Lanis


He flinched at his leader's words.

"Fadalia," He spoke calmly. "Come back with me to the pack, they will accept you back. Right now the pack needs you more than ever, one wolf is pregnant with pups, one is sick, and there is a prey shortage." Lanis said before muzzling her shoulder.

Fadalia

Fadalia's eyes tightened and a small snarl shuttered her teeth, but at Lanis's warm touch her heart exploded and her feelings turned inside out. "Thank you..." she muttered, "I was angered by the pack" she licked Lanis's ear and they set off back to the den.

Lanis

Fadalia and him walked back to the pack. When they got there, Lanis scanned the clearing, the wolves were eating. Lanis grabbed something to eat for himself, and he also grabbed something for Fadalia. He dropped a large rabbit at her paws and he began eating the bird he got for himself. While eating, he noticed several hostile glances from the wolves around him. Lanis jumped onto the big boulder.

"You may think we should drive Fadalia out, but you are all wrong! What she did was right, and we are also in great need of a leader at the moment. With Kirany pregnant, Luit sick, and a shortage of prey, we need her help. Think about it, what would we do after she was driven out?" He asked. Quiet murmurs went through the clearing, they stopped there glaring and just looked at the ground, still not too sure.

Fadalia

Fadalia looked up a Lanis, her heart swelling with pride for his loyalty and bravery. He seemed fit to be an alpha.
She dipped her head and leaped up beside Lanis, "thank you" she whispered into his ear.
"I am sorry for leaving, it was not my choice, but it was for the packs own good."

Lanis


Fadalia leaped down from the boulder, grabbed her rabbit, and walked into her den. Lanis picked up his half-eaten bird and walked to the entrance of her den.

"May I come in?" He asked. He heard her welcome him in. He stepped inside with his bird and laid down.

"We haven't seen Skart at all. I think he might have died someplace far from our hunting grounds. The reason I think that is because we haven't scented him or found any evidence that he lives, and also we never smelled a decaying body, that is my reason for thinking he died in a place farther than we hunt." Lanis said. Before Fadalia could speak, he continued.

"And as you've already heard, we have shortage of prey, Kirany's pregnant, and Luit is sick. He has been coughing so much...just like the wolf at the gathering. I told the wolves to try to stay away from him as much as possible, we can't afford to have sick wolves at this time." He finished, waiting for Fadalia's response.

Fadalia

Fadalia took this in, her eyes gazed into the muddy wall. Once Lanis had finished speaking she swished her tail, "Tomorrow I will set out with three other wolves in search of Skarts body of any evidence of him being dead or alive." She rose to her feet shaking the moss from her pelt, "Will you accompany me on my trip?" her eyes filled with hope, "I will let you think about it" she turned and stepped out of the den, "I will visit with Luit and Kirany right now. You call a pack meeting and we will discus the prey shortage." With that she was gone.

Lanis & Kirany


He took the last bite of his bird before dashing out of the den and towards the boulder. He decided to wait until Fadalia was toward the end of her conversation, then he would call the meeting.


Kirany munched on a large water vole. She saw Luin eating alone. Kirany was about to go join Luin, even though it was dangerous, to eat with him, but then Fadalia walked up to her.

"Hello Fadalia." She said.

Fadalia

"hello Kirany" She dipped her head and sat down next to Kirany, "how are you?" She nuzzled her friend.

Kirany & Lanis


"I'm good, Fadalia. Are-" She was interrupted by a noise. She looked over to the right and saw Luit was having a big cough fit, wolves started scooted farther away from him. Kirany gave them a harsh look.

"Not a single wolf goes around him anymore, he is getting weaker and isn't being cared for." She said quietly before adding: "I would be around him, even though he is sick, but the pups..." She was interrupted again by a howl.


"OWWWWWW! I want to call a clan meeting!" Lanis shouted.

Fadalia

"Thank you Kirany, I will take a look at him after the pack meeting" She licked Kirany's shoulder before trotting up to the boulder and standing beside Lanis, "have you made up your mind" she whispered into his ear. Without waiting for a reply she howled once more and waited for the rest of the pack to gather around the boulder.

"We have some very important things to discuss, first Luin's sickness and then the prey shortage." She swished her tail, "I would like Kirany to come up and tell us a bit about Luin's condition."

Kirany


She didn't expect to be called up, but she jumped onto the big rock and prepared to speak.


"He may be sick, but that is no reason to ignore his needs. He grows weaker everyday, not a single wolf has even spoke to him since he got sick. He can barley walk far enough to eat and go back to the den. We should speak to him, bring him prey, help him fix his moss bed, sleep closer to him to keep him warmer, then maybe he will get better! He has had cough fits a lot more, which means he is getting worse. I think we should help, even if it does mean risking some of our warriors." She said. Fadalia nodded to her that she could stop speaking if she wanted. Kirany leaped back down and stood in the crowd of wolves.

"Fadalia, I will go with you tomorrow." He whispered in her ear before the meeting continued.

Fadalia

Fadalia was very proud of Kirany, "You hear that? Its true... Luin is you pack mate, your family. You are leaving him to die" She dipped her head to Lanis before passing to the edge of the rock.
"I want apprentices to change Luin's bedding 3 times a day and to supply prey for him when needed, we will build a watering hole beside his den and the elders will fill it with water once a day for him only. I will take my chances and keep him warm during the night a long with any other wolves that are willing to help out."

She snorted, "Now, the prey... Since when has it started to go down?"

Lanis


He walked to her side.

"Since a few days after you left. We don't know why though." He said before adding, "I think we should hunt farther out than usual, they prey might be there, and we might find Him." Lanis said, referring to Skart.

Fadalia

Fadalia shuttered at the words, "Tomorrow Lanis, I and one other wolf will go out to search for Skart, dead or alive. We will also check the prey rate there and consider moving dens or hunting further out like Lanis mentioned." She lifted her head, "do I have any volunteers?"

Kirany


"do I have any volunteers?" Fadalia asked. Kirany stood up at that.

"I volunteer. I may be pregnant, but I've still got awhile before the pups come." She said.
