Did he not think she would really leave? Did he think she was all bark, no bite. "You mean you didn't think I was going to leave?" She asked looking at him. She felt small suddenly, like a helpless ant that knew it was a lion, but was forced in a mold.
I clung to her tighter, "No, I knew that you would leave if I gave you the chance. I was petrified about that. I just wasn't worried about how serious you were about your reasons."
"I know you're not leaving," I said. "I'm an ass okay? When I said I didn't take it too seriously I meant I wasn't so concerned that you wanted to go! If you truly wanted away from me I would let you, so long as you were happy." I dropped to my knees before her, praying for her to forgive me for my stupidity.
Cara looked at him. She bit her lip, she was supposed to be out of tears. She slowly sat down next to him. "Christian, why do you put up with me. I put you through hell, but yet you still put up with me. There is no reason that I can see, so how can you stand me?"
Cara looked at him and let a few tears roll down her cheeks. "I can't even treat you nice all the time." She said wrapping her arms around herself. "Your not an ass, but I make you feel like you are one. I'm the usless one. What do I do for y'all but bring trouble."
***Do you want to stop the pity party? I don't care either way. I just don't want you to get annoyed. ***
I sighed and looked over to where the mage lay. "We need to figure out what to do with him."
"I say we kill him and just be done with it and not have to worry about it anymore," Caspan said, walking up to us. Storm nodded his agreement.
"But what about information?" Kayla argued. "We could get quite a bit out of him, then kill him...?"
I shook my head. "He won't tell us anything. I could try to invade his mind and gather information that way, but I can't say how long that will take, and the whole time I'll be completely useless to help you if something goes wrong."
I didn't add that if my physical body was killed, I'd be stuck in some godforsaken mages head for the rest of eternity...
I shivered at the though.
"Plus I'm still weak, so the process would take longer, if it would work at all," I said with a sigh.
Be the cartoon heart. Light a fire, light a spark. Light a fire, flame in my heart. We'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark.
"You make me smile, you didn't make me feel like an ass, I did." I kissed the tears from her cheek, "you make my heart swell, my pulse rase, my mind shut down. And all of this in the good way. I love you Cara. To me, you have no faults."
Cara looked at him. "How can you say that, all I am is faults." She cried, she grabbed his hand and held it to her face. Looking at him she knew he was telling the truth. "I don't understand it, it just doesn't make sense. I love you, Christian, I know that. But I don't see how you can feel the way you say you do. Not towards me."
