Sam

I jumped in quickly, before Jaden exploded on the kids.

"Listen, we've got more pressing matters other than proving to you where you are. Face it, you're not in school anymore, so you might as well get over it and trust us, because we're your ticket back whether you like it or not. Now, we need to get somewhere safer before one of Sarnom's spies sees us."

Some of the kids just stared with blank, confused looks on their faces. Others were swearing quietly and glaring at Jaden and I. And still some were shaking their heads and still arguing.

"Why should we trust you? You kidnapped us."

Jaden rolled her eyes and sighed heavily.

"You're coming with us whether you want to or not. So you might as well come nicely, because Jaden and I aren't afraid of using force," I said, losing patience.

Caleb:

Caleb stood in front of them his arms crossed. Dusty walked next to him his arm's crossed. "Try, theres two fo you and more of us." He growled. "Listen, I kinda believe you, I mean we got here by a tornado, but we need a tad bit more proof you aren't hte bad guy here."

"Ya, how do we know y'all aren't the bad ones, that y'all are just gonna get us hurt?" Dusty demanded. If Caleb believed them then she did too, but she wasn't so sure about all this. "I mean, they said I was like some person of fire. I love fire, but I don't see how that does anything."

"Ya, what was that voice anyways?" Caleb demanded.

Jaden-

My hands went to the blade on my side at the challenge. It was just a dagger, but then I remembered that they’re just teenagers so I just withdrew my hand.

“The voice, we really don’t know what it is. We just think that it is your elemental power waking up inside you. You can now use your elements, but cannot control them. Some of your elements are the types you love. Dusty, you love fire. Erica likes to swim. But whether you like it or not, you have these powers and they are dangerous if you cannot control them. You need training, and you will just have to trust us that we are the good people.”

Silence.

“Listen, you are the last hope for this land, please just think about helping us. We don’t have time for arguments or the like. We need to leave now, so decide quickly.”

The pleading tone in my voice was real and I prayed to God that they would help. Each of them looked at another as if silently discussing it. Please help.

For a moment we quietly discussed our options, but the only sane choice was the one Sam and Jaden had given us.

"I guess we have is to go with them," Twili said.

The rest of nodded our heads in agreement.

"So you coming?" Jaden asked, sounding almost fearful that we were going to say no.

"You know," Erica said bitterly, "you'd catch more flies with honey."

"What do you mean?" said Sam, slightly confused.

"It means you just successfully blackmailed us," said Haven.

"So what are these magical powers you've been going on about?" Lillith demanded as Sam and Jaden led us to somewhere "safer." I walked next to Twili, finding some comfort in his presense.

"Should we just let 'em figure it out or should we tell them?" I heard Sam mutter to Jaden. She sighed, casting a quick look at Lillith.

"What did the voice tell you, Lillith?"

"Huh?"

"What did the voice tell you when you arrived?"

"Welcome to Eniyeth, Master of Beasts." she quoted, then realized what this meant. "Oh...so I can control animals; horses,wolves, birds, the male population."

"Hey!" Someone (a guy) cried.

“Alright, now we need to find you some new clothes,” I said.

“What’s wrong with our clothes now?” Lillith asked. I am learning the names. HAH!

“The problem is that they stick out like a foreigner. Walking into a town with modern Earth clothes on is like sending a beacon to Sarnom saying ‘Hey We Are Foreigners! Come And Kill Us!’”

“So what do we do?” Kaleb asked.

“You all stay here with Sam while I go and get some clothes from the town.”

I swore that I saw some happiness in their eyes when they heard that I was leaving for awhile.

“Hey, I will not where a skirt,” said Lillith.

“Alright, we’ll get you breeches.”

“What are breeches? I’m staying in my jeans. You can’t make me dress in some fancy skirt and poofy shirt.”

I rolled my eyes. She was going to be the difficult one. Perfect.

“Um… Miss Jaden?”

“Yes?”

“I’m not wearing blue.”

“What?” I saw it was Erica talking.

“I’m not wearing blue. I would rather where dark green.”

I sighed. “Alright, I will get a dark bluish-green. Agreed?”

“Okay.”

I turned and left the clearing. The town was only on the other side of the woods. Hopefully Sam could stand the task of watching the teens.

....................

Okay, it would be cool if everyone could find what their clothes will look like if this is okay with ThisIsHistory. That way Jaden knows what she is buying and will just let the elementals choose which clothes they want.

"Do you have something against blue?" Haven muttered and I shrugged.

"I just don't want to be forced to wear blue because I'm supposedly the water Elemental." I said, "Pluse, I look better in green. Curse of the Irish."

"Whatever." He rolled his eyes. Once again, I hid within my self, suddenly hating my own voice. (Jaden G.: teen angst! [she really did say this, as she is looking over my shoulder right now]) One of these days, like today, I was going to do something stupid and everyone would shun me. **I'll try to find Kneph's clothes once I get home. I'm sitting at school right now so most sites are blocked. >.<

Sam

I watched Jaden walk away before turning back to the group of powerful (and dangerous) teenagers standing in front of me. Most were eying me like I was some sort of chew-toy they just couldn't wait to play with. It wasn't the most reassuring sight in the world.

I rubbed my hands together and glanced around. "So...lets find somewhere that's not quite so out in the open. Come on, follow me, I think I know a place not far from here."

Some immediately followed, while others hung back and muttered quietly among themselves. I turned back to look at those who stayed behind.

"Feel free to stay there, but I won't be the one to save you when you're attacked by a nehmrid. From what I remember, they're particularly vicious around these parts," I called.

Next time I looked back, they were all following closely.

I found a large cave in the cliff wall near the ocean and led them inside. Gathering up a few pieces of driftwood from around the beach, I piled it up inside and lit a small fire to add a bit of light. Still not expecting Jaden back for a few hours, I decided now wouldn't be the best time to try to trigger the elemental powers lurking within each kid.

I bit my lip, more out of habit than anything else, and looked around again at the kids. One of the girls (I never had been very good with names) came to stand a few feet away.

"Yes?" I asked, praying that she wasn't there to accuse me again of kidnapping them.

Dusty:

"So, supposidly, I have the element of Fire." She said crossing her arms. "What can I do with it?" She asked pointing towards the fire and letting it's warmth creep up to her hands warming them. She waited for his answer.

"Let's wait until Jaden get's back until we explain it all. It will be easier if we can tell everyone about them." He replied. She frowned,

"What, you scared?" She demanded her temper flaring. "YOu've drug us who knows how many miles from home and expect us to believe your story. I'd like to see it played out, I'd like to see proof we can see and touch."

Caleb walked up behind her and set his hands on her shoulder. "Relax, Dusty, he's right. If we really have these powers then when they show us how to use them we might use them wrong and hurt someone. Maybe they'll be able to keep that from happening, but he can't help us all at once which means someone will get hurt. Just relax. She won't take that long I hope."

"I still want to know how they work though." She said crossing her arms and glaring at him.

EEP! I'm so sorry I've been gone so long. There's no excuse, really. (And the clothes thing is fine. I'll find mine soon. Let's post them in the Discussion thred though, ok?)

Haven
~~~~~
I glared at Sam, who was talking to Dusty. Kidnapper. Ok, ok, maybe not, but still!
Actually, I didn't mind this place, really, once I started looking at it. It reminded me of a fairy-tale, or an elvish....something.
I started to hum 'May it Be' under my breath. That was Allie's favorite song, but for some reason It didn't bother me as much here.
I turned to watch the fire. I smiled as the light flickered on the walls of the cave.
"Hi." I heard Erica say from behind me.
"Hi." I said, not turning around. She came up to stand beside me.
"So...this is really weird, huh?" she said, her voice shaking a bit. I had a sudden urge to hug her, to make sure she wasn't afraid. I didn't though. That really would have been weird.
"I don't know. I kinda...I kinda like it...I mean, I don't like the fact that the stalkers kidnapped us, or that there's an evil dude out for blood, but hey, if we didn't have to worry about all that, I think I could get used to it here."
Erica just looked at me.
"Why?" she said.
I shrugged. "It feels...familiar. Or safe...or something, I don't know. I don't have to think about stuff here." I said, blushing hard. Thank goodness she didn't ask what I meant by that.
~~~~

Sorry it's so pointless. But I felt like Haven wanted a say in things. And I had to get back into this thing b4 ya'll thought I was dead. Not that I even need to be in it anymore. Ya'll do so awesome w/out me...*sniff* my babies are growing up!

lol. hyper today.

Gregory-

The time went by slowly and quietly, besides an occasional comment here and there. But the tension was so high by the time that Jaden got back that all of jumped at the sound of her voice.

"Well, I've got them," Jaden said putting down a package.

"You put all of our clothes into that," I said, surprised by how small the package was.

In response she pulled out the package a smaller package and tossed it to me.

"Try those on for size," she said with a smile on her face.

--------------------------------------

I came out of the back of the cave a minute later dressed in the most interesting shirt and pants I had ever seen. They were both dark gray with a hint of blue and fit like a second skin, but the weird thing was that they were actually very comfortable.

Erica-

I tooka package from Jaden and disapeared into the cave, contemplating what Haven had said. This place did feel familiar, although she'd never seen it before. she felt safe. But she wanted to go home. Her little sister needed her, and especially her blood.

The outfit Jaden had given me was the most comfortable thing I'd ever worn. I was wearing dark green (with just the hint of blue and purple) with a matching top. The sleeves were a lighter greenish purple that were light and flowy.

I stuffed my jeans and T-shirt into the empty package and walked out with my hand grasping my elbow in a sign of insecurity. Jaden took the package quickly and smiled when I whispered a thank you.

Lillith-

"I told you I wouldn't wear a dress!" I yelled, storming out of my dressing cave to Jaden.

"You have pants underneath." She argued.

"I'm still wearing a dress. Do you want me to die?" I asked, looking down at my attire. So what, I was wearing pants under the white dress thing. I still hated the dress part.

I looked around and saw the red head wearing pants. I seethed in anger but didn't lose my temper...yet..."So she gets to wear pants? So much for fairness."

I sighed, any trace of the anger gone. This really wasn't me. I just couldn't let them know how scared I was. Twili looked at me, frowning. He knew. Crap.

"Sam told me you'd tell us how our powers worked when you got back," Dusty said to Jaden.

"Can that at least wait till tomorrow" Jaden asked looking thoroughly exhausted.

"It is kind-of getting late," I said, "and it has been a long day."

Dusty whirled about, "If you don't want to stay up to find out answers that's fine by me," she said fiercely. "But I'm not going to be kidnapped, get dragged up to this cave, put on these silly clothes and go to sleep without some big explanation."

Jaden sighed, "Okay, I'll try to answer your questions after supper."

Lillith-

I was about to voice my own opinions about waiting when my stomach growled. “Make it quick, then.” I growled, glaring at Jaden and trying to figure out how to sit down. I finally did and moved in closer to the fire, wondering if I could get this thing off before I burned to death if it ‘accidentally’ caught on fire.

Then our kidnappers started preparing food. We talked quietly amongst ourselves until they finished.

Let me tell you, the food was AMAZING. If they weren’t so caught up in kidnapping teenagers, they could make a fine career as chefs. I and Twili talked while we ate then looked at THEM expectantly when we finished. Turns out, they’re slow eaters. Or they’re stalling. That would make more sense.

Erica-

I sat between Gregory and Haven, making sure that my hands weren’t shaking as I ate just as slowly as Jaden and Sam. I swallowed and concentrated on humming the acoustic version of “Red Sam” as quietly as I could.

I swallowed and let the fire’s warmth calm me down. I studied the people before me, suddenly seeing a glimpse of my brother in Caleb’s eyes. Shaking my head, I allowed my thoughts to wander to Haven’s words. What was he trying to forget so badly?

It was then that I heard the rain falling outside. I calmly listened to it, closing my eyes and letting the endless beat of the drops caress my spirit. Then the lightening flashed. I cringed as the thunder came rolling after. Dad. He was fighting. The bombs would kill him!

I gasped and felt a hand brush my shoulder. Haven. My tremors slowed before I realized that they’d started.

“Thank you.” I whispered almost inaudibly. I was then going to ask him what he wanted to forget when Jaden cleared her throat.

Jaden-

I pushed my plate aside and looked at all of the elemental’s faces. Taking a deep breath before the plunge, I started to explain the whole bit about their powers.

“Okay, I will try to make this somewhat less complicated to understand. Elemental powers is a difficult topic and is hard to explain.”

“Stop stalling,” said Dusty.

“I’m not stalling, I am warning. Now, in each of you there is a source of energy that allows you to control the eight basic elements. Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Light, Darkness, Beast, and Spirit. Now inside of you stretches a channel from that source through to your limbs, mind, etc. This channel is always in constant flow of the energy, but is very fragile. An untrained elemental can discover their powers and decide to act too quickly, allowing the source to overflow and pop, making your channel explode and taking out the area within a five mile radius and yourself included.”

I saw some people flinch or turn white. Good, that meant that they were starting to understand the severity of the elemental source.

“Each element can be both wonderful and disastrous. The problem is, is that the longer you live with your powers, a pressure builds up in yourself and you just want to let the power come out. And that is dangerous to yourself and others. That is why tomorrow, no matter what, we will start our journey.”

“Journey to where?” Gregory asked.

“We will be heading to the old temple where you will receive your gifts so you won't feel the excesive pressure anymore…”

“Sweet, we get presents from our kidnappers!” Kaleb said.

“Isn’t that a bad thing?” asked Haven.

“Not those type of gifts. Gah! Sam, explain what the gifts are.”
