Pollux~

"He's tired from overusing his powers, but he's fine," I said.

Tony nodded.

"I was wondering, back at the facility I forced Kyle to see some bad images. I was wondering how bad they were," Tony asked.

I looked at him from the corner of my eye. If you must know. Kyle lost everyone he held dear to him. His parents, his friends, and others. Because of this he doesn't like getting close to people. You and Sabine broke this barrier. So his biggest fear is losing the two people he cares about, his best friend and the girl he...." I trailed off.

If I continued Castor would probably never let me out of his head again.

I liked the air. It felt nice being outside with the trees as our guardian.

It wasn't cold out here. I decided it was perfect.

I looked down at the Zodiacs from a tall evergreen. The aura of us was very calm. I spotted Bettina and Emily who were finally getting over their poisoning, courtesy of Mike. (is that the poison guy? I can't remember...)

And Kyle was getting over his weakness. All seemed pretty well. I lept from my tree and landed softly beside Kyle and Pollux.

"How is he?" I asked Pollux, for perhaps the billionth time this evening.

He nodded, "good. Very good." I could feel his truth and was content with that.

Adrianna

Adrianna jolted awake. She was lying at the base of a tree. She lay still for a moment, absorbing everything that had happened, ensuring nothing was damaged. Slowly, Adrianna stretched and stood up.

Adrianna felt better than she had in what seemed like years. In reality, she was back to normal, but the exhaustion she felt all through the previous day caused normalcy to be a blessing.

Adrianna slunk among the trees. She spied Bettina and Emily lying a few yards away. They didn't look good. She saw Sabine and Kyle's double talking quietly. Sabine seemed to spot her over Kyle's double's shoulder.

"You're awake!" she called.

"Obviously," replied Adrianna coolly. Sabine raised her eyebrows at Adrianna. Adrianna stalked off. She wanted to be alone.

Adrianna wandered in the general vicinity of the Zodiac encampment. She soon entered a clearing with a dry log in the middle. Hailey was sitting on it. She turned at the sound of Adrianna's approach.

"You're awake."

Adrianna gritted her teeth. "That's what people have told me."

Hailey inspected her face. "Something wrong?"

Adrianna rolled her eyes. "If there was, I wouldn't be likely to tell you, would I?" Adrianna's parents flickered in the back of her mind. She shoved the memory back.

Hailey's expression changed for a moment. She stared at Adrianna.

Adrianna cursed inwardly. Hailey could read thoughts. She fixed Hailey with a fierce glare, as if daring her to say anything. Adrianna marched off again, cursing herself all the way.

Bettina~
Adrianna stalked over to a rock and sat down to mope. Her hair hid her face but I could tell she was crying. I watched her through a fern in front of where I was sitting playing with a badger. It made sweet purring noises as I stroked it.

The girl sat there for a long time. It seemed as if she'd cry a river. She didn't have anyone. I felt pity for her. I had never read horoscopes. I thought they were crap. But I'd trust my luck that our zodiac signs were "compatible"

I silently stood behind her form that wracked with sobs. I set a hand down on her shoulder and she jumped like I had electrocuted her.

Adrianna

Adrianna jumped back.

"What do you think you are doing?!" she yelled.

Bettina stepped back. "You looked like you needed some - "

"Pity?" hissed Adrianna furiously. "Compassion?"

"N-no," stammered Bettina, bewildered.

"Good," spat Adrianna. She turned her back to the girl. "I don't want your pity, I don't need your compassion. I'm do well enough alone."

Bettina blinked.

After a moment, Adrianna glanced over her shoulder. "You're not gone yet?"

Bettina shook her head.

"Brave for a eight year old," muttered Adrianna sarcastically.

Bettina flared up. "I'm nine!"

Adrianna rolled her eyes. "Pardon me."

Adrianna spun around and grabbed Bettina by the shoulders.

"Now you listen to me," she hissed, her face and inch away from Bettina's. "You never saw anything. I walked into the woods to scout the area. You ran into briefly, but I was crabby and you walked away. You saw nothing else. Understood?" She underlined her point by giving Bettina a shake.

Bettina nodded nervously. Adrianna straightened.

"Good. Now go away."

Kyle~

All the Zodiacs gathered to discuss their next move.

"Will, do you live close to hear," Kyle asked.

"Yes," he awnsered.

"Then we regroup there," Mike said.

"And, do what after that," asked Sabine.

"We stop snake boy from getting his hands on that serum that we were supposed to retireve. Pollux said.

Kyle sighed. This is why he never let his other half out, but now he was nessisary. Kyle was to weak, and if they were to get attacked agian he would be a dead weight.

Stopping the new arrival seemed nearly impossible. He was powerful, it seemed, more so than us at least.

I could keep track of him through the earth as he made quite a big impact on it. Why he would hire the SWAT team seemed beyond me. He was powerful enough to finish us off himself...

Will led us to his home near the cornfields. It was a pleasant place. Pretty tidy for one who lived alone. It had an organic garden. It looked like a Kincade cottage.

I was happy to be in a welcoming place, I had never really experienced a warm fireplace and a welcoming aura. It wasn't like Truax to allow us that.

We sat down of his dining chairs and began to relax.

Mikael

I woke groggily and rolled over to hurl up my last meal into the grass. I could just about remeber one of the others on my back and then the weak feeling. I got up and wandered of to make sure a hadn't damaged anyone permenantly. Why is it always my power that screws up, i thought, the others have control all i have is rage power and insanity. I hate being a monster.

You're not a monster said a voice in my head
I spun around and saw the little girl, Bettina, standing by a tree.
You're nice. Remember when Truax was mean and you gave me a piggy back through the maze.
I smiled as remeber the feeling of the little girl on my back and hearing her giggle as i sped through the maze of traps and ambushes. Maybe life's not so bad i thought.
I have looked into the eye of the storm and stared it down. I am an adrenaline junky and i know no fear.

Kyle~

Everyone took turns changing washing up and changed into new clothes. The boys borroed wills clothes, and the girls tried to fit into his mothers clothes since his sister was to young. Kyle had finally gathered enough strength and pulled in Pollux despite his protest.

Emily
---

I had woken up, changed into some strangers clothes, and thrown up twice. And I still didn't know why I was kidnapped.

"Your mom has great taste," I said once I had changed into a pink blouse and jeans. They actually fit me, maybe a size to big. "Hey, could someone explain why I was kidnapped?"

"You mean you don't know?" asked a girl with green-amber eyes. I shook my head. "Well, it's a long story, but here goes..."

And so she explained to me everything about Zodiac, Truax, her name (which was Sabine), and the fact that the governtment had asked my dad before all this.

"What?!" I screamed when I heard the last tid-bit. "My dad?! Half the day he's asleep, and the other half he's so drunk he can't tell his left hand from his right!!"

I stormed out of the house. The wind blew my hair into my eyes. It was a cool night, and the stars were shining as bright as the familiar street lamps. Tears streamed down my cheeks as the truth of reality hit me. My life was a mess. Simple as that.

I looked out to where Emily had ran. People had stood up to retrieve her.

"Don't," the high melodic voice of Bettina said, "Let her cool down."

We trusted her because she always seemed to know those things.

We were all tense and wary. And my earth radar told me the snake boy was in the area. We heard the footsteps of Emily run up our steps in a frantic manner. Of a rabbit running from a wolf.

Adrianna

Adrianna glanced behind her as the house door slammed shut. The girl, the recently captured Zodiac had stormed out. Adrianna felt her mouth wrinkle at the sight of her tears. Adrianna decided for the moment, though, to remain silent.

The girl walked to the edge of the cornfield and heaved a huge, shuddering sob. Adrianna approached her wearily.

"This is probably not the safest place to be," Adrianna stated plainly.

The girl spun around for a moment, saw Adrianna, and turned away. "Go away," she said, her voice muffled.

"No," said Adrianna, unfazed. "I will not. I am the judge of my actions, thank you very much."

The girl looked up. "I need some time to myself," she said in a forced tone of calm.

"You're not the only one."

The girl glanced back at Adrianna. Adrianna raised her eyebrows.

"If I leave, where do I go? I have no wish to return to the other Zodiacs. However, separating myself from them would be sheer suicide at this point. There is strength in numbers. My one and only reason for not leaving."

The girl stared at her blankly. Adrianna chuckled.

"We all have problems. The second you accept that fact is the second true power comes into your grasp," Adrianna looked at the girl coldly. "Give it up. Whatever reason you had for wanting to escape the compound, I can assure you that it is nothing compared to mine."

Adrianna strode off slowly, relishing the evening wind. A thunder cloud rumbled in the distance.

Adrianna stopped walking once she had rounded the corner of the house. She closed her eyes and breathed out. The nightmare still had its last grip on her.

Adrianna heard cautious footsteps behind her. She seized up, and spun around.

** Anyone can be the person behind Adrianna... I feel that if any boundaries were to be crossed and a mutual alliance would be formed with Adrianna, it would be now. If someone wants to attempt that, know that she still wouldn't just open up magically. Adrianna would still be cool with whoever that is. But as long as that person gives her her own room, an ally could be made...

Yours is better.

Bettina~
Adrianna followed Emily out. It seemed to be the nicest gesture she made for anyone. Kyle looked at me and motioned for me to follow them.

I obliged and skipped out, half wanting Adrianna to turn around and welcome me and half wanting her to ignore me.

I was scared of her. Angry vengeful emotions swarmed her body and that could be dangerous.

I approached her with hesitant steps.

Drake~

He couldn't believe he had been fooled by the girl. Her power to enamour had clouded his judgement. He dialed the number, and mentally cringed because he knew he was in trouble.

"Mr Teax, your son and his friends got away again."

"I'm very disappointed in you, Drake. I'm sending you a partner."

"What, I don't need a partner, I just underestimated them. It won't happen again."

"I'm sending you a partner, and that's final," Mr Teax barked.

"Fine, who is it."

"A prototype for my new line of super soldiers. With her help I guarantee success." Teax hung up.

Drake cursed,"Men we're falling back." Next time he would be prepared and he would bring all the Zodiacs back to be turned into weapons just like him.
