes to show, that no matter how much you know you never know everything.
