Ryder looked at the girl, did she not feel intimidated or at least angry by him. He pulled the cross necklace from under his jacket,
"This." He replied, he tucked it back under the jacket. When he didn't have it on the cross showed, but he normally kept his jacket on while in the towns. It made him look scarier. "Yours?"
He wasn't about to let her have an adavantage over him. No matter how bad he wanted to leave.
"This," Naomi showed him her black ring, "I was on my way to get a chain for it because it's a little dangerous. Why are you out here in the woods? If you want to go into the town it's a little west of the area." She smiled at him, he must've thought he scared her because he was acting a little mysterious.
"I know where the town is. I live out here in the woods." He smiled inwardly, the next thing he said would surely make him rid of her. "I'm not of towns, some call it Exile." He said sticking his hands in his coat pocket. His hands landed on a ball of leather string and he sighed inwardly, may as well do something nice. "Here, you can use some of this for it unless leather won't do."
He looked her over while she looked at the leather. Her light hair, and smooth skin. She was pretty, even beautiful. He kicked himself inwardly for the thought. He lived in mostly Exile. He couldn't go falling for some girl cause she didn't run away from him. That would be weakness, plus why would a girl want to like him. Liking him meant living in Exile too. He subconsciously tried shaking the thought from his mind. He really needed to get away from her and fast, before he did something foolish.
Naomi studied the leather. "Thanks," she smiled up at him and took the ring off. "That's strange...I sorta live out here to but I've never seen you around. I come out here every two weeks for a month. My father gets really annoying so I just need to get any from him sometimes. He yells at me alot saying crap like, 'Why don't you just live out there!' and tht stuff." Naomi was suprised, one because the leather was just the right length, and two because she'd never talked to anyone this much.
"I normally pay more attention and make sure I"m not seen." He replied, "Want me to tie that for you?" He asked as she slid the ring on the leather then went to try and put it around her neck. She shrugged and he reached out and quickly knotted the leather. Her hair was smooth against his hands and he finished quickly before he put his hands back to his side yelling at himself inwardly. WHat happened to leaving.
Ryder ran a hand through is hair. Should he really tell her?
"Well I just went to town, I was headin' back to the ridge. I like sitting up there and thinking." He said feeling his neck grow red. He cursed inwardly at it, but didn't change his facel expression.
Ryder nodded, "I love watching it." He let a small smile play at his lips. He looked towards the sky it was slowly getting dark. "Come on, we'll miss it." He said grabbing her hand and running towards the ridge. It wasn't until a few minutes later that he reliezed he was still holding her hand. His face burned and he willed his hand to let go, but it wouldn't listen.
Ryder sat down on the edge of the ridge and finally gained control of his hand letting her's go. His hand felt cold all of the sudden and he suddenly wanted to grab her hand again. He fought the urge though. It wouldn't make sense, she would leave and he would never see her again.
Naomi sat down next to Ryder, watching the sunset. He'd let go of her hand and looked away. I've still got three weeks before I return. A pang of hate for her father hit Naomi. She searched her mind for a random subject to talk about. "Colour?" She finally asked.
"Huh?" Ryder looked at her.
"What's your favorite colour?" She asked again. He's gonna think I'm an idiot.
Ryder looked forward again and tried to think. "I don't know. Never really thought about that." He looked back at her, "Whats yours?"
I could always say the color of your eyes. He thought, he knew he couldn't though. Her eyes just seemed to pull him in though. He could drown in them, and not give a care.
Naomi put her finger to her temple. "Umm...black or blue. I like how they goes with almost anything," she admitted. He nodded his head. She smiled and turned back to the sunset, which was now out of view but the sky was still painted pink and orange. In all truth it was beautiful.
