Okay, I've really screwed things up...

One of the things I don't like about phpBB3 is it keeps track of every post you haven't read instead of just posts from your last visit. On a site as busy as YWS, this can be a problem. We get on average 500 posts per day, and of course you can't read that many. So what ends up happening is that every post looks like it's unread.

What I'm trying to do is make it such that only posts you haven't read since your last visit are marked unread. I got halfway there a few months ago, and I'm trying now to finish that up. Unfortunately in so doing, I've gone more backwards than forwards.

For now, in each forum you'll see a link that says "Mark Topics Read." That will mark all topics in that forum as read.

Hopefully I'll have this all figured out soon.

I tried to change my password around 6:50 PM EST, but I ran into an error. I tried again at 6:55 and ran into the same error. I'm running Firefox 3.5.7.

Okay, so this has been bugging me for a while. When I go to the blogs page, and I see all of the recent blog entries, and I click the "Next" button for the next ten or so blogs to zoom into place, I notice that some of the blogs... are not recent at all. Just right now, I clicked "Next" and got a page of blogs from two or three days ago.

Is this a bug, or just... something else? Thanks.

Jared, is this a continuing issue? I've checked on IE, but there's nothing like you described.

Kyllorac: Thanks for letting me know. The bug has been fixed.

Posts in Other don't seem to count for critiques.

Nate >> Yeah. Well. It happens frequently, but not every time. (I was also using Google Chrome when I reported that, I think.) I don't know...

Maybe it's just my computer.

A browser doesn't affect stuff like that, and your computer shouldn't affect it either. Are you double-clicking 'next'?

No, I'm not. It's been like this ever since the this current YWS came out. I always just though it was a bug that you'd eventually fix, but obviously no one else has reported this.

Next time it happens, I'll look into it more.

Dreamer wrote:Just a bug that's been about off and on since the New YWS got put up, but the second pages of blogs doesn't always exist. Sometimes it skips to what I assume is the third page, but don't have a clear way of knowing. There are definitely a group of entries missing between the first and next page, though. Doesn't seem to matter what browser I'm using, though I use primarily Firefox and Chrome. Default template.

Don't have an exact time, because like I said, this has been off and on since we got the New YWS. I thought I'd let things calm a bit before I mentioned it and see if it didn't get fixed on its own in the mean time.

^^ I can vouch for Jared, as I'm having the same issue. When I click 'next' it varies in how far it jumps back, but the blogs are definitely not recent enough to be on page two. Some are as old as four days.

I've sent two gifts today, and each time I send one I get a "general error" message. The gift sends just fine.

Message:

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this. When I start typing my user name in the "login" bar, the page refreshes.
