Before I start, Light Devil, your haiku is the best haiku I've ever read! XP
Holy crap, has anyone noticed our ages only range between 13-15? Creeeeepy. (Not.)

Raven, not looking up from her crust, interrupted “’Cause I think you might be able to help me. I’m only like this because of what the shadow has done to me. It changes people when it gets… to close for comfort.”
I sensed that Cadence was frozen with fear. I comfortingly rubbed my hand along her spine. "It's okay," I murmured, "she's not a shadow." Cadence nodded her head absent-mindedly. In Raven's small house, i noticed that a window was cracked just slightly. a few shards of glass had fallen onto the dust covered floor, like fallen stars.
The wind gusted through omniously. Cadence's blond hair brushed against her cheeks like threads from fabric. She'd stopped chewing, again. Raven was staring towards the window, her eyes wide; searching. Searching for what, I didn't know.
"A shadow..." Raven whispered, almost unintelligibly. Through Cadence's veil of blond hair I saw her eyes widened with fear. Her heart must be pounding in a frenzy right now. I rubbed her back again. "We have powers, remember that. We can move the earth, and you are telekinetic. You can move objects around."
"But only if they're lighter than me!"
"We've had this conversationg before. It annoyed you back then, really peeved you off, but now I'm going to say it again: you're not stick-thin. You can atleast lift a microwave!"
Cadence this time dropped the topic and nodded her head down. Raven was out of her seat now, and was leaning over the old kitchen counter, looking down onto the street. not a sound was made, except for the aimless shuffle of footsteps. No... wait, two pairs of footsteps? My heart thudded inside my chest. I had to stay calm or else Cadence would begin to freak out even more than she already was.
Raven beckoned us over to the window with a frantic wave of her hand. Her eyes never moved from the dirty glass. I peered over her shoulder. There, before us, stood a mysterious looking man. He was probably around twenty-one years old. A cigarette hung from his mouth, the smoke curling like a ribbon and caught by the wind. He wore a dingy black sweater, covered in grime and crimson... and he was staring straight towards the window. His eyes, expressionless as a ghost's, stared towards us, but was he really seeing us?
"Are there any more?" Cadence asked, her voice shaking a bit. She was close to tears. I knew that her determined outlook on life was shot down mostly when she was scared or nervous. She just needed initiative, and she probably would kill the shadow down there.
Raven shook her head. Then why did I hear another set of footsteps... or was that just my heart pounding?

So, this part could leave room for someone's character to join in, or not. If no one else's character comes in at this part, I'll let you cover it TexanWriter.

Very sorry about that, this seemed like it would be fun. (:

Maribelle
I sat myself on a park bench the wind having an icy zeal to it, many people around me were taken by the shadow. Even though i had a power to control people's emotion's it was limited to people i knew. I smiled half heartedly at a little boy who was trying his best to get past the shadow.
I relaxed and closed my eyelids letting the breeze ease my mind. I let my powers take on effect and listened to people's minds as they past me.
How can she be so happy when our world is like this? I opened my eyes to look at the person who had thought that, it was an older woman. She glared at me as I smirked, then she briskly dragged the little boy away and left. I snickered a little and closed my eyes again feeling more or less content.
Who is that girl? I swear i know her from somewhere... This time my eyes shot open wildly looking around for the person, it was someone i had seen before. But their appearance didn't ring any bells, I tried to search for a name in the back of my head.
With no luck i got up and walked over to them, "Hello there my name is Maribelle, may i ask you what yours is?"
s/he just stared and laughed a little, obviously someone who hadn't been affected by the shadow yet.
HI, just your friednly neighborhood welcoming commitee and police officer talking!!
LaReina - Please, don't curse or use language. I don't know about others, but I really don't like to read or hear it when I'm in the middle of a story. I'll let you off this time, since it wasn't really in the writing. All I ask is that you use... um... well, please don't cuss, to put it bluntly.
StolenHearts - No hard feelings! It makes more sense now. Eleven rather than ten. How many times is there an even number?!
Someone else has to post next. Previously posted personalities don't really fit that image. And the trio in Ravens house, are, well, in Ravens house!
Religion without science is lame; science without religion is blind.

Holy *ahem* crap? Sorry, I'll stop. I'm just so used to saying it when I'm angry or annoyed in real life. I guess it rubs off on the paper too! no worries, I'll try to make that little memo to myself.
"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person.
Ballow chuckled at the girls antics. It was obvious that she wasn't effected or barely effcted by the shadow. He stared at her for a second, his eyes narrowed cautiously at her.
Then he checked his watch which of course was the wrong time. He let out a sigh and then grinned at the girl, "So, you are?"
"I think I ask you that question first." she retorted.
BAllow started and then shook is head with a soft smile, "I'm sorry I wasn't listening, you were saying?"
She let out an exapserated sigh, "I'm Maribelle, who are you?"
Ballow let out a whistle, "Well, you know that is a rather vague question. I could tell you I am a human, or that I am a mammal, or that I am a guy. Could you be a bit more specific?"
She bit her lip in annoyance and replied, "What is your name?"
Ballow drew a finger to his chin and pondered on it for a second, "Well, I would've like to be called Azrael, but truly my name's Ballow. How you going?"
Maribelle found herself answering the questioning without really thinking, "Not good. The shadows are getting worse!"
Ballow titled his head sideways to scratch at his neck, then he glanced once again at his watch. She riased an inquisative eyebrow at him and he grinned sheepishly, "Sorry, paranoid time might stop on me."
*Stolenhearts, it seemed like you took the power that I had. No biggie.. I changed mine to morphing *
Emily
The people at the table experienced a shock when the blank faced man began to change. He turned into a young Chinese woman. She ran into the house, shutting and locking the door behind her.
"Sorry to barge in, but we have a problem. A shadow is right outside and is trying to get in. I almost got infected." All of the others nodded dimly and got up, packing up what was left of their tiny lunch.
The woman, who was rather small and petite spoke up. "Who are you?"
"Emily..And you?"
***Sorry for the short post! I am struggling to get the basic gist of what is happening at the moment***
I came into this world wrinkled and ugly. And no matter how much I accumulate here, it's a short journey. I will go out of this world wrinkled and ugly. So I enjoy life.
*So, is this post with ours? I'm guessing yes, from what I understand? I'll continue anyways, and if it isn't, i'll just delete. And I'm changing my writing style.*
Cadence stumbled back and landed on her rear. "Oof," she cried out as the wind was knocked from her lungs. The small chinese woman who had run in was quite frantic it seemed.
"Emily... And you?" the girl said. Her hand was still frozen in place on the lock, her body swivelled around. Cadence let out a sigh of relief when Raven seemed to relax a bit. This girl wasn't infected. Then a shiver shot but up Cadence's spine. "A... A shadow?" she tumbled over the words trying to get them out.
Emily nodded her head. Cadence closed her eyes. If the shadow came she could lift the microwave.... Okay, that was good enough, wasn't it? And she could get Spencer to move the ground for her while she did that. Spencer offered Cadence his hand, yanking her up with only a small amount of strength. "Wow, you are light," Spencer joshed. Cadence punched his arm playfully. She was glad she still had her twin to be with her. without him she'd feel so lost.
Cadence put on a brave face, and acted very poised. "I am Cadence Wayne," She offered a hand to Emily. "And this is my twin brother, Spencer Wayne. Please to meet you."
Raven's eyes darted back to the window. Was the shadow getting closer? Spencer's eyes closed for a bried moment, then opened back up. "I can hear a can in the alley beside your house. I'm going to go steal its body for a bit, and see if the shadow's around," Spencer said. "You go find a hiding spot."
"As if!" Cadence snorted. "I'm not letting you go out alone."
"Oh, so we're all going then, are we?" Spencer smiled mischeviously despite the strangers that lurked around him. Cadence gave him a half-hearted smile. She really hope the others wouldn't agree.
"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person.

Maribelle
I let out a chuckle, as he checked his watch yet again. I tried to make an attempt to see what was going on in this guy's head, but that didn't work out too well. I got bits and pieces of thoughts but not a readable one. I couldn't help but scrunch up my nose in failure wondering how i couldn't read his mind. I knew he was feeling rushed and antsy, I looked over him with a smile.
"Why do you say that Ballow? I can call you Azreal if you'd like!" I giggled, I didn't have a clue why but I was in an undeniably good mood today. While I was happy many other people were down and in despair, they rushed past me. Their thoughts constantly filling my mind.
"I mean it's not that big of a deal is it...If everyone just died. Don't you believe in a higher power? When I die I will die happy." I said getting totally off topic, but expressing how i had felt.
"Aren't you an interesting one..." Ballow said slowly, trying to choose his words wisely. I let out a sigh and smiled, trying to lower the weird vibes.
Ha ha [s]it's your book[/s] (: I'm just waiting for people to post lol.
Wait, scratch that...let me rephrase that sentence. It's your idea, sure you can't copy word for word of what people write here. But, if you ever want to come back to this idea when you get in the author area you'll be able to get some insight and make it even better.

It's not my book. I physically cannot take full credit for something others have written. It's against my programming. Thanks again!!

"Oh, so we're all going then, are we?" Spencer smiled mischievously despite the strangers that lurked around him. Cadence gave him a half-hearted smile. She really hope the others wouldn't agree.
“No one’s going,” I said, still staring out the window. Everyone turned to me. No pressure, I was used to being looked at funny.
“So, your plan is to be taken by the shadows?” Emily crossed her arms. I’d have to explain fast. “We’re all going to be victims?”
I looked at Cadence. Whatever lick of courage that was left in her, I tried to awaken. For once, I didn’t want to frighten people like they frighten me. Our eyes met, but not in a gross way. She nodded, her smile widening a little.
“Spencer? Do something useful,” Cadence said, not taking her eyes away from mine. “Me and Raven are going to save the day real fast.”
I tried to smile. It wouldn’t come. I hadn’t smiled for as long as I could remember.
I walked to and stood in the middle of the room, my black sneakers putting mud all over the tattered carpet. I turned and held out my hands out to Cadence. She walked over to me somewhat quickly. The whispers and moans of the shadows could be heard. The ceiling lamp between us and Spencer and Emily went off. Cadence clutched my hands, her red painted nails digging into my palms, my black painted ones barely trying to touch hers.
“Hurry up on whatever you’re trying to do!” Emily said, seconds before she shrieked. A shadow had climbed through the broken window and was clinging to her clothes.
Now, Cadence. Think. Make a wall. Protect your brother from the shadows. Close your eyes. Think. Think… Think……
I had tried to telepathically tell her. Had she heard me? I did the same. I closed my eyes. I felt my feet go limp, not touching a thing. Soon we were about six feet off the ground.
“You can open your eyes now, Cadence. It’s not too high.” I tried again to talk to her.
I looked at her face. She looked down, and I thought she was about to faint. That wouldn’t do at all.
“Cadence! Your brother is right behind you, fighting off shadows!” I tried not to scream it. Emily, sitting on the table, looked at us. She had heard me, and I didn’t care. “Concentrate!!”
She again closed her eyes, and we slowly flew higher. And higher. And higher. My head almost touched the ceiling. I blew the worthless roof into the sky above us. Spencer gave a small yelp. A shadow was gaining structure and trying to strangle him. We flew faster into the air.
I looked around us, though thinking about the wall being my main focus. We flew a mile into the air. A bright white ring was growing around the house, darkness trying desperately to get past. I grinned for the first time in years. These people could help me. And I had helped them. We stopped flying, but the circle continued to grow, the dark shadows clinging to the outside, trying to get in. My grin grew into a smile. I found myself laughing out loud before long. Cadence looked up at me, startled. I looked at her, too, and said
“Cadence, you did it! Their safe. We’re safe. You made a wall!!” I laughed again. She laughed along with me. And then she looked down. After looking like she was going to puke, she passed out. Reality came back to me in a flash. I screamed as loud as I possibly could. We were heading down, she was feet first, and I had a haunch that my nose would be broken before the rest of me. It was all I could do to keep us virtually parachuting down. We were going to die if she didn’t wake up.

Did I keep the personalities right? I hope I did. I edited because I realized I had written Candence instead of Cadence. Notice the extra n? This is also supposed to show you how the stonehearted Raven thinks and feels. And yes, I did this in first-person. I think I write better that way...

She looked up to see those two falling. Calmly, she morphed her body into a giant trampoline, which was all she could think of at the time. The two bounced off of it and landed on the ground, feet first.
Raven was supporting Cadence, who was totally limp. Spencer got up and picked his sister up. The shadow had vanished.
Shaking, Emily asked: "What now?"
-Soo sorry for the super short posts! I am exhausted and I need to get to bed.-
I came into this world wrinkled and ugly. And no matter how much I accumulate here, it's a short journey. I will go out of this world wrinkled and ugly. So I enjoy life.
Gary griped his empty stomach the rumbles making a sound that he had never heard before. He was hungry very hungry he had not really eaten in a four days, he had eaten some small berries he found but only about five. As he walked he finally found a home, and he began to shot forward. He was not running but he was moving very fast, the earth under him was moving instead. He finally came to the house but when he was a few meters away he saw darkness around it. He quickly manipulated the earth so to make a pillar the rose him above the ground then he jumped landing on the roof that quickly caved in under him. He looked around him as he was in the center of a room with four others in it. They seemed to have a combination of shock, sorrow and some hope in his arrival.
"hey, you got any food cause i am just starved" Gary spoke and then got up dusting himself off.
*sorry for the shortness i am at a loss for what to write*
HAHA!! I'm beginning to like Gary:P Anyways, welcome aboard! Thanks for picking Ravens House (as I am calling it). Gives me something to do.
Raven
---
Cadence had barely woken up when some guy came crashing through the roof. The first four stared in surprise at this newcomer, sprawled on the floor and looking dazed.
"Hey, you got any food 'cause I am just starved," was the first thing he said.
He picked himself up and, dusting himself off, looked around and headed straight for the refridgerator.
"Hey!" said Raven, her eyes straight on the newcomer. He turned around, giving the innocent look. "Who are you? You can have a sandwich after."
"MynameisGaryIhaven'teateninfourdaysallI'vfehadareafewworthlessberriessocanIpleasesomefoodnow?" He spoke as fast as a commercial speaker, and as clearly as a baboon to Raven.
"One more time, and clearly," Said Emily, still staring at the newcomer. "And breath."
The newcomer rolled his eyes and said
"You can only ask so much of a guy! My name is Gary I haven't eaten in four days. All I've had are a few worthless berries, so can I please have some food now?"
"Fine, Gary. There's ham and bread and-- or at least there was," Raven said. Gary had started to raid the refridgerator at the 'fine'. He had all the fixings of the ham sandwiches, plus a half gallon of apple juice.
"Thanks," Gary mumbled, his mouth full of food. "Who're you all again?"
After they had introduced themselves, Raven requested that Gary finish eating before telling them his history.
