-Bella-

"Tis Okay, I just wasn't expecting it," Bella said, turning around. "I'm Bella." She smiled, trying to seem friendly. A gust of wind blew in her direction, sending his scent in my direction. I inhaled...

His blood smelled strange...it wasn't completely unpleasant...but it wasn't good either. I guess I woulnd't drink it unless I was really, really thirsty. I shuddered.

"What's wrong?" James asked, pulling me out of my trance. He had moved considerably closer to me in the seconds that I had been thinking.

"Oh," I shook my head out. "Nothing. I just...nothing," I replied simply.

"Okay..."

James-

I studied the girl quizzically. Bella, she had said her name was. There was something...unhuman about her. I could place it.

"So what are you doing out here?" I asked, waving my hand vaguely.
Be the cartoon heart. Light a fire, light a spark. Light a fire, flame in my heart. We'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark.

*MAYBE! You're character has just become my vampires love interest!!! MY other human character, Tristan, is now officially nonexistant. Forget that Bella ever had a boyfriend. She's now officially single. (neheh)*

"I'm walking home," I replied, inhaling again. I had begun to walk, but stopped again.

"What?" James asked, stopping along side me. A gust of wind had blown in my direction. This time, a different scent hit me. It was sweet, tingling my senses in a way I had never experienced before. It was...blood lust...I wanted to kill. I wanted to find the source of that smell and rip it to shreds. I looked at James.

"Hold still," I muttered, walking around him quickly. Once I was sure he couldn't see me, I moved close to his neck (where one of those main veins were). I inhaled deeply.

He was the source of this aroma...ambrosa to my senses. I gasped.

"what?" James asked again, spinning to face me.

"Nothing, I replied. I just remembered something from school," I began walking again. James didn't realize what danger he would be in if I didn't have willpower of steel...no...of something else (word unknown right now). I would not bite him...no matter what. But damn, he smelled good.

Colt slowly walked back towards his house, he needed some stuff for his house though, so he walked into the closest grocery store. He didn't like staying inside of it for very long, to many people staring. When he walked inside he froze. There she was, Caiden standing in front of one of the aisles. He quickly gained his composer and slowly started to walk past her. But her scent feeled his nose. He walked slowly past her thinking of a way to talk to her.

Caiden jumpped when she noticed Cole standing next to her.

"Oh hey Cole! What are you doing here?"

"Getting some house supplies." She watched as he streached his arm across her and grabbed some laundry detergent off of the shelf. "What about you?"

"Splurging," she said, "I'm long overdue for a vacation."

"Might be a good idea to take some time off."

She wanted to see if he wanted to go back to her place, but every instinct she had told her to find something sharp and ram him through the heart. Finally she got up the courage to ask him something. "Wanna go for a walk tomorrow night or something?"

"As long as you don't plan to kill me." Colt smiled, "But if part of your plans inclued a stake of any sort you'll have to count me out." She acted shocked,

"I have no reason to kill you," She said smiling, "yet."

"You see, that yet scrares me a tad, what if in a split second you change your mind and find someone long and sharp, I'd bee in big trouble, wouldn't I?" He smiled,

Caiden couldn't help but smile back, noting the flush going into her cheeks, "Don't worry, I'll leave all sharp and pointy things at home."

"ANd long, don't forget long," he added.

"Now what if I just have a really long random not sharp thing?"

"As long as its not sharp."

Caiden giggled and turned to go down the isle, hoping that'd he'd follow her.

Colt turned down the isle right next to the one she was walking down and watched her through the stuff on the shelves,

"I never thought a vampire hunter would gigle." He smiled, she glanced at him through the canned section as they neared the end of the isle. He turned to where he was standing in front of her leaning against the isle. "Aren't you supposed to be all big and tough?"

Caiden looked at him and then looked down at herself before rolling her eyes, "i'm not exactly a professional," she said and shifted a bottle of wine to the side so she could look for another, "I mean I've got a lot of kills, which pays A LOT, and its...kinda fun..."

She looked up to his quizzical look.

"I don't like killing people, but the fact that they'll follow me makes me feel special, also insane but I tend to ignore the insanity."

"So just cause it pays alot, and you get a sort of high from it you have no reason to kill them?" He laughed, "That is a wonderful reason to hunt."

"What other reason would there be unless someone I knew was hurt by one?" She demanded, Colt thought for a minute,

"None, course I have known a few vampire hunters that were vampires, THEY were truely insane, though they are normally just abandoned flegdlings, or something of that sort, though all abandoned fledglings aren't like that. A few are, not most." He laughed, "And the reason they follow you is because your blood probably smells sweeter then the person or prey they were following."

Caiden couldn't help but blush again, she had always known she smelled good to vampires, similar to the appealing smell of a witch-which made perfect sense she had witch blood in her-but without the threat of being a powerful witch. Colt followed her to the register and helpped her carry her bags to her car.

Just when he was about to walk away she opened the passenger door for him smiling faintly. She waited until he was walking towards the door before she went over to the drivers side.

As they drove back to Caiden's house they chatted about everything from movies to music to the best way to attack and kill a vampire.

"I always just go for the frontal approach," Caiden said looking over.

"Look out!" Colt shouted and just as Caiden turned back to the road she saw a dog. She swirved to avoid it and crashed over the end of the highway falling into the pit on the side of the road.

Colt flew forward hitting his head on the headboard. He straightened out as the smell of blood filled his nose. He turned to Caiden, she had a major cut on her forhead and it was bleeding. He looked around helplessly. He couldn't stay for long, her blood smelled to good. He quickly tore part of his coat and wrapped it around her head stopping most of the blood. He picked her up and pulled her out of the car climbing back up towards the road. The ground turned flat and he quickly laid her down and moved away from her frowning when he saw blood on his jacket. This was going to be harder then he thought. He quickly moved back down to the car and looked it over. It was totaled, and they were in an area not many people came so he couldn't just have someone take her to the hospital. He bit his lip and looked around, there had to be some way to get her back to town without being close to her. Even though he had just fed the strong smell of her blood was a temptation he didn't need right then. He frowned, there was no way. He picked her up and slowly started making the treck back to town. He wouldn't smell, he didn't breath, if he didn't do that he wouldn't have to worry about hurting her. He slipped up and breathed in, he could smell her but there was something else. There were vampire around them. He froze, he wouldn't be able to easily keep them from harming her. A moan escaped Caiden's lips. He looked down at her and frowned again.

"Where you headed, boy?" A haunting voice called from behind him. He spun around and saw three big vampires.

"That is none of your concern." Colt hissed,

"I think it is when a fellow vampire wont share blood that smells as good as that." Another one hissed.

"You wont get near her!" Colt said squaring his shoulders, his shoulders were as broad as two of the vampires put together, but the third one was a little bigger then his comrades.

Caiden's head was fuzzy, she didn't remember much, just a dog and swerving, where was she? She opened her eyes and saw a jacket, why was there a jacket on her head? She reached up to pull it off and felt whatever was supporting her stiffen. Were they arms?

She pulled the jacket off and looked up at Colt, he was staring straight ahead, not breathing, why wasn't he breathing? She felt something trickle down her cheek, she wasn't sweating, what was it?

She touched it and looked at it, blood, oh no she was bleeding, she looked over to where Colt was focusing his attention. Oh god no! What were they going to do?
