Naomi glanced over at Ryder, thinking of her answer. "I guess it's because I wanted to find out if you were truely mean, or if you were just like that when you first meet people," she replied, smiled at him.
"I'm pretty sure," she laughed and looked over at Ryder. His facial expressions where hard to read but his face was a little red. Naomi smiled and looked strait.
Naomi sat up and pulled her knees to her chest, resting her chin on her knees and staring out at what was left of the sunset. "I've always hated him. Father never liked me, he always said he hated me and that he'd wanted a son instead of a daughter. Sometime last year everything changed...he began aranging meeting between families and he kept going on and on about choices for marrige and if I'd made the right friends I could become something great," Naomi rolled her eyes, "One day, about six months ago he'd had a whole marrige arranged with this really horrible man, who, my father thought was great just because he came from a royal family. In fact the marrige was set for today," she smiled and began to laugh.
Ryder looked at her surprised, "Your out here skipping your own wedding?" He asked, she nodded. He grunted, "Well, that is something."
"Why?" She asked,
"Cause, if they find you out here. With me, they aren't going to be very happy." He laughed lightly closing his eyes. "They'll have to get over it though."
Naomi smiled and set her chin back on her knees, studying Ryder out of the corner of her eye. You like him? Her mother's voice echoed through her head as the true flashback of the first time Naomi hated her father came into mind.
'You like him?' The young girl's mother had asked, smiling down at her young daughter, her father next to her mother. The young girl nodded and smiled, but soon frowned as the father looked down at her.
'This boy is an exile! I won't allow you to see him!' The father had shouted. 'Go to your room and don't come out till I say!' The young girl screamed 'I hate you!' and ran into her room, forever hating her father.
A tear fell from Naomi's eye, but she quickly covered it up by burrying her head into her knees.
Ryder looked up, she had tried to hide the tear, but it didn't work.
"Is something wrong?" He asked sitting up. He pulled her head up and looked into her eyes, they were wet with tears. "Did I do something to make you sad?"
