The Night Games

Cody

I looked down at her, I wanted to know her thoughts and it drove me crazy that I wouldn't know unless she wrote it out in blood or spilled her guts. Which in my opinion doesn't sound good either way.

"Your not afraid of me." I said, narrowing my eyes turning them from aqua to icey blue, I let her see my fangs, and I let my skin turn paler. "You sure?"

She stood perfectly still and didn't cringe. This time it's her freezing hand that touched my cheek.

"I'm positive." She didn't let her voice shake, which made me like her a lot more as a human being. She stood on her tip toes her lips inches from mine, her hands on both sides of my face, she closed her eyes and her lips brushed against mine. I took her wrists gently and held her away from me. I couldn't kiss her, it would bring so much pain emotionally back to me, she was trying to climb a wall I had built to keep the world out.

"Lets look for that firewood..." I said had her lead the way I was sure to stay several steps behind her.

Wesley - 17 - Elvin - Night Lands

I wrapped my arms around my self and walked forward, Clearly he doesn't want you like you want him..., I told myself and started to cry, but I didn't let Cody see. He'd pulled me away from him and was now acting like I hadn't just done what I did. You shouldn't have done that Wesley! I shouted at myself and now wanted to go crawl in a hole and die or kill myself with a toothbrush which sounded very stupid, but oh well. He didn't feel the same way about me that I felt for him, we'd know each other for the exact time of two hours... and in that time, I'd fallen in love with a complete stranger.

"I'm worried about Erin and Max" I said, not looking back at Cody...

Cody

"Max, is a smart kid he'll figure everything out." i assured her.

It was silent for what seemed like forever. "Wesley..." I started. "I... I'm sorry about the kiss it's just."

"Oh, no don't worry about it." She said shaking her head, but I knew she was hiding it.

"It's just...." I started again.

"Drop it, Cody." She whispered. She walked ten steps ahead of me and then I heard it, sounds of feet, they were headed directly towards Wesley...

"Wesley get down!" I shouted it even as I jumped on her sending her plowing into the snow with me covering her....

Wesley - 17 - Elvin - Night Lands

"Wesley get down!" Cody had shouted and jumped on my, sending me face first into the snow and that was when I heard them, footsteps were surrounding us and I was scared, scared for Cody, Erin and Max but not for myself.

"Don't go into survival mode just yet children" went the voice of a female shadow and something in my head clicked, this was Addison, Zachariah's little sister. "Even we have to obeyed by big brother's rules, we've just come with a message" she laughed, sending chills through my body and Cody's to.

"A message... What kind of a message?" Cody growled and I felt his body tighten in frustration.

"One from Night Keeper of course because the only other reason we would have come out here would be to kill you, which we aren't able to do yet" she said and frowned. The other three shdows behind her started to smile and laugh evily to, making me feel as if my blood was freezing inside of me.

"What does he want?" Cody asked her, his teeth bared into a snarl.

"Just to say that he thinks this little crush thing the two of have going on is interesting him and he hopes that game coming up soon will... not effect your relationship to horribly" she laughed and with that, all of the shadows disapeared.

"What is that supposed to mean! You freaks come back, what in god's name did you mean!" Cody screamed, standing up but still standing infront of me like a protective shield.

"Cody... I think you should be quiet" I said in a whisper and looked at him with scared eyes at seeing the shadows, at seeing Addison at all.

"I just want to know what she ment..." he said...

Cody

"Do you happen to know something I don't?" I asked narrowing my eyes are her.

"Now wait a minute, of course not!" She jumped underneath me.

I felt like a sort of knife pressed against my back like a long fingernail, all of a sudden I heard something rip, I knew it was my shirt I felt my skin rip along with it, I bit my lip and pressed Wesley's face into my chest.

"Saty down! stay down!" I shouted.

Brahn, 18, Night Lands

"Yeah, sure." He replied, keeping on eye on the black wolf as he turned around and followed Frost out of the cave. She's gorgeous... He thought to himself, watching as Frost's body swayed while she walked. Brahn followed Frost in awe, switching his gaze from her only when they had found a grove of trees with branches all over the ground. One by one they each began to pick up wood, trying to get enough to keep the fire burning all night, when a loud, piercing scream sounded. The area suddenly became encased in darkness, and Brahn searched around for the cause. Just ahead of them, he spotted Wesley, and the boy who had went by Cody, being tormented by two shadows. As soon as he saw the shadows, Brahn lunged for Frost, knocking her over and landing on top of her, holding her down. "Shadows." He whispered in her ear. Listening intently, he heard something about a crush and an interesting game, but nothing else was discernible. Rolling off of Frost as soon as the area lightened again, Brahn found himself lying tightly against her body, their faces practically touching, staring into her beautiful eyes. For a moment he was locked in that position, moving his head slowly closer to hers. What am I doing?...

Wesley - 17 - Elvin - Night Lands

"Cody, whats going on?!" I screamed, hearing something rip. I was really scared now, something was happening and I didn't know what.

"Just stay down!" Cody shouted at me and I obeyed. Oh god... Erin and Max..., I thought to myself and started to cry hysterically.

Cody

My back felt like it was getting torn to pieces, oopsie I forgot IT WAS!!! Wesley cried and it made me depressed, I had never once held a crying women before, nevertheless someone I cared about. Finally the blades stopped as I felt cold seep through my back, I helped Wesley up and pulled off my shirt, feeling blood drip down my back, I hoped to God that Wesley wouldn't ask a single question about my angel wings or the heart tattoos on my chest. I put both hands on my head and turned around to look at the ground, I felt a feathery touch on my back.

"These are so beautiful." Wesley remarked touching the wings dispite the blood...

Max:

"You haven't killed anyone before?" I sad "Well join the club." we walked a bit further "I think we need some food."

Erin nodded. we walked a bit further when an eye came flying from behind a tree.

"What the-." I cried out. Soon after the eye came a Shadow from behind the tree.

"Hello, children." It said
Oh bugger, I thought.

Gorg looked at the two people smiling under his helmet. This would be a nice fight.

"I didn't know the games started yet." Max said

"They didn't." Gorg laughed.

Azrael


A lot had happened, but Alex hadn't come back out. Azrael was beggining to fret. Time had passed and he was worried.

He caught himself on that, Worried about a person I don't even know? Oh Gods, some shadow I am.

He sighed and sat back down in the shadows. The door was still unlocked, anyone could come out.

But he was hoping it was someone who had a reason, preferably Alex. He licked his teeth and stretched. It looked as though no one was going to come through anyway, he might as well get comfortable.

He lied down on his side, his left arm propping his head up and his shirt slightly fell, showing a bit of his taunt stomach.

His eyes drooped, a wave of tiredness swept over him, he hadn't slept for a while. Ever since they had begun to gather the new ones for the Games.

His thoughts difted and his eyes shut slowly. He fell asleep in the shadows, waiting for someone to come.

The doors handle tilted and it cracked open a smidgeon. Some one had opened it from the inside.

Frost ~ 16 ~ Were/Vamp ~ Night Lands

Right before their lips touched Shinar's vicious snarl sounded from the bush he had tried to hide in, making Frost lunge away from Brahn. Her face was on fire as she gathered the wood back up, her gaze never once leaving the snow covered ground. Shinar continued to growl as he crept out of the bush and sat down, his piercing glare stuck on Brahn. Frost listened as Brahn shuffled around, standing up and helping her gather the rest of the firewood. Once they were done Frost stood straight, finalling looking over a Brahn. "Do you think Wesley and Cody would want to camp out with us? I mean it'd probably be safer that way."

Brahn, 18, Night Lands

Brahn rolled over as Frost jumped away from him, is face going completely red as the black wolf, Shinar, came out of the bush snarling. He quickly got up and picked up the remaining fire wood, keeping a steady eye on Shinar. Stupid wolf.. He thought to himself, straightening his spine.

"Do you think Wesley and Cody would want to camp out with us? I mean it'd probably be safer that way." Frost asked, looking up at Brahn. He shrugged.

"It's up to them if they want to, but we should try to get them to come with us. We need to try to beat these games with as little casualties as possible, the only way out is to out game the gamer. But, Frost, are you okay? I..I kind of landed-" Shinar growled, moving slightly closer to Brahn.

"I'm fine." She replied, heading through the bush to where Wesley and Cody stood.

Cody shook in obvious pain, large red wings protruding from his back, hearts tattooed onto his chest. Brahn raised an eyebrow.

"You two should come camp with us, we won't kill you. But we need to find your other buddy first, Cody, we need all we can get. We've found a cave that we're hiding in. So what do you say?" He asked, once again mesmerized by Frost's beauty.

Cody

I looked at them suspiously.

"I don't really have much of a choice do I?" I growled.

They shook their head's.

"Let's find Erin and Max." I said pulling my shirt back on...

Frost ~ 16 ~ Were/Vamp ~ Night Lands

Frost's stomach dropped at the sight of blood, her face going pale as her eyes, even her blind one, shifted from their normal colour to red and back again. She covered her mouth and nose, closing her shifting eyes and backing away from the group. "The cave's about ten minutes from this spot. Five if you run." She suddenly realized why this was happening. One, she was part vampire, and two she hadn't fed last full moon, weakening her greatly. That's why she couldn't fight back when the shadows captured her! Frost pivoted quickly and ran off through the foliage, her senses fully open now. Both eyes changed to a crimson colour, her blind one a little paler than the other. Shinar knew better to follow her when she was hungry. Hopefully the others would take that as a sign not to follow as well.

Frost said a quick prayer before locking her eyes on a large buck with throbbing veins.

There it is. Its white, fluffy tail, soon to be in my red, pulsing stomach, Darkness thought. He felt Whispers eyes burning a hole through his back. Darkness jerked around and placed his eyes upon Whisper's excruciating stare.
"Go ahead. Don't you dare bring it, or murder it, anywhere near here", Whisper told Darkness. She looked over at Sunny. His eyes were closed lightly and the brim of his right eyelid was wet with tears.
Crying in his sleep again. I wonder if its still about that girl that he always dreams about Whisper thought. She felt the crisp dewy grass beneath her.
Grass?. As she thought this she had jerked around and realized they were in the darkest of the forest. The Night Games. They have began. Whisper looked around her for other players. Sure enough there were many others on the ground still asleep. There was one other up just entering from the outline of the forest line. Whisper stuffed her nose in the air. She quickly took it back down.
She just fed. Ugh. She smells worse than she did last time. After thinking this, Whisper put her nose between her arm and torso(armpit for those of you who don't know) and made a gagging sound.
I smell worse than she does. Hmm....I wonder if we will have a bath time. Unless..... Whisper's thought trailed off as she set off to find a hot spring.
