Chase

"Chase?" Abi came walking into the room. He looked up.
"Yeah?"
"Melpomene wants to talk to everyone for a second," Abi said, then walked back out of the room.
"Emily, Emily," Chase said, gently shaking her.
"Huh?" she asked, opening her eyes.
"Melpomene wants to talk to everyone," he whispered, then planted a gently kiss on her cheek. She smiled and got up.

John arrived just in time for the meating whatever it was about anyway he hoped theyed finaly

I had them surrounding me. Even John came; though he looked like it had taken a lot to drag himself here. Emily and Chase were sitting really close. They were really cute. Everyone looked tired and shaken but they had adapted quite well to the very difficult, hard, long, tedious, and sometimes very random assignments. I'd say that they definitely passed level Z.

"I need everyone to listen. I've found the headquarters. Problem. It's in the North Pole. It's going to take awhile and nobody has the strength to get there. We can get up as close as we can but it'll be a trek from there. You guys have held out well. I hope you can manage frigid weather as you've managed this. I'm going to first take you to our headquarters. They're well hidden in... John, please step out of the room."

"Why."

"The less you know, the better. As long as you don't know, the enemy can't torture you into telling. It's for your own good."

"What makes you think they'll even bother with me?"

"You've been getting distant. That's all I'll say." John slowly, with the last bit of pride he had, stepped from the room.

I slowly whispered the location in Ellie's ear, as she was sitting closest to me. "In the atlantic ocean. Pass it on."

We arrived there as soon as we could. The underwater room made the childrens eyes go wide.

Emily

She gasped as they entered the underwater room. It looked to be some sort of pressurized glass dome. All types of fishes swam above their heads. Colorful fish, dull fish, and even great white shark passed. Emily inched closer to Chase.

"John, you may take off your blindfold," Melpomene requested. John, who looked rather hurt and annoyed, did so. "Now I had winter clothing made for you while we were traveling." She led the group to a corner of the dome to where a table was laid out with personalized snow suits. They were all white, to blend in with the snow, but in black stitching, their names were laid out on the side in cursive.

"Don't look at me like that, Chase! I don't do embroidery. I didn't make these." Chase was staring at them, close to laughing. "You can rest in here. The sharks will protect us." Not even questioning what I said, knowing my randomness, they slumped down on the downy blue couches that matched everything around us. It was a camaflouge thing. "Have a coke." They looked up at me in amazement. They had gone at least 3 months without a coke or access to modern privileges. I had found the fridge.

Contented, almost, at last we finally settled down for a peaceful rest. Probably out last though.

Chase

"I think I have forgotten the taste of coke," Emily said, staring at the can. No one opened their coke for some reason.
"Oh come on. No one can forget how coke tastes like," Chase said, smiling. He opened his can and took a long drink.
Everyone followed his actions. "Ah!" could be heard from everywhere.


***Ah...coke***

Emily

Savoring the sweet taste of Coke, Emily sat back next to Chase. A thought crossed her mind. What if they don't make it back alive? Shaking her head, Emily rested her head on Chase's shoulder. She didn't want to think now.

She didn't know that she had fallen asleep until she was woken up to Melopmene's voice, waking up everyone else as well.

"It's time to go."

John

John looked for his snow suit their wasn't one. "John come over here" Melepone whispered, John walked over too Melepone "I'm sorry John but your not coming with us, your going on a differant misson"
"what do you mean I want to come with you guys"
"no John you have to save the school, Theirs a school on a eartquake faultline I ne.."
" Of cource their is Liz was right, you don't trust me" John yelled before leaving to go back to Liz.


John walked with Liz he explained to Liz everything that they had talked about. When Liz stopped "John the problem is Melepone was right" Bang! Bang! Two bullets ripped through John "I thought you loved me Liz"
"I Do" she said before shooting him 3 more times. John was DEAD!.

Chase

It seemed to be like other days, at least ever since John left. Working, getting back to the base late, trying to get as much sleep as possible; all of it was the same.

Until now.

A scream ripped through the air as everyone sat down for dinner.
"What the..." Abi started as she covered her ears.
"Melpomene," Jake said.
Everyone got up and ran to where the scream was coming from.
"Oh my goodness, Melpomene!" Emily and Ellie all three ran foward to Melpomene, who was twitching on the floor. Tears were rolling off her face.
"What happened?" Chase asked.
"John..." she said. "He's dead."

Abigayle


Melpomene's words hung in the air, Abi's ears not wanting to hear them. She didn't really know John but emotion seemed to take over. As she looked down at Melpomene tears welled up in her eyes. Beside her Jake put his arm around her, Abi putting her head on his shoulder. Abi, she thought, what are you doing? You didn't even know him that well.



Jake

Jake didn't know what was happening. He was standing beside Abi and now he had his arm around her. She cried into his jacket as they stood and as much as he wanted to give her a hug and tell her nothing was going to happen to her, he couldn't. It was all too real, and he knew that he probably wouldn't be able to keep that promise.

Emily

Shocked, Emily just stood there. They all seemed like one big family, and now their family was broken. They all stood in silence, weather weeping, or just standing there. Emily hugged Chase, finally letting emotion get the better of her, and started sobbing into his snowsuit. Then, she lifted her head up as she realised a crucial fact that they had seemed to miss.

Where was Liz?

Suddenly, they all heard a cackling. They turned around to see Liz standing there with a handgun.

"I thought that I should end this cozy get together," She smiled toothily. Liz advanced toward them, gun raised to head height. Her eyes looked dazed and her hair was everywhere. She was seriously mental.

She started shooting.

"How did she get in here?" I asked. I pulled off my homburg. It flattened into a shield. I blocked the bullets as they rained down on us. My bracelets became ninja stars. I was overly prepared but what could you do. My overcoat was bullet proof and I threw it over to Emily and Chase. I threw a ninja star at liz and it hit her in the leg. She crumpled down. I kicked her hard and she was out cold.

Chase

Everyone had to duck and cover, but Emily and Chase had no where to go. Melpomene suddenly went into attack mode and sent her hat flying over to them. Weirdly, the hat turned into a shield and protected them from Liz's shots.

"Are you okay," Chase asked, yelling. The sound of the gun was loud.
"Yeah, I'm fine!" Emily yelled back. Suddenly, the shots died.

Emily

Trembling, Emily slowly stood up. Liz was lying on the floor about 20 feet away from the group. Scanning them, she saw that nobody was hurt.

"She's out cold," Melpomene stated. "We'll have to move quickly. She has probably alerted her group to where we are. We will have to go to the north pole and stay there," she looked at them with glistening eyes. This was proving to be more challenging than she thought.

Shocked, the group packed their few belongings and headed into the unknown.
