Adrianna
Bettina. that's who was approaching Adrianna. Adrianna turned her back to her.
"What are you doing?" asked Adrianna coolly.
"Er - Just seeing if everyone is okay, I guess..."
"I'm fine."
Bettina was silent.
"Are - Are you feeling better?" asked Bettina hesitantly.
"In what way?" replied Adrianna. She reminded herself that Bettina was in a position of power. She had seen Adrianna at her weakest.
After a moment's silence, Bettina answered. "Physically."
"I'm recovered."
Bettina let another moment pass. "... Mentally?"
Adrianna felt her jaw tighten slightly. "I don't know what you're talking about," she replied stiffly. She turned to face Bettina, warning written all over Adrianna's face.
"What do you mean?"
Bettina swallowed. "We've not stopped running for a while... That's hard on anyone."
Adrianna nodded. "We won't stop running. Traux won't ever stop looking."
"... Then what do we do?"
Adrianna met Bettina's eyes. An ounce of respect for the girl had grown in Adrianna. After all, Bettina had had the tact to avoid the subject of her seeing Adrianna - Well, she'd had tact.
"I'm not sure," said Adrianna finally. Bettina blinked. Adrianna understood. She'd never openly admitted ignorance like that. Ever.
