Haven
~~~~~
"What in the world?" I thought as the stalkers began to recite what sounded like a poem.
Then suddenly the wind began to whirl, rushing past my ears and making it nearly impossible to hear the shouts of the other kids, though I knew they were shouting from the way their mouths were moving. It picked me up off the ground, and I felt as though my body was being pulled and stretched as I tried desperately to cling to something.
Erica turned and looked at me. She was holding onto her chair as though it was her last life-line, and she looked like she was in awful pain.
"Don't fight it!" I heard above me, and I obeyed. I have no idea why; something in the voice reminded me of my dad, and I couldn't disobey it. I let go of the desk I had been holding to, but not before reaching out and grabbing Erica's hand. She held on tight, and looked straight into my eyes.
And then we fell.
I don't know what happened, but it was as though I had fallen asleep without closing my eyes.
The wind was gone, and I was laying on the ground. Erica's hand was no longer in mine. The only sound I heard was the sound of my own heart beating. I slowly moved my arms and opened my eyes, feeling like a newborn kitten.
And then from all around me, and deep inside me I heard:
"Welcome to Eniyeth, Master of Light."
The wind hurt so badly. My hand hurt as I grasped the chair. I looked at Haven, he was hanging onto the desk.
"Don't fight it!" Daddy? I let go and felt a hand grasp mine. I looked into Haven's eyes and grasped his hand tighter. I could deal with this pain now.
And we fell. Everything was black and I couldn't breathe. Haven wasn't there anymore eigther.
I found myself laying on the ground and I heard a voice from deep inside me:
"Welcome to Eniyeth Master of Water."
Dusty:
"Wh..." Dusty felt herself being pulled up. She tried to force her hands to grab the chair or something. She grabbed Kaleb's hand and he held onto it firmly.
"Don't fight it!" Someone yelled. To hell with that. She hissed in her brain. She wasn't about to be pulled into some tornado by from freaky teachers. The tornado increased and she glared at it her temper rising. Who did they think they were summinging some stupid tornado. How did they summon it. Her train of thought went off target and she felt herself being pulled up into it.
Blackness suronded her and she no longer felt Kaleb's hand in her own. A voice that seemed to come from inside of her spoke.
"Welcome to Eniyeth Master of Fire."
Kaleb:
Kaleb's jaw tensed, what were they talking about. He couldn't move though. He tried despretly to. He felt Dusty grab his hand and he held onto it. Whatever they were doing they weren't going to take his little sister away from him.
"Don't fight it!" Someone called. They had to be kidding right. He wasn't supposed to fight some tornado that was trying to suck the only family he had left away from him. What were they, crazy. He couldn't not fight it anymore and felt himself being pulled up. He clung to her hand tighter, they weren't going to get seperated. He would kill someone if they did.
Blackness surronded him for a second then he was laying on the ground. With no Dusty!
"Welcome to Eniyeth Master of Earth!" A voice said from in his head.
"I don't care where I am where is my sister!" He hissed after he managed to get some air into his lungs. He was ready to kill someone.
**no one has rejected my offer, (and May shouldn't be stuck with three people) so i'm gonna post as Lilith**
[Lillith]
"What the heck," I said, but my words were lost in the wind. It felt like it was tearing me apart. I bit my lip to stop the scream that was making it's way to my throat. Then I was falling. I was then suddenly on the ground.
"Welcome to Eniyeth, Master of Beasts."
"What the heck?" I repeated.
Twili-
“What the…” but I wasn’t allowed to finish my sentence. A sudden feeling of dread washed over me as all sound dissapeared. I tried to fight the pulling sensation when I heard a calm voice call out.
“Don’t fight it.”
Was that Lilith? I followed the directions and let myself be pulled. I landed with a thud somewhere that I didn’t know. No one was with me. Then a voice from inside me and all around me echoed in the blackness.
“Welcome to Enyieth Master of Darkness.”
Freaky.
..............
Jaden-
I watched from a distance as the elementals fell into the world. My grim smile was hidden under the cloth that covered half of my face. It felt good to be back in Enyieth. But now the difficult part was coming up.
Explaining all of this to teenager minds that can not grasp how important their roles are to this world. Oh goody.
..............
I know this was short, but hopefully this will help Maki enter the story. Also, have we agreed where we are landing? Beach or meadow?
**compromise, a beach at the edge of a meadow**
Erica-
I put my hand down to lift myself up and felt sand slip through my fingers. Since when is there sand in New York? I looked up and gasped at what I saw. It was big and blue and, hint hint, wasn't the sky. The ocean.
The waves rolled in and I couldn't resist taking off my shoes and running down to the waters edge. Water washed over my feet when it hit me. No cars, no smell of exaust. Panic filling me as I turned around and saw grass. Grass and sand in ever direction with a few scattered trees. I breathed in air freasher than that I'd ever breathed, even in my grandparents old town.
"What the heck." I whispered. It was then that I noticed the others. Most people were laying down but two stood and watched me. I took a step back, but thanks to my ingeniousness; there was an ocean there.
I heard one of the others, my classmate, get up.
Lillith-
"Where the heck are we?" I asked the red-haird girl. She gave me a confused look and I turned around to see Miss Greene and Mr. Sam, except they were...different...
"Eniyeth, but of course, we'll explain that once the rest of your peers aren't as shocked as they are now."
"Yeah, that'll help." I grumbled, shaking Twili awake. "Get up, sleepy head. We've been kidnapped."
"That's obsurd we'd-"
"Never take a bunch of students to a place they have no idea about against their will?"
"I...uh..."
"She got you there, Jaden." Mr. Sam whispered to Miss Greene.
"Shut up, Sam."
Kaleb:
Kaleb jumped up at the voices and looked around. "Where's Dusty?" He growled. Miss Greene pointed to a figure that was just barely sitting up a few feet away and he ran over to her. She blinked her eyes a few times and looked around.
"What's going on?" She demanded.
"I don't know, we're on some beach though." He sighed. "I think I agree with Lillith, they kidnapped us."
"Ya, and used their pet tornado to get us here." She frowned standing up. "How did y'all do that?" She demanded looking at the two teachers.
"Ya, what the hell is going on?" Kaleb demanded facing the teachers too.
"Wait until the others wake up." Mr. Sam replied.
Dusty:
"We better wake them up because I don't like not knowing what is going on." Dusty growled walking around to the other's and shaking their shoulders.
Erica-
I shook Haven and found out he wasn’t actually asleep, just a little dazed. As he started to stand, I shook Gregory awake and stood again.
For some reason, I longed for the comforting touch of Haven’s hand again. The way he’d automatically grabbed my hand was fresh in my memory. I closed my eyes and tried to rid myself of it, we’d just been kidnapped. There wasn’t any real way to put it. We’d been kidnapped by two psychopathic teachers. One who seemed to refuse to give us his last name and the other who stalked students. I wish David were here, I thought, sighing.
I once again looked at our ‘teachers.’ They were different; taller, dressed differently, more elfish. And I didn’t like their eyes, although Mr. Sam’s seemed to laugh at Lilith’s comments. Miss Greene’s eyes were kind off scary, calculating our every move. Two scabbards were on her hips. Very menacing. I closed my eyes again and listened to the breathing of everyone around me and found comfort only in the steady breathes of my new friends and the steady sound of the ocean.
Lilith-
I helped Twili up and continued to glare at the two kidnappers. Soon all of us were standing and looking at the two.
“Hello, how was your trip?” Mr. Sam asked after a moments hesitation. Miss Greene shot him a look. He shrugged and looked at us- actually expecting an answer.
“Oh, just fine. The part where we got sucked into a freaking tornado was my favorite part, although the being kidnapped part is a serious plus.”
Gregory-
When Erica woke me up I thought I was dreaming. I and several other people were out on a beach, and the sky and the sea were perfectly blue. It reminded me of a picture I had seen in a seaside resort magazine. It made me feel very calm, but it didn't seem to have the same effect on the others.
Everyone around me seemed to think that the teachers were responsible for this incident. Some were quietly glaring at them, while others were shouting questions at the teachers. Miss Greene and Mr. Sam sat there quietly, seeming to be content on waiting for everybody to cool off. I wasn't exactly sure that the teachers were responsible, even though it would make sense.
Jaden-
I stood there, quietly calculating the teenagers in front of me. Please tell me that I wasn’t like this so long ago.
Some shouted questions like “where are we?” and “why did you kidnap us?” It was annoying, but I needed to wait. Sam on the other hand tried to get a word in, which was only answered back in cruel sarcasm. Some of them were glaring at me and Sam while one just seemed calm and quiet. HE’s MY FAVORITE!
“What the heck is going on?” one of them shouted. Everyone was awake and gathered around us. I looked to Sam who nodded.
“A time ago, Enyieth lived in a peaceful era where the elementals watched over. The citizens of Enyieth got along, deciding, working and living at peace. Unfortunately it was not the same for the elementals. The last generation did not get along nor did they find peace amongst themselves. One of them saw this and used it against them. He became power hungry and built up an army, betraying them all.”
“Dude, is she monologging?” one asked. The other shrugged.
“Sam and I were given the task of keeping the Elemental Power safe. But after we were given each element, the old elemental was found and destroyed, sending their gifts to the top of the mountain of thunder where the old temple resides. We were afraid and so we sent the elemental powers to your world, where they have been passed down to you. You are the next generation of elementals and the ones who can stop Sarnom and bring back the peace and hope that has so long forsaken these lands.
…………..
There is my monolog. All be happy!
Lillith-
"Ha ha, very funny. Now really, where the heck are we?"
"Eniyeth." This teacher was dillusinal. First she makes up this unbelievible story, then she monolouges it.
"Cut the crap." I demanded, glaring at her.
"You really think Jaden has the immagination to make up something like this?" Sam (he kidnapped us, he is no longer a teacher.)
She glared at him and I suppressed a laugh.
"Guess this ruins our date." He grumbled, and I stood there open mouthed. She slapped him.
"Shut up."
I laughed and shook my head.
Erica-
I fought a smile, refusing to believe an ounce of their story. It couldn't be true. It just couldn't. There wasn't such things as Elementals, humans can't control nature anymore than the leaf can control the wind it blows on.
I was about to say, "this is crap," when I remembered how many people surrounded me. That shut me up. I couldn't say anything, I didn't know these people.
I want to go home. Kaya is gonna need another pint of blood soon and I need to be there.
Gregory-
"Can you prove it?" I asked Ms. Greene. There had to be some reason that the teachers thought that this place was called Eniyeth.
"Prove what?" the teachers said in unison.
"That this place is Eniyeth, and that we're Elementals."
The other students stared at me, not quite believing that I had just asked the question.
Jaden-
Great, they were going to have me prove it. Well, I could show them all of the maps in my bag, but they would think that we had made it all up. I turned to Lilith, probably the easiest elemental signature ever.
“Lilith, do you mind doing what you did at lunch today?”
“What?”
“At lunch today. The fiasco with the squirrels and chipmunks around your lunch? I would like you to take this PB&J sandwich and try to re-enact what happened at lunch today.”
Lilith looked over at Twili who shrugged, then took the sandwich which I had pulled out of my bag. She then went over and stood by the trees. Nothing happened at first and I started to worry.
“Well, that’s that,” said Gregory. No Longer My Favorite!
“Wait, look,” said Twili.
Lilith was surrounded by squirrels and chipmunks, telling each to behave and share like a mother would do to a child.
“So, does that prove it?” I asked.
"Why would that prove anything?" asked Dusty.
Ms. Greene blinked in confusion.
"When I was in DC there were animals everywhere that would eat straight out of your hand," Dusty explained. "So how would that," she gestured in the direction of Lilith, "confirm your story?"
"I agree," said Kneph.
