Laney:

Laney looked at him surprised, "I guess if you want to come, I know that's where me and Velna are headed." She took a deep breath. "SO what happened to, 'Get away from me, child!'"

Velna:

Velna couldn't sleep wiht all the talking so she slowly climbed up Laney's jacket, not strong enough to fly yet. Laney lifted her up and let her hold onto a strand of her hair.

I looked down at the ground and clinched my fists. "You remind me of someone that was really close to me..." I sighed, then smirked. "Don't get me wrong, your still a child, and it's not exactly best luck to be around me, but I figure I might as well get to know you before I make judgments." I smirked at her.

I strode smoothly into the town, giving off my usual air of emotionlessness and danger. Those that passed too close to me watched me warily, shying away a little.

I looked at the different shops and faces, browsing through minds. A few were well-guarded, so that didn't help much. Other than that, there was no sign of the grey dragon.

Where are you? I wondered as I entered a pub and sat down in the back corner.

Laney:

"I'm NOT A CHILD!!!!!" She growled glaring at him. "And if you say that one more time I'll hurt you. I can't kill you, but I'll sure make you regret it."

I chuckled, but didn't say anything. It was too much fun teasing her. Her eyes would spark dangerously...and her hair fell just so catching the light...I shook my head and frowned. It was better I saw her as a child. Maybe she wasn't, but if I didn't think of her that way, I'd regret it.

Alesha:

I followed her into the pub and timidly sat down beside her. I had never been around a lot of drunk men before. I was kind of scared. I kept a protective hand on one of my arrows. It made me feel somewhat better.

"Here's a tip: act careless. Don't look around, don't make eye contact. And keep all weapons concealed," I whispered, gesturing to the arrow she had in her fingers.

She quickly obeyed. "Where's the dragon?"

"I don't know. I can't read anything..."

Zel-

"Why is it you want to see my father?" Lethero asked, his eyes narrowing in suspicion. It was easy to tell that he didn't trust me.

I picked at the bottom of my shirt. "My mother sent me. She fears of another war breaking out soon between humans and us mythical creatures. She wants to know what your father has to say about it."

Crossing his arms, Lethero asked, "And how would your mother know my father?"

"She fought with him nearly fifty years ago," I replied readily. "She helped your father bring peace between us and the humans."

"What was her name?"

I glanced around at the other people who were watching Lethero and I with interest. The brownie had finished her toadstool and sat on a fallen log, her eyes never leaving me. There was a girl with red wings standing behind Lethero, her eyes flickering back and forth from the both of us. Another winged man stood closer to the brownie, watching everything carefully, his expression unreadable. I rubbed the back of my neck.

"I think, back then, she was called Alje."

"Ajle!" Lethero shouted. "The dragon who helped my father?"

"Yes," Zel said. "She helped destroy the evil that threatened to start a genocide." He then looked away and stared into the distance. "And I'm afraid she detected another evil with the intentions to do the same. That is why I need to see your father, we need his help."

"But, he is too old to fight anything. After my mother passed away several years ago, he's had trouble doing anything."

"He'll at least know something to help."

"Well, we're not far from his house. Come on."

While we were sitting there, I noticed a rough-looking man in the corner. A giant ax leaned against the wall beside him, and his cape had tears. I entered his mind.

Sano...Lieutenant...disappeared after an uprising...

He looked up and at me. I nodded.

"What?" Alesha asked.

"Nothing. Just making friends with our ex-guard over there."

I returned to Sano's mind. Care to join us?

Ryder was confused as to what was going on, her mother told her little about the war, she barely even spoke of it. She didn't ask Lethero any questions, she shifted over to walk by Moonie and smiled down at her softly. She returned the smile, but probably out of courtesy. Ryder felt out of place with all these new strangers. Four new Mythical Creatures in not even an hour, she sensed that danger was coming up, and it was coming fast.

"er...Lethero?" Ryder said softly.

"What is it Ryder?"

"You guys are almost there, and my feet hurt, I'm gonna take off and I'll meet you at your dad's place ok?"

"Yeah sure." He grunted.

Ryder kicked off and spread her wings out, sprinkling more crimson feathers out over the forest. She soared forward, feeling the wind brush her face and in second she saw the village. A few children stared up at her but everyone else was used to her. She flew down and landed just at the border of the forest and the village. She shook excess feathers off and walked into the village, she knew it so well, she could walk through it blindfolded. Once she reached Lethero's home she knocked gently. The old wolf opened the door and looked at her, almost as if he were looking through her.

"Hello, Mr. Lethero, mind if I come in? Your son and a few others should be arriving soon." He only nodded at her and stepped aside for her to enter.
"After it happened I thought that I'd just try to live as normally as possible and bury it, but things like that don't stay buried. I didn't think it would, but it taints your whole life."

Lethero arrived at his father's house only ten minutes after Ryder. He was just about to knock on the door when it was opened. His father stood in the doorway with his black robes on, his white hair shown in the dying sunlight. "Where is this son of Ajle?" he asked weakly.

Zel stepped up and Lethero looked him over with an observant eye. A smile spread across Lethero's face. "You truly are the son of Ajle. Come inside everyone. I will put some tea on the fire."

Once everyone seated at a chair with tea in hand, Lethero asked, "What is it that Ajle wants, Zel?"

"Remember the Priest that you killed?" Zel asked. Lethero nodded his head. "Well, it seems he's back again, and he's stronger than last time. Human armies have already been mobilized against the Magical Creatures."

"So that means my family was killed by this Priest?" Moonie asked.

"It would seem so," Zel said sadly.

"Why did your mother send you after me?" the Lethero Senior asked. "She probably knows more than I do."

"She is currently incapable of going after the Priest."

"I see." Lethero rubbed his temple in deep thought. "Well, we'll need to mobilze our own force to conteract the human army." Lethero stood up and walked up to a cabinet. He opened it and revealed a black leather armor and a blade equel to his son's own. "You thought I would let you use the actual blade." Ryder sniggered from the corner. "This is the real blade: Bloodclaw."

"You don't mean you're picking up your blade again father," the younger Lethero said. "Let us handle it."

"No, I will fight. I do not wish to make something more of myself before the Gods take me." With his armor on and his weapon sheathed Lethero looked like he did fifty years ago. "We will fight this evil and win!"

Ryder grinned, she had never seen Lethero's father so alive.

"Oh...speaking of weapons, I forgot to stop by my house...I'll be right back."

"Ryder, I don't think that it's really safe now that we know about this." Lethero said.

"Don't worry, they can't be anywhere near us yet, I'll be fine."

"Yeah but..."

"I promise." She smiled and then walked out of the door. Her house was like at the other side of the village but they were over reacting, she'd be fine.

*kinds short but it's something =P*

Sano smiled a little at the gesture the young elf was making. He had seen a lot in his shorts years of services. He stood up and walked over to the table, the axe over his shoulder. "It's impolite to read someone else's mind you know."

"Don't worry, I didn't read anything too personal," She snickered.

"Sano's eyes narrowed, "I don't find that funny. There are many things I'd rather no one knew, it won't be so easy to dig in my mind again."

"We'll see when the time comes. Please sit."

"Alright, you obviously wanted to talk. How can I help?"
I will always fight back, no matter what.
