Mike~~

"Yeah and its all thanks to you." I said.

"What do you mean." She asked with a touch of anger.

"When we should have left Drake dead, or at least isolated. You made us keep him alive and with us." I said.

"What do mean us. You left the group." she shot back.

"Yeah. But i kept close on you watching you guys, to make sure is snake boy over there got you in trouble I could help you out. I just didn't want to be known as back up." I said.

She seemed to not have a come back for that and turned away from me.

Adrianna

Adrianna turned away from him, but then spun back around angrily. "Yeah. Because you're little 'back-up' plan went so well..."

Mike looked furious, but Adrianna turned away from him. Right, then... He wouldn't make a good ally...

Adrianna took a moment to collect herself. Kyle was looking at her, his eyes narrowed. Adrianna longed to walk away from the lot of them. She wasn't built for this; she never had been...

"What?" Adrianna demanded. Kyle looked offended. Adrianna closed her eyes and rubbed her temples, putting on the appearance of a tired teenager. Perhaps Kyle would pity her?

Adrianna immediately felt disgusted with herself. She had avoided pity passionately all of her life, only to be seeking it now? Adrianna gritted her teeth. No. This was for her parents.

She looked back up at Kyle.

"Sorry..." she muttered, rubbing her eyes. "It's just - I can't go on with this..."

Mike~~

Kyle didn't buy a word of it. He turned away from her.

"your little act won't work." I said.

"What act." she said looking innocent.

"The whole pretend you are innocent and try to get us back to you just so you can stab us again." I said angrier then ever.

"What act." she said again obviously holding back anger.

"I know your faking." I said. "Hailey back me up."

"Mike's right, she is just trying to get us to help her. She is acting. She doesn't care about us, only to get some info from Teax." Hailey said softly.

"See. And you can't push Hailey off, she can read your thoughts." I said.

Adrianna

Adrianna clenched her fists and glared at Hailey. Was she happy now?! Now that she had spoken her mind, and possibly condemned Adrianna's parents to death?! And that Mike, the insolence!

Hailey took a step back nervously. Adrianna smiled, satisfied. Obviously she had gotten the message. Adrianna turned back to Mike, and took a furious step forward.

"Are you happy now?" she hissed, poking a finger into Mike's chest. "Are you?! You think I betrayed you all? No. I didn't. If you only knew anything, anything - You would not be so cocky."

Adrianna withdrew her finger, laughing, taunting the boy in front of her.

"Oh, you hate me don't you?! Despise me? The feeling is mutual, boy! And trust me - you have no idea what you are dealing with!"

Mike was furious. Adrianna was beyond any inkling of control she had; she was in hysterics.

"Mark this day, Mike Hepken. You have made an enemy," said Adrianna, her eyes flashing dangerously. Let him be mad. Let him throw a tantrum. Adrianna was ready.

*Mike's last name is Hepken, Eisenstein is Mikael's last name*

Mike~~

I just sighed and laughed. That got her flaring even worse. "does it look like I care. NO matter the reason you lead the others into to danger doesn't matter. You were willing to risk their lives, and for what. It doesn't matter they wee your friends, they helped you and you were willing to throw them away. And I don't care if I made an enemy today, because you already made one a long time ago." I spoke the whole thing calmly. Which made her even angrier. She thought she could mess with me. But I was done being mad, I was weak when mad. If I wanted to beat her she wouldn't get to me. After that I turned away and walked back to the others. Looking at her i drew my venom claws out to replace my nails, and my skin turned to a bronze color. If she wanted to fight me i would be ready, but I would not throw the first punch.

Adrianna

Adrianna laughed. "Friends?!" she shrieked. "Friends?! Is that what you call yourselves?! Oh, the irony!"

Mike was walking away from her now.

"Let me remind you, as you seem to have forgotten: Who saved your arses when we had to fly a plane and no one knew how? Who, Mike, saved your precious little behind back at Traux's compound, and who, if you please, was the one who even came up with the original plan of escaping? Me. What have any of you done for me? Please, tell me. I'm dying to know."

Mike was putting on defenses now. Adrianna narrowed her eyes.

"Ah. I see. You can't be accused of starting this, can you? Very well. I'll not push the matter. As you wish, Hepken."

Adrianna smirked. An she was alone again. Of course. Adrianna had been foolish. She always had, and always will, work best alone.

Adrianna sensed Hailey's gaze on the back of her neck. Adrianna spun around and met her eye. Adrianna smirked and inclined her head tauntingly. How persistent of her. Admirable.

Kyle~

I rolled my eyes. They were both acting like children. Poor them, at least at one point of there life they were normal. At least they had family. Well I had family but he was a psychotic killer, that didn't count.

Drake handed us the file. "Your first assignment is to bring in this boy," Drake said giving the file to Adrianna.

I looked at the picture. The kid couldn't be more then 7. I couldn't believe my father had roped me into this profession again. Off to ruin more lives. I thought bitterly.

Mike~~

A seven year old. Well at least he had a year more then me before I came here. I hated to have to do this, but it was the only way to keep Hailey safe. I sighed. following Drake up the stairs to the roof. There we were huddled into a helicopter. Great another trip out. Hopefully this time if we escaped we would stay out.

Hailey

As Drake led the way up a long flight of stairs toward the roof, I dropped back to where Adrianna was walking at the back of the group. I felt I'd done her some injustice, using my power against her like that. And there was something, there was something that compelled me to talk to her: our common predicament. No zodiac should be left out of the fold.

"Sorry," I said quietly so as not to draw the others' attention.

"Sorry?" she snorted. "Yeah, right." Adrianna was seething. She lapsed into a steamy silence, her eyes blood shot, her face haggard. I found it hard not to stare at her.

"I'm sorry that he has your parents," I said. I wanted to squeeze her hand but I was afraid that she'd push me down the stairs or worse, that she'd never talk to me again. That this opportunity would be gone. "He'll not let them go - this isn't a truth thing mind, I... I can't see that. It's an opinion: I don't think he intends to ever let them go because as long as he has them, he has leverage over you."

"So what, you expect me to just let him kill them?" Adrianna hissed through her teeth. We were out on the roof now, the wind whipping our voices away and drowning out most of the conversation. Mike was looking at me. There was an indecision in his face, almost as if he wanted to pull me away from her but wasn't quite sure that he should. I smiled at him, trying to say everything was okay without words. I think he understood.

"No. But the life of your friends - your companions - should mean something to you. Think about that next time you put Bettina, Mike or any of the others in danger." It was probably the perfect time to walk away from her but I didn't; I walked by her side all the way to the mission plane.

Adrianna

Adrianna sat rigidly in her seat in the helicopter. Hailey remained resolutely stuck to Adrianna's side. Adrianna kept her gaze glued to the floor of the helicopter. Adrianna began feeling terribly claustrophobic. She couldn't escape this deathtrap.

Adrianna let go a shaky breath of air. She felt Hailey turn to her again. Adrianna's gaze flickered to her briefly, then turned stubbornly back to the ground. She hadn't liked the look on Hailey's face.

"Don't think you've gotten to me," Adrianna hissed, the roar of the helicopter masking her words to everyone but Hailey. "Weren't you listening? I have no friends here."

"Have you ever?"

"No."

"Then how do you know what a friend is?"

Adrianna ran her tongue over her teeth, but remained silent. She clutched the file tightly in her hand. This was turning out to be the longest and most uncomfortable flight in her life.

Hailey

It was impossible to reach Adrianna, she was being more stubborn than a mule and no amount of stick or bribe could persuade her to remove those stone defenses. Not this time. Perhaps it was a fear that Hailey would see more than what she meant to reveal, maybe it was a distrust of the power that she struggled to control but it sent an acrid taste to Hailey's tongue. There had to be a way to reverse the process. She couldn't be happy if there was not. She couldn't live in a world where to speak was dangerous.

"I used to think lies were sinful and could never be of a benefit," Hailey said casually. "But since having this... this ability, I don't care anymore that people lie. People have a right to privacy." Hailey smiled weakly at Adrianna and turned away, allowing her words to sink in. They were more than words, they were actions. Hailey had decided she would not pry as long as she could help it. But I wonder...

Ah but she couldn't wonder, that was the problem. Too often that led to answers. And yet, she'd been certain that Mike wouldn't be captured. It had rung in her head as a fact, as the truth and yet here he was, sitting just across from her and as trapped as the rest of them. Had she somehow picked up on a false signal? Had the truth evaded her?

Mikael

I could hear mens voices on the other side of the wall.
"I'm glad they're gone" said a gruff aged voice
"Me two" replied a quieter man" Although i do think there is something wrong."
"Why? And don't tell me the mumbo jumbo the janitors were spreading about those guy's who disappeared. They obviously got deported." Replied the old voice nonchalantly
"I'm not so sure. Since the Zodiacs came back weird things have been happening in the building. There was the guy on the third floor who got possessed."
"He wasn't possesed. It was just Frank being stupid."
"What about the weird power shortages or that weird screaming coming through the walkie talkies the other day?" Am i doing that? i thought.
"I dunno i guess its just a mass malfunction. Could be that new mast on the tower. Anyway James hows your new wife?" The man turned around looking fir his oartner. "James come on this isn't funny." That was the last thing he said before i dragged him into my tunnel and snapped his neck.

Mike~~

Eventually Drake came to visit us.

"Now we will be landing soon. Now when we do I want no lose cannons." He said eyeing me. I extended a venom claw and pointed at his leg. He got a bit mad but pressed on. "We are going to invade the house. It will be short and sweet. You will run in, split up and each take a room. When you find him call and then grab him." With that he left us to our selves. I didn't know what to do. I had no idea how anyone felt about me other then Adrianna, who hated me. So i walked over to Kyle.

"Hey" i said.

Kyle~

Mike walked up to me.

"Hey do you consider me a friend," Mike asked.

I looked at him, in surprise. The only ones I had really ever been close to were Sabine and Tony. I guess I could be friends with him. I guess I could be friends with all of them. Ok maybe not Adrianna considering my father was the man she despised.

"Yeah, you're pretty cool," I said.

Mike nodded then went over to Sabine.

I looked at her as she listened to Mike as the same question. We hadn't talked since she told me she might love me. It wasn't a might for me it was a defeinat.

We landed and split up into groups of two or three.

Haily,Mike, and Bettina went in front.
Emily,myself, and Sabine went in through the back.
Adrianne, and Drake went through a side door.

The moment we entered there was a gun trained on us. A blond woman stood in front of us with a shot gun. Tell Teax he's not getting my babey. I heard figting in the front, which meant that Mike had run into trouble. I relized that we were the distraction, so Drake and Adrianna could just pick up the kid without getting their hands dirty.

Name - Kori Baker

Age - 17

Sign - The new Cancer

Ability - Since crabs have light coloured skin (?) they can hide and look like a rock. Kori's ability is that she can morph into miniscule things like animals (medium-sized dogs to chipmunks) and some easy objects to copy. This allows her to fool the enemy, etc,.

She has a high metabolism, so she is quite skinny, and since she has the tall gene from her father, she is very gawky. Just imagine a giraffe walking, and she is quite similar to that when walking. She doesn't have glasses or the piercings like the girl. Actually, she only has the girl's hair.

History - Likes art, like photography, and music. She was just a normal teen ... until a new cancer was needed. She was taken off the streets and transformed. That's really just the gist of it.

Personality - She's extremely laid-back, lazy, and doesn't like doing unescessary things. (Shikamaru, much?) She is quite fun to talk with, but she'd rather just sit around and not do much all day except observe and ponder. She usually stares dreamily into the distance, imagining nothing in particular. Her trademark is a drawn-out sigh which she uses when she is told to do something that she clearly doesn't want to do.
