Maybe she is not such a bad leader after all..... She thought.

The trees swayed silently in the night. Fadalia could be seen running slowly through the night. One second she would be there and the next she would disappear into a thick bit of trees, then she would show up once again. She held a deer and some green herbs in her mouth and her eyes gleamed with determined pride.
I must get this back to the wolves soon she thought.
Soon the tip of the stone den could be seen and the small shadowed figure or Kirany lying in the front of the cave.
She quickly brought up her pace to a sprint and seconds later she was there. She slowed to a stop and dipped her head in greetings. She dropped the herbs and the meat, "Share this with Flame please" She said motioning to the other wolf not to far down the den. With that she dipped her head once more and ran back into the night.
She shook in relief and pelted forwards. She came to a large dark cliff. She leaped to the top her lean muscles rippling under her healthy shining pelt. She lifted her elegantly curved head to the sky. The moon was large and looked as if it was full, but Fadalia new that tomorrow would be the meeting. The meeting when Red Oak and Blood Mountain wolf packs would meet by the sea and discuss news of prey, humans and most of all disease.
Fadalia threw back her head and let a long howl pass her lips. It split the night in two, bouncing off trees and cliffs. She was calling to the Alphas of Blood Mountain. To tell them that tomorrow was the meeting.
Kirany heard the howl from the distance and looked at the meat and herbs. She licked her lips and smelled the meat, but she did not eat, she was going to wait for flame to eat first.

Destiny was fighting the wolverine with all her strength, but the tiny wolf was obviously losing. Some of the nurses charged and began to help, dodging back and forth, running in to bite and then backing away. Pained yelps filled the clearing. Tallulah reached the scene and threw herself at the spitting creature, snarling her rage. One of the two pups lay lifeless in it's mouth, and the other was sprawled at it's feet. Hrowling and still spitting, the wolverine trotted away, one pup still in it's mouth. Hackles raised, Tallulah sniffed at the remaining pup. The rest of the wolves gathered around as she examined its wounds. the cub was not dead, but very close to perishing. A broken leg at least. Destiny trotted up, her dislocated shoulder hanging limply.
"Will it be alright?"
"I think so. We have to get her to the healer. You too!"
That night the pack howled their lament to the sky, grieving for their lost pack-sister. It's brother, still alive but just, rested in the healer's den.
<<Why would they talk about disease? We have to reason to suspect that there would be a sickness yet.... Maybe someone is showing symptoms at the gathering, and shortly afterwards wolves start to get sick? Maybe they move not because of the sickness, but because there is no prey left for the remaining wolves to eat? (the prey would be affected too, i suppose) I dunno, whadda you guys think?>>

She raised her head and began to howl a reply, long and cold into the sky. She realized that the alphas of Oak Forest would hear her, and know that it was just her calling, that there was no longer and alpha male. The grief still lingered from her mate's death, but she had to be strong for her pack. The full moon showed itself from behind it's cloudy mantle, and she continued her howl, acknowledging the other pack. Tommorow would be the meeting.
She suddenly heard footsteps behind her, and turned. The pack healer was padding up behind her, a clump of herbs in her jaw.
Flame tore a leg off the deer and crouched down with her back to Kirany. As she ate, her ears pricked the distant sound of howls reaching her. It wasn't Hunt song, or Pack song, no... this was Call song.
The two packs would be meeting tomorrow night, to talk about the changes of the forest, and their had been many. Prey was scarce, and winter had been long and hard, spring had come late, and now the summer was unusually hot. The forest was changing and the packs would have to change with it.
Flame shrugged, even if she was a lone wolf, it might be a good idea to hear what the others had to say.

Tallulah stood back in the clearing, thinking hard and looking at the wolves mililing around her.
"Destiny, i'd like you to come to the gathering... And you Serra, and Tobi."
The mentioned wolves nodded their awknowlegement and went on with their business. The ones who had not been chosen murmured slightly at the fact that she had chosen Serra, but a look from their leader silenced them. All in all she had chosen eight wolves to go with her, including the beta male.
She recalled the conversation she had had with the medicine wolf the night before, and her gold eyes darkened slightly... She had thought she had heard someone listening in the bushes, but they had been upwind of her and she didn't get a chance to tell who it was.
Kirany ate part of the deer and silently left the cave. Using smell, she found Fadaila and sat next to her.
"I want to join you in the gathering." She said as she looked up at fadaila.

Destiny limped back toward her den. Even though her shoulder still hurt horribly she was proud that Tallulah had chosen her to go to gathering. She looked around her empty den. She remembered the days when her sister was with her. She missed her sister so much. To think it was only nine months ago when she was "lost." She layed down and closed her eyes. The place where they gathered wasn't very far away, but she would need to rest in order to make it there with her sore shoulder.

The moon shone brightly overhead, and the stars twinkled. Tallulah gave a short bark-howl, signaling the wolves in their dens or conversing quitely in the shadows to come to her. When they were ready to go, she looked over them one more time. there was one missing.
Flame hung in the background as the wolves prepared to leave. Fadalia hadn't minded that she was going to the meeting, but it still galled her to ask another wolf for permission. She shifted from one leg to the other, impatient to leave.

The wolves shook their heads, not having any idea. Worridly, Tallulah scanned the clearing for any sign of the low-ranking wolf. The over-hanging rocks of the camp made dark shadows under the light of the moon, places into witch even Tallulah night-eyes could not pierce.
After a few minutes frantic searching, the warriors concluded that she was not in the camp.
"We have to go NOW!" That was Tobi, eagerly prancing on the soft ground. Worry clenching her insides, Tallulah had to agree. She turned her head to the beta female, inscrutcting her.
"Stay with the camp and guard the pack. Set up a watch. Maybe send a few wolves to look for serra? it worries me not knowing where she is. "
With that the wolves walked out of the clearing, breakingi nto a fast lope when they were out of sight.
<<I was gone too.... Luckily it doesn't look like anything has happened while i was away. By the way, if I kill my character off, can I have a new one? Not that I'm going to....... >>

The wolves stalked restlessly through the night, loping quickly through the undegrowth. The full moon was almost all the way up, shining some ligt down on the backs of the pack. Tallulah was at their head, trying to push thoughts of Serra out of her head. She Ignored the prey scents drifiting through her nose, following only the trail she was on. They were almost to the gathering place. She lifted her nose in one long howl, not breaking her stride.
