I wonder what Kai was rambling about, I thought, hours later. I still remembered hearing him swear that he had seen someone...
I had finished my packing before the sun had even gone down, and I was waiting, just watching the moon as it crept across the partly cloudy sky.
I sighed, remembering the fight Father and I had gotten into.
"You're not going anywhere!" he had said. "Not with that beast!"
"He's not a beast! And I can do as I please!"
"You're too young to be making such decisions - "
"I am more mature than you think I am! I don't need your guidance or protection!"
"I'll tell you now, if you walk out that door, you can stay gone - "
"And I don't need this hell hole you call a home!"
"So be it then!"
"I'm leaving in the morning, whether you like it or not!"
And it had continued for almost an hour before I finally won. I had no doubts I would regret it later, but, for now, I was happy that I would soon be free.
Forever.
"Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery." Timothy 4:14 KJV
Renian stood up next to Tyrant. Different voices rang around them but one sentence frightened her. "There's a half-demon over here!" Somebody shouted. A pang of fear ran up her spine.
"I've got to go," she whispered quickly, "be careful." She pivoted on her heel and began to run.
Tyrant ran after her. He saw a cave to his left so he grabbed her around the waist and dove down into it taking most of the fall on himself. "Be quiet." He whispered.
Renian stayed quiet, only long enough for the townsfolk to pass. A their footsteps faded she turned quickly to Tyrant, her eyes already ajusted to the darkness. "Are you alright?" She asked despretly, looking for any injuries on him.
Tyrant's back stung from fallin on a rock but he wasn't going to say anything. "I'm fine, are you? I should've warned you I'm sorry." He would never live it down if she had gotten hurt.
"No, I'm fine and it's not your fault." Renian told him as she continued to search for wounds. She felt his back, rubbing her hands over a soaked area. "Oh my god! You are hurt!" Renian lifted his shirt up and studied the wound. It was slightly deep but not unhealable. Renian ripped of a peice of cloth from around the bottom of her shirt and wrapped it tightly around his wound. "That should stop the bleeding until we get back to my...cabin." She stood up and helped Tyrant up. "C'mon." She grabbed his hand and slowly tugged him ot of the cave.
Tyrant winced when she touched the wound his back screaming in pain. He bit his lip trying to keep from showing it. She grabbed his hand pulling him out of the cave and towards her house. The fast movement and the lose of blood made his head get light and everything started going black.
Renian gasped as Tyrant weighed her down. He fell to the ground, the wound beginning to bleed again. "Danggit," she whispered, pulling him onto her back. She bit her lip as the extra weight made her knees bend slightly. She continued to carry his towards her cabin, despite the weight.
Once they got inside the cabin Renian layed him down on his stomach, just enough light was given off so she could close the wound. Renian stood back up and grabbed some needle and thread. Striker jumped on her shoulder as she did so. She quickly sat back down next to Tyrant, begining to clean his wound. After the wound was clean she threaded the thread through his skin diagnaloly, causing the wound to close slowly.
She picked him back up and layed him on her bed. Once he was covered up she walked back downstairs, feeding Striker again and falling asleep in two chairs that faced each other.
Tyrant woke up under a soft blanket. he sat bolt upright rewarding himself with pain in his back. He groaned as he slowly stood up and walked towards the door trying to figure out where he was. He slowly walked down some stairs his mind slowly coming out of a fog. He saw Renian asleep on two chairs and he sagged against the wall with relief. Her eyes slowly opened.,
Renian slowly opened her eyes. She yawned and stood up. "Well, it is morning...I'm not quite sure how long its been. Did you sleep well?" Renian asked tiredly, directing her attention towards him.
