Tyrant ran a hand through his hair. "I feel this misrable because of a rock?" He demanded. He shook his head. "I'm sorry for being a bother. You shouldn't have slept on teh chairs when I could've."
Tyrant laughed, stopping when pain shot through his back. "I'm fine." He replied, he could feel a little blood slipping through the stiches. "I just need to sit down." He smiled sitting down on a chair.
Renian hissed angrily through her teeth. "Please? I don't want it to open up again. You're not a bother at all, so don't worry about it," she bit her lip and waited for Tyrant's response.
Renian smiled softly and walked over next to Tyrant. Pulling his arm over her shoulders she helped him stand, walk upstairs, and get in the bed. She smiled and turned towards the door.
Something struck Renian on the inside, making her grit her teeth. "Boredom is just a worthless human emotion. Just like sadness, and happiness, and embarassment, and," she choked on the word, "love. I'm sure you'll be fine for a few minutes so I can make breakfast."
Her anger sparked up, like it did most of the time. She ran downstairs and began to make dinner. I'll never be free of these emotions! Her mind screamed. These emotions...that all came at once last night! I was so close...so close to becoming full! Then he had to come and bring all these worthless human emotions back! She slumped against the kitchen wall, falling slowly to the ground. She pulled her knees up to her chest and set her head in her hands. Why? Why was a cursed a half-breed?!
Once her little breakdown was over she quickly made Tyrant breakfast and brought it up to him, smiling. "Sorry about earlier. That appens alot."
(Just so you know, it may be morning for Tyrant and Renian but it's still the night before for our characters.)
Kai was running home to tell his mother the good news. He was just as happy as Karana. Not even the winds picking up from the incoming storm could dampen his spirits. The storm was moving slowly enough that it would arrive in Kuri City tomorrow. He arrived at his house in the slums and reach for the door.
He immediately stopped when he heard the sound of voices on the other side. He recognized one of the voices as his mother, but the others he didn't recognize.
His mother was pleading, "Please, don't take him. He's all I have left!"
The voice of a man said, "He is impure and therefore unfit to be a Dragon Knight. By decree of the king we are ordered to execute the one named Kai."
"What?" Kai gasped.
"By law, you are guilty of harboring an impure one. You are automatically sentenced to death." Kai could hear the sound of a sword being pulled out of its sheath.
Kai flung the door open at that moment. There were three soldiers facing his mother, one of them holding a sword. "Mother!"
Kai's mother turned to him. "Kai!"
Then the knight plunged his sword into her body.
Kai was frozen in place, unable to do anything except watch as his mother fell to her knees. A dark pool of blood began to soak the wooden floor around her. She reached out for her son, tears glistening from her eyes.
Then her hand fell and her eyes turned lifeless. Kai stared at his mother, his mind unable to comprehend what just happened. He looked up at the men who killed his mother. The other two soldiers were reaching for their swords.
Rage, like a tidal wave of heat washed over his body. These men had killed the only family he had left. He would make them pay, he would make them all pay.
Then, something dark rose up from deep inside of him. His vision suddenly went black. The last thing he heard before he drifted off to sleep was the sound of laughter.
His vision returned to him a few minutes later. He was standing in the middle of his house surrounded by bodies. Two of them had claw marks so big they looked to be caused by a large cat, like a cougar. The third body was missing its head. Blood soaked the floor in large pools around the bodies.
Before Kai could wrap his mind around what he was seeing he felt warm liquid running down his arms. He looked to see both of his hands drenched in blood. Claws had grown from the tips of his fingers.
Before Kai had time to panic he heard voices outside. "Over here!" Kai turned to see more soldiers with crossbows come in through the front door. They aimed their weapons at Kai. "Fire!"
His body was pierced head to toe with bolts. He fell to the floor on his back. The last thing he saw before the world turned to darkness was his mother's lifeless eyes. He reached out to grab her outstretched hand, to hold it one last time...
(Just so you know, my character is not dead. All your characters will meet up with him again later in the story. But until then I'll be guiding them through the story.)

Renian smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of her neck. "No problem," she said. Maybe...I'll lose the battle with my human side. She thought as mixed emotions flooded her again.
(Actually, here's what I was thinking. The storm that was mentioned earlier arrives at Kuri City the morning after Kai is supposedly killed. Only the storm isn't really a storm, it's actually the Earth Dragon of Darkness come to destroy the city. In the chaos all your characters escape the city, narrowly dodging death. What I was thinking was Karana could find out that Kai and his mother was killed before the storm hits. What do you think?)
