Brahn, 18, Night Lands

Brahn panicked. Frost had seemed so terrified when she saw the blood on Cody's back, and now she had run off. The need to protect her was over-riding his common sense. Turning from the group, he said; "Like Frost said, the gave is 5 miles from here, the wolf will lead you" Just as soon as he had began to run, Shinar grabbed his pant leg and sent him flying into a tree.

That's not wise, boy. Brahn felt a new consciousness occupying his mind, Shinar had broken his defenses.

"Get out of my head!" He yelled, trying to regain his balance.

You aren't the only one who loves her, Brahn. I have known her for most of her life, and if I do not chase after her like a mother and a cub, you should do well to follow my lead. Besides, it isn't like there's something worth hiding in your mind. Shinar replied, licking one of his front paws.

"Only something no one should ever have to know, now get out of my head." Brahn looked around, Cody and Wesley were standing right next to each other, both giving him the 'are you crazy?!' look. "The wolf," He said, pointing. "It tal- oh whatever. Go find your friends, I'm going to wait here for Frost."
Anti-Peta.

Erin Anderson - 13 - Elvin/Werewolf - Night Lands

I stared at Max then at the shadow, What is this thing playing at?, I asked myself and changed into my wolf form, baring my teeth into a snarl and getting ready incase I needed to attack soon.

"Wesley, Cody!" I barked loudly, hearing the howl echo throughout the forest. Max was in attack mode just like me, but he was an idiot... could he really fight?

"The two of you think you can take me?" the shadow said and laughed.

Wesley - 17 - Elvin - Night Lands

Cody and I were running to find Erin and Max, leaving to place were Brahn had stayed to wait for Frost.

"How are we going to find them? It's been well over fifteen minutes and they could be anywhere by now... I shouldn't have left Erin... What was I thinking?" I continued to talk to myself as we ran and I just hoped Cody was ignoring what I said.

"Wesley, Cody!" I heard the familiar howl and we rn straight for the noise...

~Frost~

Frost summoned a small pack of wolves to hunt for the group once she was done with her.. er... business. She was literally glowing, but it was getting dimmer by the minute. "Bring what ever you kill to the cave near here," she commanded them before sending them off. A cold wind blasted past her, bringing with it the scent of cat. Frost washed the blood from her face in a nearby stream, scrubbing her skin raw. Her eyes watered as strands of hair whipped at her eyes. She shuddered as the cat scent blasted her again, the scars on her back searing hot. She shook her head angrily and slowly walked back to the group, only to discover Brahn and Shinar. She scratched Shinar behind the ears as she sat down next to him, hugging him tightly and absorbing his warmth.

"Did you eat well?" He smiled wolfishly. Frost nodded and snuggled closer to him, the taste of blood still in her mouth.

"I sent out the smaller pack to gather up a few things for tonight, considering the fact that three just went up to six. I'm sure that the number will increase soon." She didn't speak quietly at all, and winced at how loud she was speaking.

Whisper let out a sigh as she eased into the spring. It was daytime, she knew it was. It was so dark. No sign of even a sky. It was like she was trapped in a huge bowl.
Whisper had been in the spring for thirty minutes and she heard leaves rustle. Whisper began to rise. She reached for her clothes and a boy fell from the forest line. Whisper gasped and fell back into the black water. River dove into the dark wet spring. It was deeper than the ocean. He had a grip on something and yanked and pulled it back up to the surface. He regained his balance on the shallow bottom of the enclosed bowl of water.
He reached his hands around her legs and layed her on the grass. River hadn't noticed her nakedness until then. He quickly took off his jacket and shirt to cover her up in case someone had heard the noise. Whisper wasn't breathing. When he was about to lay his lips upon hers to give her breath again, he heard a growl then a roar. Before River could go any further he was thrown to the side and a panther was in front of him.
Darkness touched his nose to Whispers lips and Whisper gasped for air. She was still weak so Darkness ran to get Whispers clothes to help her in them. Sunny emerged from the forest line.
He was beside Whisper in no time with her head resting on his knee. River crawled out from the dark of the trees.
"How did this happen?" Sunny asked with a tint of anger in his voice. Whispers eyes were fully open now and she quickly spoke up before River.
"I jumped in the water and...and River came and dove after me. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be here." Whisper looked at River and he only looked at her with affection in his eyes. Darkness was behind Whisper with her clothes. She noticed that she was naked. She looked down, but Rivers jacket and shirt was covering her. River had been staring at the ground while she stared at his bare chest. She seemed to disappear and was dressed in five minutes. She threw Rivers jacket and shirt across his legs.
"Thanks. If it wasn't for....you, I wouldn't be here." Whisper said, refusing to look at River.
"All I did was pull you from the water. The real hero is Darkness." River mumbled. Sunny had came back with wood and rocks.
"We need to start a fire. The night games have started and we shouldn't be traveling in the forest now", Sunny said. Darkness was again rubbing on River.

Brahn, 18, Night Lands

Brahn quickly stood up while Frost explained her leave to Shinar, walking slightly into the bush, rubbing the bump on his head from where it had hit the tree. To his dismay, there was a little blood on his hand. Stupid wolf...stupid tree...gah, stupid everything. He turned around and watched as Frost hugged and scratched Shinar. "We should head back to the cave, I told Wesley and Cody how to get there." Brahn ignored the urge to rush up to Frost and hug her as she stood up, thankful she was okay and alive, instead he just turned around and began to walk to the cave.

Frost ~ 16 ~ Were/Vamp ~ Night Lands

Frost rubbed her arms slightly, trying to warm up as her teeth chattered. She glanced upwards at the sky, suddenly realizing for the first time that it was night. She bore her teeth at the moon angrily before walking into the cave and automatically restarting the fire. In about two minutes the fire was small, but still gave off enough warmth. Right as she went to call her wolves Shinar gripped her pant leg in his strong jaws, stopping her. She sighed and sat down next to the fire, allowing Shinar to go call the wolves back.

Fifteen minutes later and there was still no sign of Shinar, Wesley, Cody, or the others. Frost looked out of the cave worridly, glancing back at the fire, then up at Brahn. His eyes were locked on the fire, which illumanated his face perfectly, casting just the right shadows here and there. Frost sighed into the silence and turned her head back to the cave's mouth, watching and waiting.

I stood frozen, this shadow was the biggest one I'd seen in my entire life.

"You can't kill us you know, Night Keeper wouldn't be pleased of you breaking his rules..." Erin said in her soft voice and I wanted to run and grab her in my arms and run away, but she was in her wolf form so I didn't know how well that would work out.

"Shut your snout, filth" said the shadow and he stepped towards her and that was when I took a stpe forward, ready to defend Erin but Cody stopped me.

"Let me go!" I shouted, but Cody wouldn't move his arms and I knew that I wouldn't have taken another step anyway. I started to cry and I could hear the shadow laughing infront of me.

Brahn, 18, Night Lands

"Get to the back of the cave, keep yourself hidden." Brahn said to Frost, grabbing his blades from their sheaths and walking out of the cave. "I'm going to go find Wesley and the others. Stay hidden until Shinar returns, and do not try to follow me, even with Shinar." Brahn felt Frost grab his shoulder, and he turned to find her face right in front of his.

"Brahn, I-" Frost started to say, staring into Brahn's eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine." He said, wanting to just lock his lips with hers, feeling her want to do the same. He sighed and took off, heading deep into the forest.

"Let me go!" Brahn dropped to the ground. He knew Wesley's voice well. Peering over the bushes, he spotted both her and Cody, along with some girl he didn't know and Max. In front of them he saw a shadow, poised to kill. He looked up. From where the moon was situated, he could tell it was only two minutes to midnight. If he didn't make a move now, that shadow would kill all 4 of them. Brahn crawled forward quietly, stopping only when he was behind the shadow and in the perfect place to jump and attack. As soon as two minutes had passed, the shadow lifted his blade, revealing a weak spot where his metal chest piece lifted from his legs. Lunging, Brahn tried to drive his blades through the shadows body but failed, and was instead knocked on his side. Standing up, the shadow lunged at him, but Brahn swerved, leaving the shadow to only dig his blade into Brahn's leg. Wincing, Brahn took the hilt of his blade and slammed it on the shadows helmet as he stumbled, knocking him out.

"Brahn!" Wesley cried, trembling as Cody held her. "You'll be murdered!" Brahn shook his head.

"No, I won't be. It's now midnight, get ready for the blood-bath to truly begin. Now, we need to rush back to the cave. s Besides, he's only unconscious, and we need to get as far away as possible." All for of them nodded then followed Brahn at a quick pace back to the cave.

Frost's face turned pale when she saw Brahn walk into the cave, covered in blood and bleeding from a wound on the leg where the shadow had slashed him.

"I'm fine." He said, plopping down by the fire, tearing strips from the extra fabric on his shirt.

**I don't think the shadow was anyone character*

Frost ~ 16 ~ Were/Vamp ~ Night Lands

About ten seconds after everyone came in Shinar shot into the cave, two wolves carrying a large buck behind him. The two that were carrying the hoofed mammal collapsed almost at the same time, revealing large claw marks all over their bodies. Frost quickly summoned her weapons, laying them aside, then summoning medical supply. She sent the wolves away, knowing that they'd be fine once they returned to their spirit forest. "Are you hurt anywhere Shinar?" She asked desperately, crawling over to him.

"Yeah, right between the," he took in a deep breath, "shoulders. Some huge monster jumped out and attacked us all right at midnight. We'd caught alot of food, but the thing dragged it all away," he collapsed onto the ground slowly, revealing a nasty cut. Frost winced as her back and eye heated up, but still crawled over to Shinar, quickly treating his wounds. Once he was finished she crawled over to Brahn, unwrapping the tight fabric wrap he'd used. She treated the area before laying a strip of gauze onto the cut and wrapping linen around it loosely, but just tight enough to where it wouldn't cut off circulation. She smiled worridly up at Brahn before glancing over at the others. "

"Anyone else injured?" She questioned, holding her supplies up in the air, "I'll gladly treat it."

*It was Anzuis's character*

Wesley

I sat down on cold, rocky floor of the cave and Erin soon curled up beside me, her warm, wolf fur helping me stay from freezing. Cody and Max were on the other side of the cave and I'd join the two of them, but being beside Cody right now seemed to awkward because of what I'd done. Shouldn't have kissed him, shouldn't have kissed him..., I kept repeating in my mind over and over again.

Erin was fast asleep after just moments of us laying on cave floor, her breathing had slowled and she was now snoring slightly which made me giggle a bit and that made Cody turn around and stare right at me but I shrunk back and he turned around quickly.

Why me... Why me..., I thought and started crying again...

Brahn, 18, Night Lands, In A Cave

"Hey Wesley, quit it with the water works, this is no time for them." Brahn shifted his eyes as everyone in the cave shot him icy glares. He shrugged it off, looking over at Frost, who sat next to Shinar, stroking his fur. How will I ever get the wolf to approve.. He asked himself, maneuvering his body so that he was lying down. As soon as his head hit the cold, stone floor, loud screeches could be heard outside all over the forest. "Douse the fire!" He whispered, jumping up. "The shadows are looking for us, the first game is about to begin.'
