Bullies you're either one our get bullied by one

I was bullied once -- it sucked. However, I was quickly taken out of school, homeschooled, and now I am not bullied anymore. Yay! Anyway, I go to a community college where everyone respects me. They talk of high school in bad terms (almost every college student calls it "the drama") so I believe bullying lessens once you get out of school.

But it can still continue at work. I dunno...

The farthest I have ever seen any kind of teasing or bullying go in the high schools i've been in is a amused look or a small snicker to a kid who dresses strangely or doesn't shower often. Yeah there are many fights in high school, but it's all between girls of the same label, and guys of the same label. You won't see a cheerleader fighting a skater punk, you won't see a jock fighting an honor roll student, you won't see a nerd fighting a goth kid. It just doesn't happen

Only those have been bullied for a while know how a person who has been bullied feels. If you haven't then shut up, you will never understand...

I am disgusted with people who call me a wus for caring when people do that stuff to me (I shower often, and I dress fine, but I'm QUIET and for some reason people find that funny). That makes me feel even worse. Nai, that post hurt me, because you act like I shouldn't care.

You obbviously haven't seen the worse stuff, I don't usually get it too bad, but I've seen fights between bullies and victims. I've seen the blood spots that stain the pavement outside my classroom. I remember the lesson an ambulance had to be called. And I go to the GOOD school in town. I am a little person at my school, I know other little people, and I'm telling you right now that the bigger people don't know half of it. Bigger people sometimes don't even know when they say something hurtful.

Most fights at my school that I know of are between the guy the nerds won't even include or the guy who only just got unoffically accepted into the nerds (probably for a verbal punching bag, nerds can be creul too you know. I used to be one, but I bailed out because it's like a pirahna feeding freanzy there *shudder*) and a popular, or moderately popular person. Inter-group fights do happen.

Personally, I've been bullied, mostly verbally (people tend to throw balls at me a lot though) with people ... um ... saying things to let others know they are above you and can either make you do what they want, or that you wont fight back. I go quiet when people bully me, but I go fiery when people have a go at my friends. Once, I nearly obliterated my friendship with one of my only two frineds when I backe dup my other friend (rather extremely ...) against his other friend. Another time I stood up to one of my own bullies (screamed at him to shut up, then when he demanded an apology in front of everyone I told him he deserved it so I wouldn't apologise)when he started on one of my friends (victory!). That guy hasn't bothered me much since.
Actually it's been alot better recently, for which I'm gratefull.

I know people who get it bad (get into fights, completely ignored, put down at every possible oppertunity with no one to back them up, no frieds, publicly humiliated etc), so don't tell me that stuff doesn't happen at high school.

The bullying does not lessen, people just do it in more subtle ways.
All I can say is, don't sit around letting them do it, ignoring it DOESN'T help. Fight back, phyiscally if necessary.

Yeah, don't go out of your way to start fights, but don't let people walk over you ... of course if that doesn't work and they just laugh more or whatever, I'm really out of ideas. Except maybe a shock, because I yelled when they thought I was timid and quiet and they just backed right off. I still get the occasional jab, but in general it's much better.

People say I'm a lesbian at college just laugh it off it annoys them. I was making jokes about it the other day and my friend went "Why are you laughing! You should be pissed off!" But if you do that you're just giving them what they want, laugh it off and make jokes eventually they'll shut up.

I got bullied at school which is why I know basically have a phobia of people, but it eventually stops and sooner or later those people get their comeuppance. Although the people who bullied me I feel sorry for because some of the things that happened to them were just pretty bad.

I'm very sad to say that when I was younger I would bully little kids younger than me around. Not like threats or stealing their lunch money, it's just that they would do stuff to get on my nevers so I would say stuff to them...I'm not very proud of it. As for being bullied, I'm often made fun of but in a good way. Like people think I'm funny and say I shave my back (long story ) It's all good though.

Everything was clear until the part where you came along and started preaching like bullying is some kind of morality. And telling him his unavoidable fate is to be bullied for the rest of his life.. even as an adult.

Aid, in any form, is really just a reciprocative process anyway. There's nothing really "altruistic," so saying someone is doing something for themselves is like...duh.

Anyway, I'm not bullied, nor do I particularly bully people.
