Starstruck

**Time skip**

Colt walked around the bed room yawning as he bounced Trent. "Go to bed, boy, I'm so tired." he ywned. "Rock a bye, and goodnight, go to sleep little baby." He started singing.

Journey finally came in, she was in boxer shorts and another tank top.
"Uh, finally, your who he wants. Here, sweetheart." he said handing her Trent. She took the bundle in her arms. The baby wouldn't stop crying. "I swear I'm not going to get any sleep." Colt sat down at the edge of their bed and put his face in his hands when he finally exhailed.
"I know, honey, and I'm sorry, but he's a baby he doesn't know any better." Journey apologized.

"Don't apologize. I understand completely." He said soflty. He yawned nad laid down. "Just exhausted. Try feeding him."

"Ok." She said. He heard her sit down then Trent stopped his crying.

"it worked." He yawned.

"Guess so." She said, ther was a faint smile in her voice.

Trent finally calmed down and Journey wanted to cry tears of happiness. She looked down as he made a funny sound. She heard Colt laugh.
"That was an odd sound." he said not getting up. "Looking forward to alot of those."
Trent reached up to touch Journey's hand. "Hey, sweetheart!" Journey smiled and laughed when the baby smiled back.

Colt got up and wlaked ove.r "I'll get him to sleep, get some rest." He said taking Trent who looked up at him with his amazing eyes.

"Thank you." She said softly.

"Your welcome, love, very welcome." He rocked Trent til he fell asleep then put him in the crib they put in their room. he tehn walked over to the bed and laid down next to Journey's sleeping form.

Journey felt Colt get into bed, she turned over carefully. "You got him to sleep?" she asked. "Damn, now I owe your mom five dollars." she said.
"What? My mom? Five dollars? What do you... Journey! You bet I couldn't get Trent to sleep didn't you?!" he laughed.
"Well, I bet your mom that you couldn't get the baby to sleep for the first time, she bet if you started to talk to him, he would definatly fall asleep." she smiled.
He rolled his eyes and she laughed quietly. "I love you, hon." Journey said kissing him.

"Let's get sleep while we can." He said as he yawned.

The next morning Colt barely got out of bed. He woke up to Trent crying again and he hurried to get him before he woke up Journey. He managed to then went down the stairs and cooked breakfast talking to Trent the whole time after feeding him.

"Momma's gonna be surprised that we boys can take care of ourselves." He said smiling at Trent who smiled back.


***I gotta go to bed. No late nighters for me again***

Journey was spred out on their bed and she rolled over until she fell onto her hands and knees yelping again. She made a sound in her throat and crawled until she could get up. She finally got up and staarted jogging downstairs until she saw Colt making breakfast, he hadn't yet spotted her, she picked up Trent and went quickly to hide in the bathroom with the door cracked half way open.
"We're so going to surpise your mom." he said turning around not seeing journey or the baby. "Trent? Buddy? Kiddo where are you?" Colt started freaking out. "Oh, your mom is going to kill me!" he said, lookinf everywhere.
Journey came out of the bathroom laughing, holding their son in her arms.
"Journey!" he said in a weird tone.
"I'm sorry honey, but that was soooooo priceless!" she smiled. "Goodmorning."

"Goodmorning, and that wasn't in the least bit funny. I thought he learned how to walk." He smiled kissing her then Trent. "Come on, breakfast is surved." he smiled.

"Yum." She replied.

"Trent helped." He smiled.

"I hope you don't mean spit up." She twisted her face and he laughed.

"No, just kept me company."

Journey streched. "Um, that was good sleep. Until I woke up. I fell again like that first day when we slept in the same room."
"The good ol' days." he smiled
"The parent free careless days when we just fooled around and could sleep. Yeah, the good ol days." she laughed with him. "But then something better came along." Journey looked at the baby.
"He is really worth it all." he said.
She nodded while smiling. "He was, and he still is."

**Two weeks later**

Colt held Trent in his arms as he slept on the couch. Trent kept hitting hsi face pulling his hair whenever his hands touched it.

"Knock knock?" He heard a voice and sat up looking at his parents. "Don't you look like awalking zombie."

"Hi." He said as he moved Trent to his other arm.

"We've come to see if we can steal our grandson for two days?" His mom smiled walking over and letting Trent latch onto her finger.

"Ask Journey." He yawned. "But she's asleep up stairs right now."

Journey moaned when she felt someone touch her shoulder the first two weeks had been pure hell, they took turns. She loved the baby with all her heart though. She saw her in laws come into the room.
"Hello, Journey how've you been?" Colt's mother asked.
"Tired, but um, we've been doing the best we can." she smiled lightly.
"We know, we were wondering if we coould take the baby off your hands for a couple of days."
"Well... um... That would be great, but um he doesn't use a bottle yet. You guy could hang out with him for a while. Colt's downstairs."
"We know we just past by him he said if it was alright with you if we coul take the baby for a couple of days."
"OK, just can you guys call us and tell us how he's doing, before you go to sleep?" she asked.
"Of course."
"Thanks." she smiled.

Colt had fallen back to sleep when his parents came down. Trent's cooing woke him up.

"We have his clothes, hand him over and go to bed.' His mom smiled reaching for Trent. COlt yawned and gave her Trent after kissing him then was ushered up the stairs. He fell on the bed and went to sleep quickly.


*Tears, all ihave, i had to go*

MORNING________
Journey rolled over onto Colt. "Whoops!" she laughed. "Didn't see you there, daddy." she laughed at him.
"Ha ha thanks mommy." he said back. "You hear that?" he asked.
"Hear what?" she looked around.
"Exactly, silence." he grinned.
"Colt!" she said smacking him with a pillow.
"Ow..." he laughed. "What? I love the little guy too but admit it Journ he keeps us up at night."
"That's what babies do." she said.
"Not, true my parents said I was a quiet one." he said.
Journey burst out laughing. "Oh, yes, your real quiet!" she laughed, kissing him.

Colt smiled and kissed her back. "I'm just saying, we needed that night's sleep." He replied.

"Oh no!" SHe gasped. "I have to call your mom." She grabbed the phone and dialed the number from meory.

"Why?" HE asked.

"To check on Trent." She replied.

"Good idea!" He smiled. "Put it on speaker."

"Hello?" His mom answered the phone. They oculd hear Trent cooing in the background.

"Hey, we're calling to see if Trent is behaving." Colt said. Journey hit him and he smiled.

"He's being a little angel." His mom laughed. "Took to a bottle without any trouble, I got them from the fridge and I have enough for two days. You two are smart planning hta far ahead."

"We're not always sure when we'll be awake enough to get some more." Journey laughed.

"Well, y'all are doing amazing, this little guy is so great."
