*guys, we DO have a discussion thread.*

Layne diminished the flame version of himself and rose from his crouching position, yawning. "Alright," he said, catching everyone's attention. "We've all got interesting powers. Now that we've established that-"

"Established what?" Gary asked, crossing his arms. Layne shook his head and looked down.

"That you're a raving lunatic. Now, can I finish?" Layne snapped. Gary grunted; obviously he and Layne would not be working together very well. Layne sighed. "Now it just comes to figuring out exactly how we're going to get to this Aunt Ivy's place."

At once, the others began to bicker and shout. How would they get there? It was in England, wasn't it? No? How, then?

Layne rubbed his temple, casually glancing up at the group and noticing the woman from before. His eyes got caught on her body, and the sheen of her hair. Felicie, she had called herself. Layne shook his head. Could he really love, with his current mental state?

StolenHearts, please, don’t curse. When Maribelle was looking at Felixs eyes? Yeeaaahhhh….

---

Raven slowly went back into the alley Cadence had been before, envying her new friends.

There they were. Arguing and fighting, but at least they knew what happiness felt like. What was it like to be truly happy? When Cadence had saved them all at the house, Raven had been really, really, really glad that they were protected. She hadn’t been actually happy since the shadow tried – and nearly succeded – in taking her. She sighed, leaning back on one wall of the alley. She wondered if she would ever get the chance to be happy again. One more sigh escaped her black lips. That wasn’t likely.

An icy blackness crept from the back through the alley. Raven turned her head to see shadows coming at her. She was stunned, at first, thinking “Oh… my…” before she said
“Run!! Get out of here, all of you!! NOW!!”
The others looked at her in surprise. Raven walked backwards, staring at the alley. As they wondered what she was running from, the shadows seeped past the corners and onto the walls in plain sight, so thick that they made the walls black. The others were up and running before you could say ‘run' again.
Raven just stood there, her eyes tightly shut and her hands in fists. Spencer was one of the last to leave, and, just happening to look back, called

“Raven! What are you doing?”

Her head throbbed like it never had before. Throb isn’t the right word. If you had shot her, the bullet would’ve felt like a paper cut compared to this.

“I know your there...” she whispered, her knees failing her. “Why does my head have to tell me again?”

She sank to her knees, pressing as hard as she could on her temples. Things started to go fuzzy. The last thing Raven remembered were the shadows taking the forms of businessmen, nearing her, clinging to her, before Spencer came and, in one final swoop, carried her in his arms away before she blacked out from the pain.

Maribelle

Felix seemed to get edgy when i gave a compliment, obviously nobody had paid him with comments before. I definitely wanted to get to know him more, no matter how far this one pushed me away. I would be mindful to leave breathing room but, Felix seemed like he needed this.

The one thing I would never tell to Felix would be my dead brother, I wanted people to see me as happy. I never asked for pity and never ever wanted it, I wanted people to look at me and think, "Wow she looks so happy."

I was kind of lost in my own little world, day dreaming as you would say. I knew Felix probably thought I hadn't a clue about death and the excruciating pain it brought to people. That's what every person thought about me or so I heard.

I snapped out of my glazed state and focused on Felix more.

"What do you like to do Felix?" I questioned smiling. I rocked back and forth on my heels yet again knowing i was nervous.

Felix~

"Besides mope around and feel sorry for myself?" I answered. My light joke did it's job and she cracked a smile. "Hmm. I boxed for a while. I was moderately successful... I studied art for a bit too." I told her wistfully, "And you?"

Our conversation carried along like this. With light questions and an intense yet subtle interest to learn more about each other. In fact, the attention we gave each other was quite excluding.

In fact, we were oblivious of our surroundings until a scream from close by brought us back to earth.

Raven had randomly collapsed and was now being cradled in Spencer's protective embrace.

We were all on our guard- for anything, though we didn't know what to expect.

I was nearly thrown off my feet from the aura of dead. The atmosphere darkened and the air pressure grew more heavy until it was almost unbearable.

The others powers were also being triggered. Some of them took the surprise more gracefully than others.

Felicie~

I was watching the clouds. They seemed like they were getting ready for a storm. My sensitive mood was feeling quick change in the air.

It was then that I realized Layne looking up at me.

I had been doing my best to ignore Gary and his's quarrel. It was really getting on my nerves. I would wait until it got more serious to help.

I stared back. It wasn't like me to look away from someone who was intently staring at me. I always stared back. it was a personal challenge for me to never break a stare.

Neither of us would budge. This had become a pretty hard-core staring contest.

I was shocked into breaking the stare when Raven screamed and the sky seemed to just drop on us. I felt like I was being squeezed between two walls.

I nearly screamed myself. My emotions were in agony. My brain seemed to be on fire. This was internal sabatoge by a greater force

Emily *I've decided to do it in first person, since it is easier*

Ballow and I were nearly blown off our feet, and strange things started happening with our powers. I started morphing into horrible, undesirable things. I turned from a huge man eating spider, to a gigantic snake, and then, to a shadow. I struggled to morph back into my original form, but it was no use. Ballow was worse. He was turning younger to about a 5 year old, then, back into his normal age, then forward twenty years, and then back.

A whole army of shadows was raining down upon us, scratching at us, and attacking us. But suddenly, they all turned to me. I looked down at myself and saw that I was still a shadow. I struggled and struggled to turn back to normal, but I couldn't. It seemed like I was stuck a shadow forever. They started closing in on me and Ballow and Raven ran in, trying to attack the shadows, but it was no use. They formed some sort of wall.

And then, as quick as a wink, they grabbed me and went off, flying away with me dangling in the air, screaming.
I came into this world wrinkled and ugly. And no matter how much I accumulate here, it's a short journey. I will go out of this world wrinkled and ugly. So I enjoy life.

*Texan... just one thing... can you please try to involve everyone when fight scenes pop up, instead of trying to take it all yourself? I think that could be considered god-modding... just my spiel.*

Layne stuffed his hands in his pockets, refusing to blink or break his eye contact with Felicie. Obviously, they were having a staring contest.

Intent on winning, Layne focused his entire consciousness into not blinking, and barely heard Raven scream.

"Run!" she shouted, standing in the middle fo the road in front of an alley crawling with shadows. Layne cursed, watching as the others ran in the other direction. Raven may have been confident in her abilities, but she wasn't all powerful, and wouldn't be able to take all of them.

Running up to stand beside her, Layne grabbed her hand and squeezed it. "Are you an imbocile?" he asked her, closing his eye's and focusing on his power. "Agh, nevermind, we can settle this later. One three, release all you can."

Layne slightly begna to tremble. He knew he couldn't take all of these shadows himself, and doing it with only Raven was still pushing it. Ignoring the blatant fact that he very well might die just to save this girl, Layne searched for the nearest stick. Finding it, he engulfed it in flames and animated it, making a giant of swirling flames and ash. Unsconscious to what Raven was doing beside him, he used the hulking beast to dive into the pool of shadows in front of them.

With a bang, he felt the power from his minion and whatever Raven had done destroy the shadows into nothing but ash. He felt Raven's grip loosen, and her body topple to the ground. Fighting to keep himself awake, Layne succumbed to the discipline of his actions. Slowly, his body sunk to the ground, and his mind lost it's connection with the world around him.

It wasn’t really a fight scene. Raven sensed/saw the shadows, told the others to run as she did so herself, and blacked out. What none of the other characters know yet is that shadow sensing, for Raven, involves headaches that can make you black out. But yeah, I can see what you mean. Sorry! I just broke one of my own rules… stupid…… and I can’t write until Raven wakes up!! What was I thinking…

It would definitely make it more understandable if we started over...like we could make it much better and it'd be fun to improve on what I wrote that i didn't like.

Maribelle

Before I could tell him my own likings something so powerful and strong hit me hard. I gritted my teeth feeling the emotions of fear, anger, sadness, and rushed. My heart stopped and I couldn't focus, I mustered all my strength and screamed at the top of my lungs. The pain was excruciating, it was tearing me apart.

My eyes were rolling to the back of my head, the shadows were scraping my arms and legs. I heard Felix shout and knew he was probably in worse pain then I was.

errr...I should sense the shadow too
--------------------------------------------
My head shot up, as I felt that knot in my stomach.
It was here.
Then I head Raven and the others.
I could feel the energy coming from this one.
And it had plans...bad ones.
It wasn't like the others...he was more...evil...more merciless.
"Run! And whatever you do DO NOT look it in the eye." I shouted, taking off into the woods, praying under my breath that none of them would be captured.
If they were I would HAVE to safe them...and if I won't be able to? Then? I don't want to think about that...

*Lol. Gary's lonely... -snorts- that's quite funny, really. I have no idea why. Every heard the expression 'sausage fingers'? I have a sausage finger. I jammed it. :[*

Raven screamed. The shadows closed in, and Spencer was faced with a choice. Cadence was panicking, and he hoped she wouldn't break-down now. She'd been very anxious lately. You couldn't tell even as a close friend, but being a twin... things were different. You could tell in and instant. You were the other half.

Maribelle's head shot up before they all her Raven scream for them to run. Maribelle instructed them to run, and not look in their eyes. As everyone scattered, Cadence panicked. Her head darted back and forth. But Raven was on the ground, crumpled up and helpless. Spencer's heart thudded. He raced forwards, grabbing a beat-up hockey stick (how convienient!) that had been trashed.

He lashed out at the shadows before scooping Raven up and darting forwards. Cadence was athletic, but she'd always told Spencer that he was fast when he wanted to be. As Spencer ran, with he determined step he took, the ground tumbled beneath him. He hoped the shadows fell in.

Cadence was grasping her head. Was she having an attack? Cadence did get panic attacks, ever since she was young. She cracked under pressure, but was so clever. The shadows did not see her-- he thought-- as he continued running. He didn't stop for some time, but when he did, he still had an eye on everyon except Cadence.

I just did this because I have to work on a ton of homework tonight. That's all. I may get on later.
