**who's Kyle? I dunno either I just wanted to time skip again**

Journey glared at Colt, she realized she was burning the pancakes. "Damnit!" she shouted. They were arguing about sending Trent to a summer camp, Journey was happy about it, Colt didn't want him to go.
"Are you still mad?" colt asked.
"What do YOU think, Colt?" she glared.
he rolled his eyes. "I don't think he should go, he's eight years old, and I don't want anything happening to him."
"Colt, it's no secret you haven't been there for him."
Colt gave her a sharp glare.

***I meant Colt***

"Haven't been there for him!" Colt boomed. "I keep food in his mouth. No, I don't spend as much time with you or him as I'd like, but I'm keeping this family alive."

"Sometimes I wouldn't mind going without just to ahve you here more. He needs this, to get out." She replied.

"But camp?" Colt asked. "What'll a camp do for him?"

**Oh OK, this is my last post, and if not, yeppie!**

Journey put her hands on her hips. "He's a kid." she said.

"He's OUR kid, Journey." he growled.

"You know what I meant." she replied.

"I can't belive you said that to me!" he shouted.

"Well, it's only the truth." she said. "Your not there for him, you know Colt he doesn't even ask for you anymore and you should see the light in his eyes turn off like a lightswitch when I tell him your NOT here."

"Well, maybe thats why I want to spend time with him, this summer. Let's all spend time with him." Colt said.

"Ha!" she laughed saracssticly. "YOU need to spend time with him."

"I can't change the fact that I have to work so much." He growled.

"Yes you can! Your father left everything to you telling you that at any time you can just hire someone to do the work and you would still pull in as much money!" She growled back.

"I don't want to elave it to be run by someone else." He growled.

"So your going to abandon for family for work!" She hissed.

"You want me to take off. Huh? Is that what you want?" He demanded.

"YES!" She shouted. "What have I been tellin you?" She hissed. "You needc to spend more time with your son, you need to get someone to do most of the work at the office so you can take care of your family!"

"Ok, that's what I'll do then." He replied grabbing the keys to his car and storming out of the house.

Journey knew that if it was possible for steam to be coming out of her ears, it would be. As soon as she heard the car pull away from the curb, she slammed the dish she was holding into the floor, it shattered and went flying everywhere. She hated that Colt could do that turn off his emotions like a freak'n lightswitch. She pulled her hair into ponytail, they were even married! They had been raising, SHE had been raising their son.

"Shit." she muttered getting underneath the table to get the shattered pieces of glass. "Damn, workaholic!" she growled she braced both hands against the sink and stretched her muscles.

***They aren't married, are they?***

Colt got everything arranged at work and no one questioned him noticing what mood he was in.

"Everything ok son?" His dad asked.

"No." He growled as he shoved some stuff into a box so that someone could use this office, he would be moving up a flour to a nother one that he didn't have to be there very much.

"Get in a fight?" He asked.

"Yes, she says I'm not a good father, that I don't take care of Trent." He said sitting down. "I miss how we were when he was still a baby, before I took over this company. THe connection we had."

"THen get that back." His father replied.

"I'm not sure I can." He sighed running a hand over his face.

"Get away, summer'll be here in two days. Trent'll be out of school, take them somewhere, just have fun." His dad replied.

"Alright, I can't lose them." He said getting up and walking towards the parking lot. He was going home to try and fix what he had ruined so long ago.

Journey was tired by the time she had done the laundry, cleaned the kitchen, no no no the entire house! She'd cooked dinner and was now trying to take a deep breath from breathing fire onto everyone. Finally when Trent got home she scooped him up in her arms, although he was getting heavy. The first thing the little one said was,

"Mama, I want a brother... small one. Can you and daddy get one for me?" he asked.

she smiled and bit her lip. "I'm sorry kid." she said holding him on her hip, but it took her both arms. She'd remembered when she had rocked him in the rocking chair, when he took his first step. When Colt was there. Human, and very much happy and alive.

Colt looked at the door to his house. What would Journey do when he walked through the door. Would she yell at him. He was home earlier then normal. He opened the door and stepped in.

"Daddy!" Trent cried from Journey's hip. Journey put the squirming kid down as Trent ran over to him. He scooped him up and smiled.

"Hey, Buddy, what did you get into today?" He asked with a smiled.

"Lot's of stuff. I don't want school to be over!" Trent smiled brightly back.

"Ah, well it'll start back up." Colt smiled. "Can I tell you a seceret?" He asked in a lowered whisper.

"Uh huh!" Trent squealed in delight. Colt put his mouth next to the boys ears.

"We're going to have a fun summer." He whispered.

"YAY!" Trent smiled hugging his neck.

Journey went back to the kitchen, she was frusterated as hell. She shook her head with her eyes in a glare as she made a loud breathing sound, rolling her eyes. She didn't say anything, and she didn't have to. Trent called to Journey. "Mama?" he asked.

"What?" she asked putting a smile in her voice. As she said it gently.

"Is it true? Are we going to have fun?" he asked.

"Yeah, baby." she nodded her hair covering her facial expression.

***ok***

Colt looked over at Journey and frowned. He walked over and looked at the food setting Trent down to finish his homework. He walked to the kitchen and leaned against the counter.

"Sorry about earlier." He said watching her work. "Can I help with anything?"

"No." SHe replied curtly.

"Come on, Journey, please. I've really screwed up the past few years, I'm sorry. I just want it back like it used to be. Before the buisness. Please." He said softly.

Journey closed her eyes as she felt tears sting. "So do I." she said. But she knew it was never going to be the same, she felt it sort of. Her life had been nothing but raising their son. "I don't need any help. I um ah, I'm done." she said. "Go ahead and sit down." she hadn't moved from her postion she still had her shoulder muscules tight and her hair was still covering her face.

Colt looked at her and brushed her hair back. "I'm don't blame you for still being mad at me. I get clean up tonight."

"B...." She started.

"No, I'll do them." He walked to the dinning room scooping up his son and smiling. "you ready to eat?"

"Yup!"

Journey pulled back when Colt tried to kiss her. She avoided eye contact with him. Ans she tried to not talk to him as much as possible, sure, they were parents. She knew their son was in the room. She looked at him, he looked so much like his father. She couldn't help but think, she ran her hand through Trent's hair, smiling at him.

Colt felt like she'd stabbed him, but he deserved it. He set Trent down and htey ate dinner while Trent talked about his day.

"I can't wait for this summer! What are we going to do daddy?" Trent asked looking at him. Colt smiled, he had his mother's eyes.

"Well, what do you want to do?" He asked with a mischievous grin.

"Have you and mommy not fight." Trent said his face getting serious.

"We're gonna work on that. What else do you want to do?" COlt asked his heart crushing. What had he put his family through?

Journey looked at her son.

"We're not fighting." she insisted.

Colt looked at her, she felt his stare against her neck, until she finally turned to him.

"Then what would you call it, Journey?" he asked.

She raised an eyebrow and stared at him for the longest time.

In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.
— JRR Tolkien
