I watched Sayla eating the cheese. Though there was no danger signals coming directly from her, the necklace she wore sent strong signals of it. It may have been just because it turned into a throwing blade, but I couldn't shake the feeling. I was just about to ask her about it when I smelled a Hallen Bear coming our way. It wasn't accompanied with danger, which meant it probably wanted some of the cheese that Sayla and I were snacking on. But it wouldn't be to happy to meet us.
"Quick! In a tree!" I called to Sayla, since Hallen Bears, unlike their cousins to the south, could not climb trees.
She lifted up her head, then nodded when the bear scent hit her. She climbed the nearest tree while I jumped straight up, swinging myself onto a low branch. Then the Hallen Bear emerged from the underbrush. It was large for a male, as it would have stood around ten feet tall. Then I saw a scar on his shoulder and smiled.
"Well what would you know." I said to myself.
I motioned Sayla to put the shuriken that she held in her hand away. Then I dropped silently on the ground and made a deep rumbling sound in my throat. The Hallen Bear whirled around, then checked itself when it saw me.
"Did you miss me Marty?" I asked him.
He paused for a second, then lumbered away.
"What did you do?" Sayla asked as she jumped from the tree.
I grinned, "I sent Marty away."
She frowned and said, "Let me rephrase that. What did you mean by "Did you miss me", and why did "Marty" go away?"
"Well, Marty used to be quite a young hot shot until he met me. And all I did back there was call a challenge. Does that answer your questions?"
"Yes, although not to my satisfaction."

Ryder followed quietly and looked at the house when they got there. "Does your father know about this??" He asked as they walked into the house. "I wouldn't want to be found."
Naomi smiled at Ryder. "Oh! Are you busy tomorrow?" She asked, remembering something that she wanted to do. "If you aren't I want to show you something."
Walking forward she stopped in her steps, "Would someone mind explaining to me why people are here? Or do I have to force out some answers," she said looking to see some people at her destination.
*I`m lost so I`ll just run into someone alright?*
