*I changed it sorry I had a lot going through my mind^_^*

"Great. Thanks." she said. She gave him a light kiss and headed for the door.

Nash walked down the door bangng on doors for all to get up.

I inhaled and caught her arm. Without thinking or warning, I brought her back to me, held her to me in a warm embrace, and stared at her.

What am I doing?

I have no clue.

Nor do I care.

I smiled as I leaned closer to her. "You're not leaving without my thank-you gift."

I kissed her.

Sean went bright red.

"Um..thank you?" she said. She hadn't really ever been kissed. She wasn't sure what to say...

I smirked mischeviously and pat her on the arm.

"You're welcome," I said, playfully pushing her towards the door. "Get to your post, then, before Nash has a heartattack."

Sean walkedmore forced to the deck. She climbed into the crows nest and threw the wet, heavy cloth and pillow down over the nest.

It came down on some one. OF!

She looked down over the edge. "Sorry!" she called.

"Your not forgiven." Nash called as he pulled the wet thing off of him.

*Laugh all you people laugh!*^-^

I clambered on deck behind her, acting like I normally would. Careless, carefree, dangeorus, and unwelcoming. When Sean tossed Cate's old belongings over, I wanted to laugh loudly at the sight of Nash being the unintentional target. Instead, I merely snorted and sauntered off.

As I passed by some of the other crewmen, I heard them whispering. Instinct told me not to bother, but I heard Sean's name.

"She's a much better catch than Cate was!"

"Aye! And a better watchman."

"I bet she's good elsewhere."

"Why don't you try her, then? And tell us about it?"

I tensed at that. Elsewhere...I knew what they were getting at. I went rigid in protectiveness. "She's not available."

They turned to me, confused. "What?"

"She is not available. Leave her alone."

Nash finally scuffled his way out from under the mess.

Sean leaned back on the pole. She saw a bright day ahead of her and er favorite thing was to look at the sun.

She desided to try drawling it. She clamered down to the deck and headed down below.

I waited until Sean was down below before continuing. Nash was paying close attention, as well...

"She is not to be touched or pursued," I started with my voice dangerously soft, "unless she says otherwise. Understood?"

"What're you so worked up 'bout, mate? We're just talkin'!"

"Thoughts lead to words, and words lead to actions. Stay away from her, or else."

Nash walked over. Could he sense my burning desire to strike? My protectiveness? My territorialness?

"It's an order now boys." Nash said with his arms crossed.

"Yes sir." they said bowing there heads.

Sean came back on deck and climded as best she could with one hand to the crow's nest.

On her last step of rope her hand missed the grip entierly and she fell bace wards. She giggled as the rope caught her foot.

It was funny but also hurt at the same time.

I sighed, but I was still annoyed. I was grateful to Nash, but it would have been better if I had dealt with them myself...

Damn you, Nash! Always in the way!

That's when I heard Sean's startled gasp and giggling. Looking up, I saw that she was caught in the ropes, hanging upside down. I chuckled, shaking my head as I moved to the halyard and began climbing up after her.

"Silly girl," I mumbled.

"Yes, I am quite silly." she giggled out to him as he bushed her back up.

Her foot came loss before she was up an they bother were in the fix of a slow motion as they started falling.

Sean grabbed on to the closest rope and grabbed, more scrambled for Jake's arm.

Her hand burned as the weight caught up with her. Her arm pulled. It wasn't good for her.

**Huh? We just fell?? Okay, then...**

Jake

I didn't leave my weight on her for long. I reached out and caught another halyard and held onto it, freeing her of my weight. We just hung there for a moment, staring at each other, and then we started to laugh.

Why? I had no clue.

"That was funny, especially your face!" I laughed as I recalled the alarmed expression she'd had.

"You should have seen yourself!" I leaned against the pole as well, absently taking her hand in mine.

"You never knew that a stupid accident can get you laughing. Especially when you are in danger." Sean mused.

She noticed her hand was in his. She looked down and then up at his face.
